well i want to get the white chocobo but im already on the 3rd disk and ready to kick emeralds ass but i want to get the contain materia first, ive seen in a few faq's that you can get it after tifa leaves your party to look after cloud, then you control cid. since im way past that i was wondering if i can still find the white chocobo.

Ohhhhh, that! You mean in Mideel? Okay, right.

Well, all you really need is to go to Choco Billy's ranch and buy a Mimett Green. If you remember from earlier in trying to encounter the little bird, it doesn't approach anyone that doesn't look like it'll feed it. If you have the Mimett Green, feed it to the Chocobo and it'll be happy. Then scratch behind its ear and it'll cough up the Contain Materia. It's a very nice Materia to have, really.

By the way, you don't get the Chocobo itself, just the Materia. And yeah, you can get it whenever you want to.

Yeah, you get that awesome materia.

On a side note, some lame rumours say that you can get a White Chocobo, which lets you travel underwater and run into some mysterious Weapon or whatever. Not true of course.

alright thanks i was starting to doubt that i could get it.
since were talking about chocobos sort of how do you raise there stamina over 999? all 3 of my gold chocobos have 999 and ive seen over that.

No, 999 is the most stamina that your chocobo can have.

Why do you need over 999 stamina? My gold chocobo has less than that and I can beat TEIOH on the short loop every time.

nah, stamina is max 999 for yourself. the only time you'll see any chocobo with more than 1000+ stamina is when you race against TEIOH, because his stamina will always be 125% of yours, and his speed will always be 110% of yours. also, your max speed is 255, just in case you were curious. i've never gotten it, but that's what i've heard.

Even though TEIOH is always better than your chocobo, his jockey doesn't use him properly. Just use the slow accelerate button (Square, I think) and hold it down during the race.

My gold Chocobo really sucks because I just did the w-item trick and sold all the items and got a buttload of money. Then I just fed it every kind of green until it said "it wont have any effect". It just has the most stamina, It's speed is horrible, and all the other stats are mediocer

I'm not sure about the max top speed but my new gold chocobo (which was mated through the longer process of not inbreeding) has 159km speed :D my inbred has only 124

KadajjXIII, all the posts in this thread were made 8 years ago. Chances are they all stopped caring about chocobo racing, got married, had kids, had a mid-life crisis, bought a BMW and died in the meantime. :/
