I know that very few in here(including myself) use the spell check feature, but on a whim today I decided to use it and found out it's busted. The javascript error says that it's expecting an object at character 33 on the spell check button line.

I don't think it has worked since I've been here. I remember one newbie getting excited over the fact that EoFF had a spell check. Pretty sure he didn't stick around.

As far as I know, it hasn't worked since the day I came here. I've only tried using it a few times, and each time I've got that javascript error.

As long as I can read what people type, I have no problem with it not working.

I really wish it could get fixed. I couldn't even count how many times I've had to go to dictionary.com to make sure a word in my post was spelt correctly, or how many times I've had to edit my posts because of typos.

Hasn't ever been working for as long as I can remember.

spellcheckers usually don't know such a huge mass of common words anyway that they really seem pointless except for catching little minor spelling errors.

That's why I take time out of my day to correct your idiotic spelling errors. =D

And we thank you for doing so Linus.

I remember that there used to be, a long long time ago, some sort of spellchecker... I used it once.

It's never worked. If it did I wouldn't misspell everything all the time 'cause I'd use it for every single freaking post.

It is just there to make us want to use it. I think MS Word spelled my Liquefiey (sp) wrong in my status. :P

We don't need a spellchecker program, we have Bleys, Linus and Kishi.
