Please let me know if you get them and what they say. I tried to fix the connection problem so let me know if you're still getting the error message: "Too many connections".

I had the white pages of death for a while, but it improved eventually.

No problems since you did whatever you did, Cid. Ha, rhyming.

I got the "too many connections" one just now when I tried to view the control panel.

EDIT: And again when I tried to post this post :p

I've not had any problems as of yet.

Everything seems to be working a lot faster. Or perhaps I'm imagining it.

It's faster and slower for me :p

Faster in that the site responds way quicker than before, new pages load much quicker for me. Slower in that images on the site come in slower, since there appears to be a 50 k/s cap per connection (in both directions too from what I've seen), and so it's very noticable if you have a considerably faster connection, but at least the body/text of the page comes in faster than before.

I got that error just a few minutes ago.

Exactly right. I suppose it's alright if you have signatures turned off, though...

No, you misunderstood me :p Signatures etc. load the same as always, since they're not on EoFF, they're wherever people are having them hosted. The images that are on EoFF, like the ad at the top, the banner, and avatars/icons/smilies and other bits and pieces of the forums are the images that load slower for me, since they are on EoFF.

I'm aware that signatures aren't hosted by EoFF, so I don't know why I said that before... xD

I do understand what you mean when it comes to the EoFF images, though. My page stopped for about ten seconds when it was attempting to load the 'Add Reply' button.

i don't get white pages anymore but the pages load noticeably more slowly.

Since you're admin, change the cap. Wait, is it a hosting issue? Then change your cap when loading this page :p

So no more WPOD after I patched it up then?

I can't seem to find an explanation to why there's a banner at the top of the forums. Help?

Cid

Huh? The banner is the hosts that are hosting us for free.

Ah, gotcha.

It's better than the flash stuff or popups, plus it's not animated, so that's good :p

Cid

Just wait, I think it'll become animated. No matter though. No trojans= no problem.

Banners will never be animated. I hate Animated banners. ;)

That banner is non-offensive enough that I didn't even bother blocking it in Firebird. If all ad banners were like that, instead of treating potential customers as though they have the brain capacity of a dog, and attempting to lure people in with flashy colors and dancing monkeys and false promises of great prizes and naked girls and free cookies, maybe ad banners would be more successful.

so how exactly did we get free hosting if calhost charges $99 a month for 1TB of bandwidth? is it because we have such high traffic that we will likely generate a lot of sales to calhost?

Cid

Some people are just nice. And by proving that they have reliable servers (can handle EoFF) for great prices, they're bound to increase sales as well, I'd imagine.

There are several roads I could take with this new server, including paying a monthly fee. I very well might do so.

What is eest babbling about "free hosting"? Is it 99$ a month or not?

Will you be implementing the pay-to-play program soon? Where are my socks?

The fact that we have a host that is actually registered and posting in EoFF makes me very, very happy. Even if it's temporary posting, that's still cool.
