View Full Version : Pruning and such.
I know the EoFF staff is hard at work pruning the MBs of old, space-consuming threads. What about old, space-consuming members that are inactive? Would that help server stress? Like termination after a 6-month inactivity period or something. Just a suggestion from my inner frugalist. ;)

My account would have been deleted months ago, then.
Yes, yes, I know how you all would like that. :rolleyes2

Members take almost no space in the database whatsoever compared to threads, and I'm pretty sure EoFF already prunes inactive members occasionally, anyway. xP
I'm just as unhappy about the pruning as anyone - heck, there were a ton of good threads that I never got around to saving - but what can you do (except offer to pay for more webspace, I guess ;)).
edit: dammit, WesLY beat me to posting.

members with no posts and six months of inactivity should be deleted, perhaps. maybe this is already done.

Eestlinc has a point.
People who would've been inactive for 6 months or longer have probably forgotten about this place by now...

It already gets done.

Scottie was the one who used to do it. I've never done it since he left, but I think Shlup did at least once.
