If we're judging on the songs actually used in Square games and not songs by those artists outside games, then it'd have to be FF9's Emiro Shiratori that's my favourite, since FF9 had one of the best vocal songs in it.

Legend of Mana also has a very nice vocal song in it too, sung by some artist called Annika, and sung in Swedish instead of the usual English/Japanese you tend to find used in games.

I rather prefer the voices of Kefka, Celes, and Draco in FFVI.

That'd be Risa Ohki, and yes, those rearragements of older tracks are good too :p

Tough choice...

Faye Wong has a pleasant, rich voice and is a very skilled singer. Same goes for Emiko Shiratori. Rikki, as a folk singer, is naturally different to those two - she's got a remarkable vocal range, even if she gets a little whiny on the very high notes. But then, that's hardly bad; it's just an aspect of her style.

I'd have to agree with crono_logical. Risa Ohki is pretty glorious, in any of the languages she uses in the FF Vocal Collections. However, since those are arrangements, not actually from the games themselves, are they valid for this poll?

Is everyone forgetting Joanne Hogg? She has a lovely soft voice, brilliant vocal range, and being a folk singer, Mitsuda's songs really compliment her singing style. Pain and Kokoro especially are some of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

Koda Kumi is great because she adds a more pop element to things... (that's presuming adding pop to FFs is going to be a good thing!! *awaits FFX-2 to find out*)

But on the whole I'd say Joanne... Plus she's British so I have to side with her! ;)

Ohhh, they're all amazing, what the heck! :D
