Yuna says "Everything is connected" Have we really took this into consideration? I thought it was just a cheesy line thrown in but let's consider this...
In Chapter 5, if you jump in the farplane then come back and talk to Shinra you get an interesting conversation. He says "There's so much energy down there..." He goes on to say "It is the very lifeforce of our planet..." Then he says "I bet there's a way we could extract the lifeforce and use it for energy. Of course that would take several generations." Then Yuna says "We could use it to power a city all lit up that never sleeps. Of course I'll never get to see it."
We all know what this means!!! And to add to the speculation, his name is Shinra! Put the pieces together!
