animated jpgs

I heard it was possible/the technology exists. Or at least I thought it was. Is it?

If so, are there any freeware programs to do this?

Otherwise no, no animated jpgs :p There's animated PNGs in the works though, to be MNG format, but that's not ready yet, I don't think.
