If I were taking this seriously, I'd go for Seifer, Freya or Auron (Probably Cid too, but it depends which Cid you mean. Presumably FFVII's, but can't be sure)

Really, this might as well be a 'best character' poll, as the hero is very rarely the best character in the game.
