View Full Version : Being a lazy bum is no excuse to not exercise

I spend a rediculous amount of time online, mostly because I have nothing better to do. Anyway, I rarely exercise any more. I still don't, but just now I realised I could do exercises right here in front of the computer while...um...watching anime or something. So far I've figured out one exercise:

Sit really close to the desk. make sure the desk can support being pushed forward by a fraction of your weight (I think about 1/2)

Lift your legs up

Push off the table, tilting your chair backwards. Do a push-up-like motion, working your triceps.

--

I don't have to tell you that if you aren't careful you can fall backwards. Anyway, I commission the rest of you to invent exercises one can do right in front of the computer. Get to work.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

*Falls backwards* . . . Okay, being a lazy bum is no excuse but what about exceptionally clumsy?

That exercise hurts the back of my head...

Rainecloud: are you pushing off the corner of the desk? I dunno, wear gloves or a sock.

I fall every time.

you could sit back and do leg lifts while watching anime and such.

What is this "exercise" I hear about?
GIVE THE KIDS GAMES BEFORE SPORT TAKES THEM!

Wait a second. Don't eliminate sports! I have no problem watching them. I don't play them, but my life would be over if I stopped watching them!

I'll take exercise over heart disease any day, thankyouverymuch. Unfortunately there's not much cardiovascular stuff you can do sitting in front of computer, unless you dragged over an excercise bike or something.

I take the keyboard and smack it about my head.

If you don't move at all and try to put on weight, you'll just end up fat and lazy. If you do exercise while you're putting on that weight, you'll turn into a muscular manly man... *flexes*... like me.

I've resorted to biking while playing playstation. Figure if I can play 3 hours of hockey I can spend a little time not getting fatter.

Continuously clench and conversely unclench your butt cheeks. You should have a toned and tight butt in 6-8 weeks. Other body parts are irrelevent.

saw something on tsn thismorning about that too, point your toes outdard and helps raise the cheeks more. Gees I think I watch too much t.v.

MY ass already looks good. It's nice and muscular, not just 'toned'.

Loser :)

The only time I would ever work out is to build muscles. I have a dumbell rack in my room for just that.

Shouldn't you lose weight first, then gain muscle? Gaining muscle without losing excess body fat = get even heavier

You could try running in place while playing playstation. It wouldn't work with the computer though. Too difficult to type and jog at the same time.

Anyway, sitting at your computer could be considered a form of exercise in itself. Think of the workout you're giving your fingers.

I personally would rather get off my butt and do some exercise instead of hog the screen of a PC.
Apparently you only need to do 28 situps a day to keep your stomach flat. Although that is according to "Glamour" Magazine.

I ride the bike as I play my PS2 or watch many mindless hours of anime. ^_^-

Actually, if you fidget a lot ( Like I bounce my legs up and down when I'm at the computer ) you end up burning a good amount of calories. Also, sitting up straight and sucking and unsucking your stomach in, plus clenching your butt cheeks together . . . rwaor. Follow that and you can be the sexiest computer nerd ever!

. . . or just end up looking really stupid while online. -_-;

Stupid and sexy. That's two good things for the price of one. I have to try that.

Wow, you're all a lot more resourceful than I am. :(

I just joined the rugby team and come home feeling like my whole body is pudding stuck inside of a balloon. Though for all it's worth, getting involved is a good way to get in shape. :)
