I know this thread topic has been done to death.

But this forum is slowing down, so I figured I would make a new topic to try and start something up again.

So. What's your favourite city? I haven't played in a while, so I can't really remember them all, so no poll for you.

Mine was Treno. Or Lindblum.

I guess I liked Treno, that was just so... active, I guess. And more fun, what with auctions and card tournies and the like.

But also I liked the damaged, raining feel of Burmercia.

I love the rain, so naturally I like Burmecia. The whole ruins, the darkness and the sadness, I guess I liked it a lot.

Almost all of 'em actually. The design in this game was breathtaking. If I had to choose I'd say Alexandria or Lindblum. Terra was by far the coolest location in the game though.

Burmecia. The music fit well with all the rain.

Bran Bal. Soothing music.

Daguerro. Water, dragons, Gilgamesh, books. what more can you ask for?

I liked Burmecia and Madain Sari, guess I like lonely places...
Oh, and who could forget Condie Petite! Rally-ho!

The Man

wait, you could find gilgamesh in daguerro? i completely missed that.

Sefie1999AD

Yeah, you can meet Gilgamesh in Daguerreo. I'm not sure whether you need to be a level A or a level S treasure hunter to get him to reveal his identity.

My favorite town in FF9? That would be Alexandria.

Lindbulm was very beautiful.

yea, Gil is the treasure hunter guy who tells you your grade. look closely at his four arms.

I'm not sure whether you need to be a level A or a level S treasure hunter to get him to reveal his identity.

I'm pretty sure that you need an S ranking.

He only starts to get nicer from a B ranking and up.

I quite liked Treno it was a fun place with lots of things to do there, and the music was just awesome. *remembers she wants OST*

But it's difficult to choose, as The Man said, the designs were breathtaking, I loved most of the places in FFIX.

You'll love the OST, Xander.

I ordered it a few weeks ago, and it's just awesome, period.

to sate you over until you get the ost:

http://zophar.net/psf/

there should be a link to the ffix soundtrack and a player for that sound format. should sound exactly the same as it does in-game.

Xander

Thanks, but FF9 seems to be one of the games that doesn't have a download on that site >_< Ah well, I'll get it soon....

The Man
02-16-2004, 03:41 AM
It's on one of the sites it links to then. In fact, I'll find the rar of the PSFs and link you directly to it.

Edit: yeah, it's here (http://www.tzone.org/~llin/psf/packs2/FF9_psf.rar) courtesy of this mirror (http://www.tzone.org/~llin/psf/), which also has the vast majority of other square soundtracks

Ah, thanks. One hour 18 minutes left, *falls asleep*

The Man

bad luck ;) It'll still take a lot less time than downloading mp3s of the soundtrack would though. Although a couple of tracks weren't included in the psf rips because apparently there's a problem with ripping songs that're coupled with the accompanying FMVs (which means Melodies of Life and a few other incidental tracks aren't in the RAR, but... i'm sure you can wait for the actual soundtrack to arrive) :p

CLeyra is the town in the sandstorm in the middle of the desert where the other "Freyas" live. Burmecia is the rainy one where the "Freyas" got killed.

:mog: I really liked Alexandria, Burmecia...and I liked Dali's music, it somehow reminds me of Balamb music from VIII.
:whoa: And...*thinks* oh yeah the Black Mage Village!
Oritsuru :choc:

Cleyrans and Burmecians are the "Freyas and other Freyas" :p

Treno is a very beautiful city, and the music is very cool too. My favorite music is still Melodies of Life, but...

I like Lindblum, Treno (auctions are good but kinda boring but worthwhile...sometimes) and...uh....................

If I could choose a city to live in it would be Daguerro. I can learn more about the world and make people argue for fun.

I would also I like to live in Lindblum the bigness and technology of the city would make life comforatable. Kind of like Esthar in FF8.

Aphelion

Daguerreo is cool too, and, by the way, I hated Esthar. I hate big cities (that's why I don't live in Săo Paulo or Rio de Janeiro).

It's sooo hard t ochoose a favourite, or two or three, they were all so inspiring, and wonderful... except mabye Treno. I did like it, but it was the least of my favourites, and had the worst music for the city, but it was still good.

SpiritWolf
03-08-2004, 12:35 AM
I'm going to say Lindblum or Alexandria. Both were both very cool places.

In my opinion, I preferred Lindblum, because it was hub for travelers with all the ports of dock for airships and boats. It definitely appealed to my love of traveling. It was also such a massive city, with so much always going on.

On a side note, anyone else notice the resemblance between Lindblum and Minas Tirith from LOTR, especially on the world map?

Take care all.

It's only twelve days old. It wasn't really such a grave sin to dig it up.

12? Hmm... I thought it was much older than that. Oh well, shows how this month has been going.

Try hitting the quote button, then typing in the box that comes up.
Or you can use the [ quote] [ /quote] without the spaces.

they might all be nice to visit but i wouldnt want to live in that world at all. the cities are either too dirty, too busy, too packed or too raining. the non-cities are too small!

i guess in an ideal world i'd live in lindblum or treno but take frequent trips to other places.
