Gettin' back into Midgar? (spoilers, I think)

I've revisited Midgar once when I whupped up the big red robot thingy and Hojo. However, when I later lande the airship outside of Midgar and walk to it, I end up outside the big gate where you got out the first time (on disk 1, I mean). A man is standing there and says he's missing his entrance card or something, and that he think he lost it on "the excavation tour". I've dug around over at the excavation place, but I can't seem to find it. Is it possible to return into Midgar?

Yes, it is. Keep digging at the excavation site, it's there.

I was having the same problume!Many walkthroughs said if you dont speak to the man in disk 2,then you cant get in dousing disk three,but alot of people here said you can...I havent been able to find the key anywhere!

You've got a better chance of finding the key if you dig around the same place as where you found the Lunar Harp (on the top level where the smoke is rising upwards)

But what should I say when the guy asks about what I am digging for? "Good treasure" or "Normal Treasure"?

Normal treasure.

And don't worry if it doesn't show up right away. Just keep digging and do what everyone else suggested, and you'll eventually get it.

um you have to ask for normal treasure i found mine up next to the bones tent up the ladder

yeah, next to the bones...on that quite so obvious "X" that the people scarfed on the ground.

and it also helped me to NOT set up any workers, i dunno why :D
