i've been getting all these really neat items which I can use to customize stuff, but I can't get enough to actually accomplish the customization. for example, I won Dark Matter for winning 1st place in a blitzball league season, but I can't seem to find any more anyplace.

so my question is this, is there any easy means to duplicate items like this? more mega-elixers would be nice too since i only found like 4 before fighting Omega weapon.

Most rare items used for customization are hard to come by. Many cane be won by bribing, beating or stealing from the rare creations at the Monster Arena. Each time you do get items from these monsters it is usually 1-4, so it takes a while to get these rare abilities.

You can get many rare items by Bribing some enemies. For example, you've mentioned Dark Matter and Megalixir

Dark Matter x?? Bribe a Land Worm (Sin) with a minimum of 2,000,000 gil.
Megalixir x20 Bribe a Varuna (Omega Dungeon) with a minimum of 280,000 gil.

dark matter

capture at least 5 of every fiend in ALL the areas, including sin, and the monster arena owner will give you 99 dark matters.

i have the american version, so i dont know about the dark aeons, but i heard that they do drop dark matters.

once you use 60 dark matters to get a break damage limit on one weapon, you'll need more in order to do it again, so the arena is a good spot to get more. usually the species creations (i think) will drop two or three at a time if you overkill :D
