Ok, I'll give you the answer now. I'll admit that it was very obscure, but I thought someone ought to have got it after I gave out some clues. The answer is character's birthdays and the months of the year they are in. It works like this:

My first yeilded none, (no birthdays in January)
My second, two, (both Aeris and Cid are born in February)
One strong of heart, the other flew,
Third and fourth, the same as the first, (no birthdays in March or April)
To a lover the fifth gave birth, (Tifa was born in the fifth month, May)
Sixth and seventh, no reward, (no birthdays in June or July)
Eighth lost himselft, but found a sword, (Cloud was born in August)
Nineth went by without a sound, (no birthdays)
Tenth was tricky, sneaky, proud, (Yuffie was born in October)

Yeah, Chocobilly proved me wrong in PMs and lots of FMV watching after I posted that. I hadn't really looked into it much. Though you're right that it is a seperate Weapon there's still nothing to say that it's called 'Sapphire'.

Once you learn about this duplication technique, the game is much easier because you can have infinite Megalixers ("Then your troubles shall all be gone"). The line "You've battled enough and now you find" tells me about how you can't get W-Item till very late in the game, so you have to battle without the duplication trick for a long time before you finally can do it. and I've already explained the "you can leave your pain behind"

Its function is not actually containing anything per se, but instead gives you four powerful elemental spells that may cause status effects. You get it by feeding the chocobo in Mideel and scratching its ear.

So that pretty much leaves the other two i guess, and maybe either Aeris or Tifa's (proooobably Tifa methinks) anatomical structure seems a bit disproportional in some parts :) ...maybe ive pinned the tail on the nose of the donkey? Well, It was worth a try :)

I saw your post in this thread, PA, and I thought I'd give it a crack. Turns out the only thing I could crack was my knuckles. :p Here's my reasoning anyways.

There are two of these so-called pure ones.
The connection between the two leads to the third possibly fake one.
One of the two pure ones may or may not have had cosmetic surgery.
They all seem to be female.

... Aren't all three referred to in the riddle?

I have one train of thought that is trying to connect Aeris, Ifalna, and Jenova, and another trying to connect Aeris, Tifa, and Cloud in a non Don Corneo way, and another train telling me to eat some food. I'm hopping on the last one until more hints or smarter people arrive. :D

That would mean that those in the "forces" have something weird about there eyes. The three I can think of with strange eyes are Cloud, Aerith, and Vincent. Cloud is infused with Mako, Aerith is a Cetra, and Vincent, well... you know what I'm saying...

Seeing as how Tifa was mentioned as having Cosmetic Surgery, and Barret has his gun-arm. That leaves them out, along with the people mentioned above.

That leaves Cid, Tifa, & Yuffie!

I'll post my reasoning, but mark it with spoilers while we wait four battousai's answer.

The riddle asks for "the only pure ones in the game." From some of the various clues and hints I took this to exclude characters who are not 100% human, often because of major invasive medical/surgical procedures. We can rule out anyone who's had JENOVA experimentation/Mako treatment because of the JENOVA cells/Mako energy in their bodies (i.e. Sephiroth, Cloud, Red XIII, Zack, Lucrecia). We can rule out Barrett because of his mechanical arm, Aeris because she was briefly experimented on (also she is an Ancient and arguably not of the human race), and Cait Sith because he is a...whatever. That leaves Tifa, Yuffie and Cid. Tifa is arguable if one assumes that she has had surgical breast augmentation (thus meaning that about 35% of her body mass comes from silicone).

To ideally finish the mission, you need to go to the northern cave which is located in the icicle area - a snowy place. The success of the mission depends on the fate of the planet, so they cannot let that stand in their way.
However, Aeris has returned to the planet - and is essentially part of the snow they will walk on.

I'll venture a guess: Sephiroth clones on the pilgrimage to the Northern Crater, in Disc 2. The Reunion is imminent, but some fall along the way, disappearing into the snow. There is a lot of snow falling here.

It could be the whole conglomerate of JENOVA, Sephiroth and the clones. The snow at the Northern Crater doesn't "stand in the way" of the reunion. "Part of us has become the snow" because the real Sephiroth's body has been frozen in the ice in the Crater the whole time. "The snow moves fast" when the ice breaks and Sephiroth is freed.

The us I think is referring either to Shinra or SOLDIER.

A lot of fast moving snow, would be an AVALANCHE. They oppose either Jenova, the Turks, Shinra or SOLDIER, and have been joined by Cloud or Cait Sith. It could in theory be Vincent (I can never remember if he was actually a Turk or not), and the part may be a Jenova part in Cloud. I don't like either of thoseideas though, so I'm gonna go with Shinra as it seems to fit best.

Yuffie and Tifa are referred to directly in the first part of the riddle. The other line and knowing those to hint to the final answer, Cid.

I didn't think of Vincent, but he & Cloud used to work for ShinRa before they joined AVALANCHE...
