A disaster waiting to happen, so far as I'm concerned. What do you think?

You scared me there, Unne, I thought it would be live action. Not that this will be anything great, just a super-long episode. But I think they're about 4 years too late to make anything like this worthwhile.

I'll go see it. Hopefully after season fifteen (once they break that record) Fox will cancel the show or Groening will stop it himself and I can watch reruns for the next fifty years.

well, you never know.

Sounds good to me. They should get Conan O Brien back to help em write though.

I see it as either being an extremely funny or extremely stupid movie, with no middle ground.

I did too. Relief.

Yeah, back in 1995 or so this would've been cool. Heck, it sounds cool to me now, in a way. I used to love The Simpsons. Can't help but feel like this came a few too late, however.

Hahaha, that one's great.

Simpsons movie is a little late... but I'd probably see it.

I really don't watch the Simpsons much any more. I used to watch it all the time, and rumours of a Simpsons movie have been in circulation for ages.

Right now I'd rather watch the film of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy than this.

I think it's already dragging as it is, and since a movie's gonna be like what, 4 times the length of a normal ep at most and seeing how many eps have been done, I can't see them doing anything totally new or fantastic in it :p Yes, I lost interest in Simpsons years ago :p

We all knew this was going to happen at some point, and I'm glad they put it off as long as they did. One last hurrah, I suppose.

Yeah I havent watched much of the new stuff, usually only the reruns of the good seasons, 3 times a day here. Maybe they'll surprise us all and get back to the fun stuff?

It would have to be pretty new and unique to interest me.

The series has been done to death, even worse than Friends has. The movie is going to be crap.

Nothing of interest will happen from 0:06:00 onwards

Personally I thought the historic episode was funny and wish they did things like that more often.

The only good historic episode was the Hamlet one.

I knew they were going to make one. Hopefully the movie will be good. Hopefully they won't have Lisa WHINE the whole way through.:rolleyes2

I bet the movie is no good. It's hard to spread out a premise in an animated comedy for the 22 minutes an episode takes, but an hour and a half is impossible. Just see the South Park movie to see what I mean.

You mean the critically acclaimed movie that was nominated for an Oscar? Yeah, that movie was ing terrible.

South Park was nominated for an oscar? @_@
They didn't even have best animated film 5 years ago, I don't think.

TheAbominatrix

It was nominated for other categories. I believe best soundtrack and a few others.

South Park was an amazing movie. But again, South Park hasnt yet lost its.

Edit: It was nominated for best song for 'Blame Canada'.

South Park was smart to do a movie in its prime. Simpsons is past its prime, sadly.

I'm more excited about the Family Guy movie, even though I love The Simpsons.

If they will make a movie, it will probably be the same format as South Park: BLU. That being a musical. The Simpsons do alright songs, but a few of their newer ones havn't been that good. *hums The Stonecutters themesong*

the south park movie was great. but as del pointed out, that show was in its prime at the time. the simpsons is clearly past it.

bringing conan back would be the perfect way to recapture the old magic, though, i think ;)

Conan wrote for the Simpsons? Which eps/seasons? I need to know this NOW.

TheAbominatrix
02-19-2004, 11:07 AM
Conan wrote for the Simpsons for a while in the earlier episodes. Mainly, if the episode is hilarious, it was probably during the Conan days. Next time you watch an episode, pay attention to the opening credits. Conan also wrote for SNL, to note.

He wrote the Monorail one, and a couple other ones if I'm not mistaken.

Pfft, a Simpsons movie? I'm sure a lot of Simpsons fans will see it, but it won't be all that great. Just look at how the show has been going. It's not even all that funny, anymore.

If it has to do with the Simpsons, I'll see it.
