yea, so the summoners are gone, but back in the days of ol' sin, they use to send the fallen, now who does it? the pyreflies just roam free and turn into fiends? and not once does anyone mention sending shuyin... or any of the others... *cough* can yuna still do it, or did she just go stupid from holding her breath for the 2 years... CRAZY!

She lost all her powers as a summoner when the fayths disapeared, she can't send any more.

Yeah, in FFX she sent them to the farplane. Rikku tells you in X that the farplanes is just images of the dead created by pyreflies. Now that Yevon is revealed, everyone knows the truth about it. So why send anyone?

but doesn't someone like Auron in FFX say that the dead begin to envy the living, and that envy turns to hate and thus they become fiends? or it's Lulu maybe somewhere around Kilika. But if sending doesnt send them to the farplane, it must at least kill the pyreflies or something coz they seem to vanish after a sending... just weird...

Do pyreflies even appear in FFX-2? Assuming they do given Lulu's description they would turn into fiends and thus killing a fiend would result in more being created. hmmm. Atleast it gives a reason why fiends never end this time ^.^

I never quite understood the whole concept- I just always kinda accepted it without questioning the whole logic. Thanks for getting me thinking...

This is how I've come to understand it- correct me if I'm wrong. When a person in Spira dies, his/her spirit can become a feind- or monster- over time if a ritual called the Sending is not performed. Lulu stated that they become envious of the living and eventually become consumed by hate and eventually take the form of their hatred. This kinda brings up a question: Auron was dead for a long time- how come he didn't become a feind? Of course, Seymour was a feind even before he died so the whole thing is weird.

Now if the Sending is performed, the person's spirit is then sent to the Farplane- a sort of Nirvana to the religion of Yevon. Yevon is a religion right?

Anyways, from what I understand these things called the fayth are what power the whole thing- right? They come hand in hand with Sin somehow. Aren't they like the unrested souls of the people of the long-ruined Zanarkand? No that couldn't be because there were fayth and summoners before Zanarkand's destruction... Hmm... This is tough...

And these pyreflies... What the hell are they? Soul fragments? That confuses me.

And aeons- aren't they like when a fayth takes the form of a guardian to protect their summoner or something?

Anyways, the question of the Sending still needing to be performed is a very good question. I'd imagine it would still need to be performed. Maybe that's why the Farplane is so unstable and there's an excessive amount of feinds in Spira now. See- even without Yevon and the fayth there's still people dieing. Does that mean that now when people die there- there's no chance of them reaching their final resting place so to speak? That can't be...

Another thing, if the fayth are gone now how can these supposed rogue aeons like Bahamut still exist? It's just all very confusing. Has anyone been able to think this all out???

ummm in Shinra's thing it says Pyreflies are just a sort of unexplained matter and they don't even know what they are.

And Rikku is wrong, as FFX plainly demonstrated when Jyscal hopped out of it and gave you a sphere.

Here's what I think is happening. In Chapter 1, when you go to Guadosalam, someone says that the Farplane is unstable because the Guado aren't there. So maybe because it's unstable, they can't send anyone to the Farplane and that's why there are fiends around.
