This may seem a little stupid to Yankees and whatnot, but don't you just love snow? We got snow today for the first time in seven years, and I just love it to death. Of course, it melts after a day, but it doesn't matter. I still love it so much much. Yay! So, does anyone else like snow? And if someone thinks they get too much snow, could you send some down here to Texas?

That's cuz you're a polar bear in disguise! I hate snow. It's dirty, cold, causes ice everywhere, and is COLD

We usually only get snow every two years down here, but there's some supposedly coming my way, so that'll make it two snowfalls in the same year.

We get snow in summer and heat waves in winter, its the true UK way!

Kirobaito
02-15-2004, 03:10 PM
How could a person not like the cold? Maybe someone that lives in a place where it's cold year-round, but that's not the point! It's usually 90-somethin' degrees here, and when it gets cold, I love it, but there's no point in cold without snow! And most of it's melted right now. I gave this guy's snowman a dick. It was funny.

I hate the cold because when its cold its below 0. Like -18 F today. I hate cold.

Bernhard
02-15-2004, 04:38 PM
I require at least 70 F in the shade to feel really good.

I love the snow. Its cold and its really pretty if it falls at night. Kinda sucks this year, because I graduate no matter what in may, so snow days no longer count against me, and we've only had two, and its almost March. But there you go. I wish it would snow more.

ya know what's dumb? I hate getting mistaken for a Yankee. I come from exactly the other side of the country, but to everybody who comes from farther north than Texas thinks I'm a yank. what's a name for Southern people, anyways?

snow is incredibly fun. I get plenty of it here in coldest hel.

Kirobaito
02-16-2004, 03:25 PM
I don't think anyone who comes farther north is a Yank. I think everyone north of Virginia is a Yank. And the name for Southern People? cracker

I like snow but it's partly to blame for why I have the Flu just now, last time I ever go out in the snow in only my boxer shorts:choc:

Zell's Fists of Fury
02-16-2004, 08:42 PM
Going out in the cold doesn't give you the flu or a cold. Viruses give you flus and colds.

Del Murder
02-16-2004, 08:51 PM
Actually viruses prefer colder temperatures so being out in the cold makes you more susceptible to them. So you both can be right!

There's a difference between Yank and Yankee, I think. Yank refers to all Americans, Yankee refers to Northerners. And "cracker" is a racist term.

EDIT: And I like snow sometimes. When it's packable and pretty I like it. Snow in the mountains is alot cooler than snow in flat land.

Kirobaito
02-16-2004, 11:47 PM
Oh well, Yank, Yankee, same thing, I just know I'm not one. And yes, I was being stupid by putting cracker. I guess the REAL name for southerners is men.

escobert
02-17-2004, 12:03 AM
Yeah thats why you guys lost the war ;)
A Vermonter is a real man

"It is gratifying to realize that at each and every call of our country, in her hour of peril, thousands of the young men of our State have willingly and eagerly seized arms and have gone or are going forth to battle for the Union, and to drive back the surges of rebellion. Their valor on every field, and in every situation in which they have been placed, rivals that of the early heroes of Vermont, justifies their noble origin, and proves that the race has not degenerated, but now, as of old, is capable of the most heroic and many deeds, and may be relied upon in every emergency. Any language that I can employ is too feeble to speak their praise; but I may say that it has been demonstrated, and in high quarters admitted, that for steadiness, reliability, courage and endurance, the Vermont troops are not excelled by those of any other State or country." - Governor Frederick Holbrook, second inaugural address, 1862.

You won the war because you simply had more people. We had MUCH better leadership, and much better morale. The Confederate Generals were amongst the best in world history, save Napoleon, Alexander the Great, and Mahatma Gandhi.

escobert
02-17-2004, 01:32 AM
Yes you did have much better morale except the Vermonters. We were the ones on the front lines. And were put there because we wouldnt run. We lost more men per capita then any other state in the war because the Vermont men didnt run they stayed and faught until they couldnt anymore.

Let's take the North and South (man that game was awesome) discussion somewhere else.

I always wondered why in cartoons when a snowball rolls down a hill it keeps getting bigger and bigger. I could never get it to happen.

escobert
02-17-2004, 02:10 AM
I did but, it wasnt on a hill. I had to push it for a long time.

Kirobaito
02-17-2004, 03:16 AM
Yeah, I made a huge fort for a snowball fight doing that. It had 3 floors, four towers, seven guns, a moat, and a primitive telephone system. Uh....okay I'm lying.

escobert
02-17-2004, 03:26 AM
I was liek wtf how'd you do that!? we used to make forts and throw snow balls at cars when they stopped at the stop sign infront of my house. But then one day we were like "hey a slow car! hit it!" then wam (we hit a state trooper) and yeah I guess people called the cops on us. It wasnt fun. If you asked my friend jeff the story he would talk about people getting shot and how it was just liek Nam. but yeah, it was fun.

Kirobaito
02-17-2004, 03:34 AM
Yeah, the fort was just a three foot wall, but the fight was still good. We stole some football equipment (some long pad-looking things) and used them as shields. I'm not sure who won, though.

actually because of all the poloutants in the air we aint getting much snow anymore, although weve been told to prepare for an extreme winter, although in the west of scotland that normally means rain :choc:
