View Full Version : We need a FFXII forum...real soon!

Thats right. With the game's revealing coming near the end of September at the Tokyo game show the hype is going to be going insane with antisipation! We need that forum to discuss the greatness of the game and post loads of screen shots and make up stories and claim they are speculation off what little information we have.

I agree we need one centralized forum where we can post lot's of <s>rumors</s> facts about the game. But ya FFXII forum needed. *signs imaginary petition*

I no longer care about the FF series after FFT. Do what you want. ;)

Citizen Bleys

I can support making a FFXII forum on a trial basis

Any objections from staff? (Of course, member comments are still valid)

I say let's fuel the hype :p Also might give me links to screenshots, since I'm too lazy to scourge the net myself since I'm not overly interested being without the appropriate console or emulator :p

There's definitely no good reason not to. Go do it, can't hurt anyone.

Maybe this thread can be used for people to suggest witty forum descriptions then? I can't think of anything right now :p

Final Fantasy XII ~ We were running out of money because of The Spirits Within blunder, so we decided to make another piece of software that makes us millions of dollars. A group of teenagers saves the world using magic and 40+ hours of gameplay, or something along those lines.

m4tt
07-31-2003, 10:37 PM
Well since we don't know anything about the game yet, maybe we should wait. :p

Someone must at least know what console it's on, that's a something and a start :p

I say we rip off FFWA and change all the FF forum descriptions to "A group of warriors take on an evil force."

Citizen Bleys

I prefer to come up with my own jokes. Of course, I don't have the manifest genius of Bleys to rip off of.

(shut up, BOU)

Although I think I *will* rip off Yams in this case.

aye, unfortunately.

The Man

If you change it to "save" rather than "saves" it should fit - that's the British way of doing it ;)

Or you could change it to "piece of software to make us millions of dollars" =P

Bleys, what you just said should be the FFXII forum description.

I prefer to have the forum subtitle be "The worlds greatest FF game"...just to help hype the hell outta it. You don't even have to go into the forum to see the HYPE!

Um, no, that would just be incorrect. A group 'saves', it does not 'save'.

Not that it matters, the chainsaw thing is much better.

I'm British, and I say "a group saves" :p

EDIT: Now I think about it, I switch between the two, I think it depends on tense or something, since "a group saves" seems to work in some places, "a group save" in others.

A group saves, but I'd say a group of teenagers save. Bleys' quote would do nicely.

5. Do not be misled by a phrase that comes between the subject and the verb. The verb agrees with the subject, not with a noun or pronoun in the phrase.

The word <i>group</i>, as well as all collective terms, may be used to indicate either a collective itself as a whole, or all the members of the collective individually. Thus, depending on the intent in meaning of the person who uses the word, a verb suited either a singular noun or a plural noun may be used.

But, yeah, Britain really has nothing to do with it.

I actually think it might be "a group of teenagers save."

"A group of teenagers saves" just doesn't sound right.

Doomgaze
08-05-2003, 04:28 AM
It doesn't matter if it SOUNDS right or not. "A group of teenagers saves" is correct, quit your whining. Unless you are talking about something they all do individually, rather than as a group, you use the singular version of the verb.

It *would* be fun. Any threads requiring grammar-oriented scrutiny would be moved to the Grammar Forum, where they would fall under the corrective eye and embarrasing jest of EoFF's more well-spoken members. Innocent bystanders would look on helplessly as their friends would be torn to pieces for an unfortunate typo, or unfortunate lack of grammatical knowledge in general. Its subtitle would be: "AKA The Legalized Flame Forum." Speeec-<b>tacular</b>.

Edit: Again with the freakin' incorrectly-placed apostrophe. For shame.
