I prefer the one without numbers, although I don't think they'd have fit in the limited name space in older FFs on the SNES :p

The one without numbers definately sounds better, but Guu has a point I guess ^_^

Numbers, hands down.

Although I wouldn't get confused with Fire, Fira and Firaga, I would more or less be confused with Blizzard, Blizzaga, Blizzara...wait, I think I got it wrong.

Numbers, definitely.

People who prefer the numbered system are people who would prefer that Martin Luther King, Jr. had been named Martin Luther King 2. In other words, horrible idiots.

"Horrible Idiot" is my middle name, so I vote for the numbered system

Say MLK Jr. had a son whom he also named MLK. By your logic, the people who prefer the -ra -aga system think that said son should be named Martin Luther King juniaga instead of Martin Luther King III (the third). In other words, even more horrible idiots.

Well it just seems to me that fans of the more retro FF's are fans of numbers. Although I just have Kingdom Hearts on the brain right now :D

This (http://www.slackerz.org/strips/20030612.gif) explains it all.

For those of you that have played FF2j, can you imagine how long some of the names would be if they used the Fire, Fira, Firaga words

The ra/da/ga system would be useless in FFII's system, since the spell levels go up to 16. It's an exception.

Sorry, 'kishi, I'm not a Japanese schoolgirl. I don't think it'll work out.

>>> In the FF situation numbers are better..
I dont mind new names for magic, but they better try harder thinking about them.

1, 2 and 3 is much easier to understand. There's no need to be fancy with the spell names. Stick with what works.

I prefer the a/ara/aga thing, simply because it sounds better when chanting the spell. I'm weird like that. =P

i prefer the ra/ga system just because i'm obsessed with FFVI. (when i equip the maduin esper, i see Fira, Blizra, and Thunra. when i equip the Trotoch esper, i see Figa, Blizga, and Thunga). :):):):):):):):):):):):)
