If I'm not mistaken, that was all BoB.

Who would publish it?

Ah yes. So much for that then!
But I got that idea ages before BoB (and it was a history-book, too). I just didn't have any material. :(

There was a severe lack of response. I didn't have nearly half enough things to work with, so I just decided not to go ahead with it. Quite like the Battle of the Bands competition I started up in The Lounge at one point.

OMG WHY DON'T WE DO THIS?!?!?!?!?!

If someone's willing to give it a shot, I'm sure I could try to remember what the hell my ideas were and let them have a shot. It would have been pretty neat.

Is this a novel or some kind of history book?

the history of novelty.

Okay, if I remember rightly, it was to include...
<LI>Interviews with newbies, oldbies, no-longer-posting oldbies and even a few banned members.
<LI>A timeline.
<LI>A history.
<LI>Profiles of the bigger names in EoFF History.
<LI>The bottom of each page was to be some of the better quotes that have come up over time.
<LI>Awards results
<LI>Some EoFF Artwork
<LI>Random people giving in little stories of their times in EoFF etc.
<LI>Random facts / General knowledge / Useless information.
and much, much more!*
*probably not that much though.

i'm all about that except the publishing would be the problem.

I'd probably just make copies of it in Word and have someone make a copy in Adobe, and everyone can print out their own copy if they want it. If someone wanted me to print off one for them and send it to them, I guess they could send me the cash through Paypal or something. But yeah, that's the last thing we'd have to worry about. Main problem is the fact that when I made a thread on it last time, it didn't even reach a second page and I only got about 2 PM's regarding it. =/
Very little interest was shown, so I canned it back then. Seems right now there's nothing going on, though, so I guess I could start it up again. *considers*

We should kill someone off at the end - it worked for Harry Potter.

Bring 'em back. Worked for Lord of the Rings.

No Bleys, you don't kill off the main character.

Or maybe kill him off in the beginning?
Citizen Bleys

Or have him tortured in perpetuity, as per Prometheus.

EoFF doesn't have any gods.

Only if the person gets killed because he spoke like Yoda.

In all seriousness(?), the book sounds like a good idea. Distributing it in Word or PDF format would work well, too - until comedians start editing it...
But reallym the only setback would be finding members with the time and inclination to undertake a project like this with no foreseeable rewards.
It'd be great, but how could you possibly pick just a few good quotes out of the reams of divine prose that's been posted here?
Loony BoB
06-28-2003, 04:49 AM
The quotes at the bottom of the pages would be ripped out of the quotes threads.
Del Murder
06-28-2003, 08:01 AM
That would take up the whole page.
Loony BoB

Not when I'm selective. I'd only use one liners. Half the long quotes have one or two good one liners anyway. And they'd probably be better when quoted that way, too.

That's a nifty idea. But it'd be a lot of work and, as someone mention, no one really cares. Heh
Yamaneko
07-02-2003, 03:40 AM
Plus, you'd have to include Raist in the book (being the veteran that he is) and nobody wants that.

Sounds like a good idea, i think atleast some people would care Raist. It would add a whole new sence to EoFF since people would learn how Bley's mind works......*morbidness*
I would be happy to rake out a few good quotes if we were actually to go ahead with it.
