Which songs/albums do you play when you want to relax?

For me, it would have to be the Final Fantasy Pray album, the two Final Fantasy Love Will Grow compilations, the Riverdance soundtrack and the three Lord Of The Rings original soundtracks.

And yourself?

Final Fantasy music always helps me to relax. That and a few of the stations at www.live365.com. There's one called "Morning Music Chillout" (or something like that) in the Dance section that plays all relaxing music. And of course the smooth jazz section is very relaxing as well.

love songs help me chill, not like Barry White, but radio love songs. And slow songs like most of Staind's second Album.

Any kind of song with a slow but not too slow tempo to it.

If it's something by Soul Asylum, The Get Up Kids, or Toad The Wet Sprocket, it'll help me relax.

Dido's "Life for Rent" album, or my FFVIII OST. Slow/instrumental music is generally relaxing.

I can relax to almost any type of music, yes including heavy metal. Music calms me down because it takes away the tension and stress from the world for a moment.

I can relax even listening to System of a Down. Usually though, Ozzy Osbourne(with Randy Rhoads) or Iron Maiden.

Metal is the most calming music in my opinion.

I don't relax, so the best I can get is numbingly comatose music.

Jimmy Eat World - Clarity works well, with some songs anyway.

Goodbye Sky Harbor (16:14), with the fact that it goes on forever and just sounds wonderful is perfect sometimes.

As others have said, listening to music in general helps me calm down, but of late, I've been exclusively listening to the "Return Of The King" soundtrack. I have to listen to the entire album, no matter when I put it in, because it sends me back to that wondrous movie and the world of Middle-Earth itself.

Take care all.

I play anything that seems to match my mood, anything that puts what I feel into words. Like now. :/ I am listening to a love song, it's making me dream you could say.

Depends, to simply 'chill out', anything except Thursday, At The Drive-In and Funeral for a Friend will do. To calm down if I'm stressed, it's rather antitethical, as those three are the best. Get so hyped up, jump around screaming and yelling for half an hour, and I'm simply too tired to be angry or depressed.

For chilling though, DDR music usually does it, or FFVIII stuff. Some female artists like Sarah McLaclan and Michelle Branch work well, too.
