You don't need a rom.

Just download the emulator (I believe EPSXE is the most recommended) and pop your FFT disc into the computer.

....though you'd still need a way to transfer your save file from your memory card to the computer. Otherwise you'd have start from scratch.

Gameshark.... ppffffffffftt!!!!!! :mad: I can bring my characters up more than fast enough (to 50 even) within a short time (relativly speaking) before i even go up against my first demon. :)

Honestly, that's boring though, this last time - i'm going through and am only using unique sprite characters. Giving each a different set of skills, to fit all situations. Taking the time to "max" level each and every one of them as I come across them. Maybe a bit time consuming, but my party never looked more interesting. Mind you as I said... lotsa time involved here, but at least I don't have to worry about my characters resembling my enemies... :p

Hi people!
I'm back again!
I use Connectix VGS, it doesn't need a BIOS... plus, i downloaded epsexe but i could'nt find its BIOS... someone could please tell me where can i find one?
Well, about starting from scratch... that's not that bad, I did it... and now my PC save is a lo better than my PS save...my chars re all almost level 99 (I still didnt take portraits of 'em but next time i promise i will send 'em! plus, hey... someone explain me that img code, i didnt understand it...)
Plus, re-starting is a cool challenge... are you good enough to do it again?
Now about the site without the porn links and other inutile things... just go to http://www.google.com and search for: game name+console name+rom for an example... super mario world snes rom

Hey people! I got 7 new screenshots from my character's status! They are: Ramza(monk)-Offensive Version, Ramza(monk)-Defensive Version, Ramza(Ninja)-Off. Alternative Version, Ramza(Ninja)-Safe Huntdown Version, Wizard-Offensive Version, Orlandu-God Smite Version, and Orlandu-Careful Version.
Next time I'll bring some new ones. REMEMBER: post your cool,strong, or anyway unique characters! And state your opinions on other people characters, including my characters!(i wanna know if i am good or not, and what can i do for developng my charaters further and make them stronger).
Plus... I dunno how that 'img code'' works. PLEASE HELP ME!

Hey Holy Paladin, ever tried to get the Chaos Blade from Deep Dungeon before? It's much stronger then Excalibur :). On the last floor there's one on top of where Elibdis is (You can only get it in that battle) or you can try catching one from a ninja on one of the floors (Can't remember which one...sorry :( )

Offensive Ramza: I like this one. His HP seem a bit low, but I guess his high Faith allows for effective healing from a friendly mage.

God Smite Orlandu: Elemental is redundant. All Swordskill does everything Elemental does (and more), and it does it better. So I'd say you should replace it with something else. If that something else isn't an MA-based skillset, you should really give Cid a better shield. If you have the Aegis Shield to protect against magic, just kill his Faith. Orlandu doesn't need someone casting healing spells on him; he can take care of himself. And that Move on Lava is useless. Nearly any other movement ability would work better. You should also work on raising his Brave, too, so you'll Counter more often.



Zodiac:
Yeah, the Chaos Blade is stronger than Excalibur (about twice as strong). But Excalibur has that Auto-Haste. So it pretty much evens out. Though it'd just be overkill using the Chaos Blade with Orlandu. I'd give it to someone else.

And, actually, you can get the Chaos Blade anytime you want. It's much easier to go for it after you've beaten Elidibs.

About Orlandu's move on lava...
I like to battle on bervenia volcano, it's my favourite, and i use move on lava to create a more versatile character... but when i dont batlle there i use move+3

Now, about the excalibur on orlandu...
i like it better than chaos blade, it gives Haste (orlandu is always the first to attack, except someone has seitemson equipped) and with PA 27 hloy explosion or lightning stab inflicts 999 damage in most enemies, so... i will keep it.

Now, about Ramza being equipped with Chaos Blade AND excalibur...
Well, i prefer him as a monk since monk class ability rules (it is VERY deadly and VERY versatile, and can inflict tons of damage) and knight class ability stinks... well, he could be a squire, but he wouldn't be able to use the monk abilities if he had 2 swords since monk ability need martial arts for working right... i'd have to be a squire with calc abilities, but i dont like it it turns the tide of the game for ou so it's too easy it even gets boring...

If you want just get the conectix VGS.zip file on 4 or 5 post above this one... it is a great psx emulator... doesn't need BIOS and works perfety fast in a pentium 3 500mhz... so you will be able to play FFT on your PC (if already not) and to take some pics and post 'em here!

Well that's no real shame the only real difference then is when you have a higher Brave your physical damage is a little higher (Instead of for example: 912 you hit 920-940, maybe more or less depends how much brave you have now and your success rates are bit up). And a higher faith is the same only for magic damage and success rate are higher.

Just beware that the faith doesn't go above 84 (Not in battle, only outside battle) otherwise they are going to whine that God doesn't want this and they go away (Or something like that, same crap as when your brave is under 10), except for Ramza, who can have 100 Brave and Faith.

I have every character at 96 Brave and 84 Faith (Which is max in the game). Now for how to do it:

- For Brave: Use Ramza's Cheer Up ability, everytime you get 5 brave, 1 brave is permanent. When the brave reaches 100 in battle it doesn't have anymore use till next battle.

- For Faith: Use Preach (Learned from Mediator), everytime you get 4 faith, and yet again 1 is permanent. When Preach reaches 100, stop using it (Watch out that the Faith doesn't surpasses 84 or else they might leave).

The Mediator Job has all the Lowering/Raising abilities (Or use Beowulf's Chicken ability, only I don't know how much it lowers after battle).

Could try that idd, but my method is for all characters :D. Scream is handy because it gives Speed, Magic, and Strength +1 and Brave +10 to Ramza ;)

Bah, faith is overrated. Having it at zero is best; then all you have to worry about is physical attacks, the only ones that are dangerous are the spin attacks monks/goblins use, if you Blade Grasp. I swear that counterattack is so unfair. :eep:

My Ramza's a Lancer with Charge, Hamedo, Two Hands, and Move + 3. I can move 8, and attack from 2 spaces away, or I can jump to almost anywhere (8 radius). With a charge +5 (usually the only one I can get in before their next turn), I can exceed 500 damage, at level 31 in chapter 3. Think about this dude with better equip and levels at the end of the game... go anywhere and whipe out any non-boss instantly. Nice

I just now got a epsxe downloaded and configured with all the necessary plugins. I found the rare bios files. I have my own game discs, but I won't be able to get my saves onto my comp, so I'll start fresh. I'll put up picks in a week or so, or whenever I can get to a good point in the game.

-It's "emulator", not "elumanator", but I suppose there are people who don't know what emulators are =/
-Every emulator (or most all) have options to change the controls to how you want them, and up, down, left, and right are usually the up, down, left, and right keys on the keyboard.

Why does he have weapon guard? Blade grasp is 100% superior.
What's with a main gauche? Why a knife at all? If you want to just be defensive with your weapons, then have a defender and a nagrarock.
Elemental is so weak it's not even funny... try using Draw Out and you'll never want Elemental again. You are after all going for "defensive". How is elemental defensive? Draw out combines great offense with great defense, it's probably tied for the most versatile skill set.

Hey, why a Nagrarock and a defender if you can have 2 defenders? And, elemental is very good. Not cos of the damage, cos of the status ailments. Draw out is rather defensive, very weak offensively, and don't cause the ailments often.
Weapon guard is supreme when you have a feather mantle and 2 defenders. the hit% by the front is 1%, sides 15/20% and back 60%. Could i ask for more? Blade Grasp is not that good when it comes to bows and arrows. Well, anyway i just need to make some corrections to that ramza. I know he is rather weak. Well, what do you think of the safe-huntdown version, and Off. version, and Orlandu's off. version? Tell us!

ORLANDU ROCKS :rock:

You have a 100-Brave % chance to be hit by any physical attacks (bows and arrows included, it's a glitch) with Blade Grasp. So, with 97 brave, you have 3% from any side. And you're putting elemental over draw out? Ok, it can go 5 spaces from your character. Meh. 20% chance for a status ailment. Meh. Rarely if ever goes over 100 dmg except way toward the end of the game, when that is too little dmg anyways.

Draw out, you've got multiple hard hitting attacks that can hit a group of enemies, and any given hit does twice the damage of any elemental. Also, you've got Murasame, as much healing as Cure3 (roughly), Kiyomori for protect and shell on everyone in a 3 range area, masamune with haste and regen for same. Chirijiraden does more damage than you need to kill a lot of enemies, especially with high MA (as in, put draw out on a mage or a good unique character, not a samurai), and kuchiuomo ji (spelling????) can hit at least 8 (i've never tried to count) spaces away, all enemies in the line. And remember, all of the attacks ONLY hit foes, while all the bonus givers ONLY hit your people. Seriously, Draw Out is up with Punch Art for most versatile skill set. Punch Art is up with it because of reviving, status healing, and MP restore. I like Draw Out better, but I have at least 1 person with each in my party. I suggest Draw Out on Beowulf or Reis, because as said, the damage and healing power are based on MA. And one final note, everything is 100% chance to hit :)

Anyways, that's my defense for Draw Out.and Blade Grasp.
