An ISO is a cd "image" that is a file that contains all of the data from the CD in one big file just about the same size as the CD. ISO's are used to back up cds, instead of making a copy of the cd it makes a copy and puts it on your hard drive. Now, If you want to extract a CD and create an ISO you will need software to do it. I use Nero and it can create ISO's all though they have a .nrg file extension which means you have to use Nero to burn that image. you can also download ISO Buster www.isobuster.com which is a small program for creating ISO's
