If someone get's banned and regrets it, can you make it so they can get back in but, have to use a stupid name like: "The idiot who got banned."

ps:shuten can you unban me from the chat? I totally apolagize ,I was a total @$$hole n00b who just spammed.

Keep in mind I am speaking of the forums. I am not entirely sure of the chat room's policy these days.

Once someone is banned, they are banned. If they come back under a new account, once found out, that account is banned.

It's not a bad idea you had, yoshi, but by the time someone's banned, they've had enough chances to redeem themselves.

Yoshi, you really need to privately message the person that banned you. Remember, the message boards and chat are two different things.

And Daryl is right. There's plenty of warnings for everyone before they're banned...and really, you have to be pretty rude/annoying/spammy before you're banned from here, or from tha chat room.

yoshi, if you mention anything about being banned in chat around here one more time I'm going to have to beat you with a pole. Seriously. We told you what to do about it, what... five times now? Private message the person who banned you and deal with it with them.

And, uh, what the others said.

I also believe Shuten/dn doesn't post here anyway, so talking about it at the forums isn't gonna help you one bit :p

Citizen Bleys

Huh Bley's?

What was that about banning people who don't use appostrophies correctly?

I mean, BANNING IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE JOKED ABOUT.

Yamaneko

Yeah. You'd really hurt people if you banned them from their favorite place on the internet, which is why the majority should rule. :p

The only time people who were banned were unbanned was during that linus spam thread thing....

Typically bannings are serious matters, and thus, there isn't (typically) a reason for unbanning somebody.

I remember previous administrators unbanning people, but I suppose that is in the past.

Why they unbanned you I'll never know!

eestlinc
09-10-2003, 04:41 PM
That's why they aren't admins anymore.

m4tt

I knew there was a reason!

Dr Unne

The policy has always been that bannings are permanent. People were only unbanned when they were banned by mistake in the first place. Unless I remember incorrectly.

The Model Citizen.

Old bannings are usually undone only after a *long* period of time, and when we think that the trouble that caused the banning was in the past.

Actually, I think TMC was the only time we ever did it. We discuss it a lot, but always wind up deciding that they were banned for a reason and can stay banned forever.

Dr Unne
09-10-2003, 05:39 PM
That was the only time, and that decision wasn't reached easily nor agreed upon by everyone so far as I remember.

Loony BoB

He also wasn't so much unbanned as he registered again, if I remember rightly. But the reasons behind his original banning, if I remember rightly, were extreme personal matters. But I'm not entirely sure. He ain't here no more anyways.

To my knowledge, TMC is the only person to have ever not been re-banned after rejoining the forums, yes.

There were all those joke temporary bannings, and the bans-by-request, too. I think those are the only other times someone's gotten unbanned, yeah.

bennator

Dang it, now no one will ever unban me. *looks at his sexy pink rank*

Leeza

Yeah, sorry bennator0. I'd help you out, but it does look good and I think that the only other possible way to get yourself unbanned is to sex0r an Admin...like The Man maybe. So, maybe you can try that option.

The Man is too single, otherwise it'd be "The Mans" or "The Men". ;)

Single != singular.

Flying Mullet

singular - Being only one; individual.
single - One that is separate and individual.

singular = single :p
