I just did this in another thread. Simply typing http://www.url.com doesn't format into a link when using quick reply. Why is that?

I did this before, and found that www.url.com and http:///www.url.com both work when not using quick reply....I'm confused.

*cry*

here, one of the admins should add this bit of code to the bit of the showthread template:

<tr>
<td bgcolor="{secondaltcolor}"><largefont>Posting Options</largefont></td>
<td bgcolor="{secondaltcolor}"><smallfont>
<input type="checkbox" name="parseurl" value="yes" checked> <b>Auto-parse URLs</b>
<input type="checkbox" name="email" value="yes"> <b>Email Notification</b>
<input type="checkbox" name="disablesmilies" value="yes"> <b>Disable Smilies</b>
<input type="checkbox" name="signature" value="yes" checked> <b>Show Signature</b>
</smallfont></td>
</tr>above this code:

</table
</td></tr></table>
</form>
</td></tr></table>youll also want to remove this:

<input type="hidden" name="signature" value="yes" checked>which is found right below the code for the post button.

originally i thought making quick reply as small as possible was the best idea, but then i realised people actually use that stuff. so yeah.

It's meant to be a quick reply though, not a fiddle-around-with-a-million-options-like-normal-type reply :p If people need the parsing URL thing, I could add

<code>
&lt;input type="hidden" name="parseurl" value="yes" checked>
</code>

instead next to the show signature hidden field, so it'll do that. The email notification one is almost certainly bloaty stuff, who on earth in their right mind want's to use that? :p

I actually preferred not having the auto-parse URL thingy, and being able to automatically disable smilies in one's post from quick reply would be a nice option as well, but whatever, this works too :P

If you want to be un-quick, Aaron, then don't use quick reply. Duh. :p Why don't we just put all the options about the quick reply box while we're at it? [/meanie]

Pfft, it's not like that stuff adds much to the page's loading time in any case. Really I think it should be about being convenient more than anything... and honestly pretty much everything else on the reply page can be duplicated if you know how to do it, but not the checkboxes. Well, whatever.

There are a lot of things that don't add "much" to the page's loading time, and the more we use the more they add up.

Also... *kicks eest* It took me like 3 hours to make a Quick Reply template. Give me roses! :aimmad:
