The Buddy icon is much more inviting.
But, yeah, I think it has served its purpose (if it ever had one). ;)
Yamaneko
06-25-2003, 04:55 PM
It had one, to annoy through the making of threads asking what it is.
Loony BoB
06-25-2003, 04:56 PM
Aye. I wonder how many mods there are that haven't closed one of them...

Go ahead. Now that we have the journal links it's getting pretty cluttered down there.
Mr. Graves
06-25-2003, 07:33 PM
You have my 'go ahead' to remove it.

*sigh* One last click... I can't remember which one of you got it, but you can pretend it's you.

I'd rather be rid of the stupid journal icons, myself.
I have no objections whatsoever.
Erdrick Holmes
06-25-2003, 08:23 PM
Go for it, th only thing it accomplished is getting people to make threads asking what it did. So yeah burninate it.

I'm with Kishi.

Or better yet, have the LJ/Blog icons be like that "www" icon and be shown if a member puts something down for it.

Yes.
And yeah, I can live without the attack button.

Sure. ;D
Only when I find out how.

as an aside, for some reason the blog and journal buttons on my post footbar have the eOFF url in front of the URL I have entered for each. hmm.
Yamaneko
06-25-2003, 11:40 PM
Make sure to add "http://" in front of the url.
Agent Proto
06-26-2003, 12:08 AM
Hey Bleys, how about instead of having "http://www.eyesonff.com/forums/" as the default URL for the LJ/Blog icons, just leave it blank?
Citizen Bleys
06-26-2003, 01:41 AM
I didn't put in a default URL, the board did that on its own.

it might be tragic except that it's not at all.

How about a suitably entertaining replacement? A 'disintegrate' button, for example?
Just imagine it... you click this icon, and the member's porfile appears. It then dissolves and trickles down off the bottom of the screen.
I pity da foo' who has to programme the special effects, but it'd be pretty neat in my opinion.

It requires quite a lot of small additions to several php files if you want to do it in full (a dozen of files).
If you only care about posts, it will only require 2 files to be edited.
In both cases, it also requires template edition (1 to add, 1 to modify for each for the "post only" modification, more for a full modification).
By "for each", I mean "one time for LJ, one time for blog"

Hell with it, I'm consolidating LJ/Blog. I'll put a "real name" field in to satisfy the people who care about alternating colors.

The text of the icons don't lie on the same pixel line.
Citizen Bleys
06-29-2003, 06:46 PM
*shrugs*
I hope not too many people care, because image editing != my forte.
Spatvark
07-02-2003, 03:47 PM
I think this should do it; I've only moved the text up two pixels, but I think that's enough...
Citizen Bleys
07-02-2003, 10:46 PM
done
Spatvark
07-02-2003, 10:52 PM
I swear the text is in exactly the same place as before, and ai KNOW I moved it upwards
EDIT: I fyou look really closely, none of the text is really in line on ANY of the images XD
Dr Unne
07-02-2003, 11:00 PM
The text should be lined up with the rest of the text in the other icons. The pictures don't matter. I can't even tell the difference though. It's just a couple pixels.
Spatvark
07-02-2003, 11:11 PM
no, the text is in the images right? None of the text is lined up anyway, let alone the images.; they're all off =P

And while I notice it, a rar.gif icon for rar attachments to use, I guess Bleys can just upload that to the appropriate folder, I think it should belong in /forums/images/attach/ :p
