Okay Soul Calibur II has an option for displays when you start up. I can either choose PAL50/50Hz, or PAL60/60Hz. Or Progressive Scan which has a warning so I'm ignoring.

I know that it's most people in here won't have a PAL TV, but can someone give me an idea of the difference, and which I should use?

I didn't know PAL was 60 Hz, it's 50 Hz in this country :p My TV understands both PAL (50Hz) and NTSC (60Hz) signals, so I guess if I had the game, it wouldn't matter what I picked :p As for Progressive Scan, I guess I'd need to check the TV manual to see if it was supported or not, which is what you might want o check too to see what your TV can do :p I'd guess you want to use 50 Hz if you're in the UK too though :p

Pal60 sometimes is supported by TVs, but not always, you can try it and if the image shows up all fux0red (or doesn't show up at all), you know your TV won't support it.
Pal60/NTSC have a better refresh rate, but a lower definition than Pal50. That's why on the Snes, European games would run slower and have the dark frames at the top and bottom.
