FF1 and FF2 were remade as Final Fantasy Origins, for the PSX.

There were plans to remake 3j as well but it was cancelled, to my demise, as 3j is my favorite FF.

If you put "Final Fantasy Origins cover" into a Google image search you'll come up with some images to show you what the game looks like. I don't know if you are in the UK/US/elsewhere but the covers are similar anyway.

I'm still hoping they will release 3 sometime in the future!

I've been waiting for them to re-release 3 for like two years. I doubt it's gonna happen, unfortunately. =/ Sucks.

I'd be willing to bet ff3j will never be released in the US for any system.

It actually hasn't officially been released in any form in the US, but it was originally a Famicom game, which would make it the equivalent of a NES game if it had actually been released in the States.

And eest's probably, right, unfortunately. Which is a shame, because the Job system arfing owned. Granted, it was also used in FF5, Tactics, Tactics Advance, and FFX-2, but the more games with the Job System, the better, I say.

I heard that in a cave somewhere there is a playstation disc that has Final Fantasy III and the ever elusive Final Fantasy II-2, where you play a quest as Josef in his early days, but no one has ever come back from it alive.

Well that sucks. FF3j wasn't the greatest FF, but I liked it alright. That is a real shame that it won't get remade. :(

wow final fantasy 2 costs $60 for NES or SNES i don't remember which its for... err... so wich is better the original or the psx remake or is their really any diffrence?

FEOK

It's for both... The NES version is 2j and the SNES version is 4. There are remakes for both, so i'm a little confused on what you're talking about.

Final Fantasy "2" was only released here for SNES; it's really Final Fantasy IV. The proper Final Fantasy II has only been released here for PlayStation, which Final Fantasy IV has also been released for. Given the choice between the PlayStation version and the SNES version, I'd say go with the PlayStation version, as the SNES version had an abominable translation. (Of course, J2e's ROM translation of FFIV is better than either, but it's hard to find these days).

so go for FF Origins over FFII?

The Man

those are two completely different games. go for ff chronicles/anthology over ff"ii" for the snes, though, yes.

I have the ff2e ROM translation if someone wants it.

I don't think the game rereleasing people thought caves where you have to make your entire party midgets and run away constantly or die would be popular with US gamers.
