what was the point in making ffX-2? was it to rip people off?

The same point as making every other FF game Pinky....to try to take over the WORLD!!!

It just continues the story, because FFX kind of left us hanging, and that wasn't very nice of Square. And you know, if they capitalize on the massive success of FFX with a sequel....eh, two birds.
