View Full Version : Semi-Bland

Sorry if there's a similar thread to this, or if this question has already been answered, but..

Before I begin, I want to say that this site is awesome. I really enjoy posting here. You admins and site staff have done a great job.

All I wanted to bring up was this: the forums seem a little bland. Now, I'm not one to be saying this, as I am somewhat of a "n00b", but I wanted to see your thoughts on this.

It's not so bland that I won't post; but look at the postbits. All it has is an avatar and location, with no graphics or anything. This is good at some times, but it gets kind of bland after a while.

I know forums are meant more for posting then for looking fantastic (which it -does- look fantastic)....but meh, all I'm saying is, it may help liven the boards up a bit if you made a new style or gave some new features.

Just my two cents.

I'll handle this one.

Go to the profile thing, then go to Edit Options. Scroll down to "themes" and select ed's technicolour nightmare.

You'll never complain again. About anything. Ever.

I'm not complaining, heh. I'm just trying to help out.

As I said, I'm completely fine with the way it is now; but I was suggesting something.

And I went to the Technicolour thing. It's the same as this, just uglier. :O

I suppose I could slam some random clutter in the postbit section if you really wanted. How about a big-arse pic of Tomokazu Seki?

Less flashiness keeps out the riffraff and the people who're easily amused by shiny colors and numberical indications of their self-worth.

Simplicity = awesome.

I like the style as it is. I've seen other forums (FFR, for example) that literally confused the hell out of me. Too much information.

Some things could be better (like this quick reply!), but overall it's a very nice design.

You said it all right there in your first post. If posting is what's important, (and it is here) then I want to see the post not a kalidescope of colours and whatnot jumping up at me. Everytime I go into another Board I'm left wondering where the post is among all of the giant avatars, huge sigs, post counts and a zillion other bits that clutter up the area. I think that this semi-blandness is one of the reasons that EoFF is so great. Stay around and it'll grow on you. :)

Here's a tip:

Profile > Edit Options > Style Set > ed's technicolor nightmare

Problem solved.

How is Profile greater than Style Set?

I think a better question would be: SHUT YOUR FACE DEL. =D

Good question there Linus. Perhaps a career in law is just what you're looking for.
