How does Aeon overdrive damage increase?

I keep hear people's anima doing over 1mil damage.

Mine just does around 30K-40k

Also people keep saying you have to pay Yojimbo around 1 mil to do Zanmato.


Well mine does it for less than 10k usually.

I killed Yunalesca with only 10293 Zanmato

The Aeons' stats rise with Yuna's and you can also increase them yourself. Do you have the US or International version? Because in the US version apparently Anima hits for a max of 99999 on the overdrive but in the International if you have 255 strength then she'll hit for approx. 1.5 million!

When you get certain character's ultimate weapons certain aeons (when they hit overdrive) will be able to hit over the 9,999 hit point damage. Bahamut's overdrive just keeps on increasing as the game progress and you strengthen him.

Activate Yuna's Nirvana- Valefor does over 9,999
Activate Wakka's World Champion- Ifrit does over 9,999
Activate Kimahri' Spirit Lance- Ixion does over 9,999
Activate Lulu's Onion Kinhgt- Shiva does over 9,999
Bahamut already does over 9,999
Activate Auron's Masamune- Yojimbo does over 9,999
Anima already does over 9,999
The Magus Sisters already do over 9,999
