A new rank for people who have been here for 3 years and up, It would either be called 'Senior' or Veteran.'

It could be bright red. So how about it?

I made a picture for 'Senior.'

Eh. I could do without it.

I'm happier being unrecognizable. Most other people who'd get it are either staff, Recognized, ex-staff, or not at the MB any longer. I don't know if being here a long time is enough to warrant a special rank anyways.

I wouldn't want to impose such a title on anyone who doesn't want that kind, of recognition (such as Unne), and it's not really the kind of rank that you can just give to some qualified members. Really, I think it's a good idea, but I still think it's better to go ahead and not do that.

I think generally we shouldn't do anything that encourages a "oldbie good, newbie bad!" sort of mindset anyways. That gets annoying.

But noobs = stupid and vets=gods! We need to rub in their faces!

Sounds pointless and requires a hack of the board's source code. No go.

Liquid Glass

...I guess, you might be able to make a option.

You should make a option for all of those titles. like senior site staff or site staff, or even recongized member. A option so you can turn it on and off.

Oh well, i tried.:)

Again, frivolous and requires board source code modification. No go.

Liquid Glass

Okay.

You just left the boards for like 10 minutes. Trying to sleep?

As long as you make one of those options "Administrator," then I'm fine.

Actually, I said something that makes no sense at all in order to make him think that babelfish barfed. ("The goat is your enemy")

that probably makes a lot of sense to some people.

But Bleys, that's something that would make a lot of sense to come from you. If you said something more normal, I'd more likely be confused. =P

Thats why we have custom user ranks. Still it would be cool to se veteran under my "Dagger of the Mind"

I think custom ranks or no custom ranks is enough, don't really need to distinguish between normal regulars any more than that :p

Flying Mullet

I don't see why another custom rank is needed. Admins and Site Staff are self explainatory. Cid's Knights are mods. These are useful to the users of the boards so they know who is in charge and can talk to them and bring up issues and questions when needed. Recognized members show that they are mature and can handle the day to day operations of their own threads. Why would you need anything beyond that? All of the ranks right now serve a purpose, yet if you add another rank it will just be a name. And like it has been mentioned before, all it does it create an oldie/newbie atmosphere. It would be no different than using your post count to flaunt seniority. So I see no point in another rank. Plus if you have too many ranks the idea of a rank is pretty pointless as no one stands out.

EDIT: And Akuma, if you want your "Veteran" rank, wait 8 months and then you'll get your extra line of text above your avatar. In essence that's what those are for, to show the people have been around here for a while.

Since it's my birthday tomorrow can I be a Recognized Member just for the day? =)

All I knew was "the goat is your ______." I probably would've replied with something like, "No, the goat is <i>your</i> mother."
