Yes. It's hard for a human to resemble a character created out of a bunch of 1's & 0's (or binary code for you techies out there) :)

I thought the same thing too the first time I saw the commercials for the game, that they were ripping off Laura Croft until I got into the game and saw that the gunner grid was just a small portion of what was going on.
