Whenever Im playing a game on my computer that allows joystick or controller usage and I have a music CD or Winamp playing music the last 3 buttons on my controller trigger themselves off and never let go. I go to my controller settings and reset my game controller which fixes the problem but it comes up again. Whats going on here? This only happens when I play a game or a ROM and I use a controller and I have music playing.

Why not just turn off the music? o_o

Uhh, SS2 doesn't even have music. Try playing a fast paced fighting game with no music. Thought so!!

Check the drivers, then check the connection, if both of those fail, I'm not sure the next plan of action.

Can we have more details, like a joystick name, connection type (ie usb, serial, etc). Maybe we can see something from there, also an operating system would help.

My controller is the interact Propad6, with a serial connection on tbe back of the tower. It came with an install diskett when I bought it but it was non WIN XP compatable so I instlaled it like a normal six button controller.

Ahhhh, ok, I did a quick search at DriverGuide.com and I got a good list of results, so try downloading the latest driver and see if that helps.

The addy (to save time) is:
http://list.driverguide.com/list/company499/

I hope that helps! :choc:

What files came in the download bundle?

I'd guess if there's an .inf plus several other files, right click the .inf and select Install, then go back into the game controller config in the control panel, remove/delete the gamepad, then add it again, and the new controller types should be in the list.

None of these are .inf. I got a few .dll files and a few system files with no extensions in the filenames.

This will not be exactly the same but should be pritty close to what to do as I'm using ME to check this out:

Goto your game controllers panel
Then click Add
Then click Add Other rather then Custom
Then click have disk
Then click Browse
Then browse to the directory where you saved the drivers to
When you reach the directory, double click on the file that shows up in the left hand box
Now click ok
Now follow the install new hardware wizard.

See if that helps.

Nope, the controller still arfs up when I play a game and have music playing at the same time. But why is it only doing this while I have music on.

Does anyone even know why this is happening?

Well if its the motherboard then it must be an onboard video and sound card and its having to deal with both at once. Therefore somehow forgets to stop the joystick somehow.

But if its the Joystick then its just a cr*p one, I'd recommend upgrading it to USB if it is the Joystick.

Try another one (joystick that is) that works, maybe borrow it off a friend or something, see if it works, if it does then its your joystick, if it doesn't then its your motherboard and you need to buy a decent video card.

But hey

Geez, I payed for my controller (8 dollars, good deal IMHO) I recently discovered this was happening when I could no longer kick in Samurai Spirits II.

Have you tried any other control pads/joypads that actually work, Joel?

Perhaps you should try another one. The product you're attempting to use now might be conflicting with whatever else you're running (although I can't imagine that to be the case).
