(Also posted in the FF6 sub-section, I know)
...a topic about the Luneoire project...
At the base, Lunenoire is a sequel/extension, fan-made, of FF6, with a engine currently being programmed. An ‘”atmosphere’’ demo is planned for release this year, using an Neverwinter Nights module. (atmosphere means that the dialogues and backstory will be adequate, but not the system) The main goal of this post is creating interest in the said project, and publicity.

The core facts : Lunenoire will be gameplay wise much more like, let's say KOTOR than FFX-2. (More PC style than console style). For example, dialogues trees will have a huge role (of course, some characters are going to be better for talking than other : Locke, Célès, Tahiri, for example, with their very high Int. Cyan and Shadow...are better to stick to hack & slash (which can be hard at time). The dialogues are NOT (at all) limitied to ''romance'' style interactions (altought, of course, it's part of it). Like in PC RPGs, the weapon system is skill based-meaning, in general, you can use many types of weapons, with some limit. Those weapons are usually not ''magical'' (meaning, no illimited ammo for bows and firearms, fire damage or stuff like that) , and are used in a realist way : someone with a sword charging at soldiers armed with rifles will end quite dead quite fast. Important note, the combat system will be FFT style (and will be quite fast paced, as two or threes direct hits from a normal firearm will kill a Human character, either a main character or a nameless ennemy soldier)

The cast of Lune Noire (Black Moon in english) includes an astonishing 200 playable characters. And, as it’s going to be very hard to make 125 female characters looks different if we only stick to physical description, all the characters have a well developped background. I must heavily insist on the fact that Lunenoire story is really not ‘’kiddy’’, and there is a huge possibility that some aspects of it may offend...(But this is neither Hentai or Bloodbath) Also, if you liked Sabin, Cyan or Shadow, there are high possibility that you will want to maim/send spam/kill Lunenoire project members. If you liked Célès, Terra, Edgar and Locke, you will find the scenario much interesting.

The storyline, the most developed element, is hard to resume (alone, the prologue iis 256 pages long), but one of the things showcased in it is realism (for instance, human technology is a more than decent rival to magic and arcana, and politics are much more complicated than ‘’bad guys invade good guys’’) It’s occuring mostly 2 years after FF6, and the setting is not exactly funny as in FFX-2…Anyone wanting the prologue have just to ask it. However, as you may have notice by the structure of many sentences, the name of the project and the name of many characters, the scenario is in French.

Don’t hesitate to post ANY question you wish. (And please answer !)

Here is, as a teaser, the short description of a good number of characters (146 descriptions !)

1) Agrias (???) (Female Wraith, Lessaria, Fallen Paladin)
Agrias devoted all her short life to the Church, and was in reward betrayed by her, and burned on the stake as an heretic. After an hellish trial, in which she and her two squires Alice and Lavian were savagely tortured by the Inquisistion. After that, it’s necessary to mention that she did not exactly rest in peace ? She have forsaken all her former allegiances to avenge herself. As a Wraith, Agrias is totally invulnerable to conventional weapons.

2) Aida (Female Human, Past, Priestress)
Aida is one of the healers of Jaina’s troops, a job that his quite intensive due to the intensity of the desperate battles that are often fought. Aida is a scholar, with a hobby for decyphering arcane material. Aida is cautious, and would never use such material : too risky. Unfortunately, Lyvia is not in this case, and her mastery of the Dark Arts, enhanced from such texts, is increasing. Aida is herself more and more worried about what Lyvia is becoming...

3) Akira (Female AI, Ferrare, Artificial Intelligence)
Akira have no real existence : she is ‘’simply’’ an program, designed to assist Humans. She is not a killer computer : her programmer cleverly made her to consider her overrides command lines preventing her to take Human life not as restraints, but as necessary limits. That’s lead to a small problem : asking Akira to take action against Humans strain her overrides, unless the action is well presented. Akira is able to use anything with a interface almost perfectly.

4) Alder (Male Human, Albrook, Recon Pilot)
Alder is a pilot affected in Figaro for reconnaissances missions, as a member of the Archipel Expedtionnary Corps. That unit also train Figarese pilots, a mission that take time and patience, two times that are generally hard to attain in times of war. Alder is a Mainland Imperial, and have a quick temper. As you may guess, he take quite bad the scorn that some ‘’old school’’ Figarese officers have about technology in general...and about Imperials too.

5) Alice (Female Human, Damaskia, Dark Knight)
Alice leaved at fourteen years old her dying homeland with Lavian, to seek fortune on Lessaria. Someone with exceptionnal promise, Alice was soon the squire of Agrias. Her universe shattered soon after, during what the Inquisition name the War of the Heretics...Alice was said dead, but the Inquistion kept her in detention, in case of new confessions were needed. Meanwhile, Alice, undaunted, is slowly embracing the darkness within her...

6) Amarysse (Female Human, Archipel, Scientific)
Amarysse is the opposite of the average Final Fantasy mad scientific : she is working on a perfectly rational project, the Archipel’s version of the Empire Valkyrie project. This include mostly jet propulsion ressearchs, missile systems, accurate long range artillery....That stuff is far less impressive than, for example, harnessing the power of Magic, but it’s work better, cost less, is usable on conventional battlefield, and is far less risky for the whole Mankind...

7) Ambre (Female Human, Archipel, Aide)
Ambre is an intelligent and cheerful person, that the Capitaine seems to have taken an interest in, making of her one of his civilian aides. They are great shadows behind Ambre, however...First of all, altought everything is holding, her personnal history (notably, her family) only exist on paper...a fact she is not aware of. Second point, Ambre is making quite disturbing dreams. Last point, she have a strange trouble of health : she is not aging...

Anarkia (Female Unknown, Figaro, Adventurer)
At first, Anarkia (Fatalité, Fate in old greek) looks like the average Figarese adventurer. She is mainly searching the truth about the death of her sister. She is the aunt of Malintza, and that simple mention is prone to terrorize the rare persons who known the truth about Malintza’s mother. Like Malintza, Anarkia have a puzzling faculty to gain immediate confiance and total support from ecclesiastics that are real believers, and not mindless devouts.

9) Andrei (Male Human, Boréalis, Fleet Commander)
Andrei was a member of an underground movement trying to secure some ships from the huge Boréalis fleet to the main resistance organization in Lancer, the secret society of the Lotus Blanc (poetically name put aside, the Lotus Blanc name strike terror for the ones serving Déesse, as they deal quite well with collaborators...) That undeground movement was wiped out almost entirly by a single servant of Déesse, the quite feared Seldarine...

10) Andromaque (Female Human, Doma, Light Oisellery Commander
Andromaque have the worst quality than a lone child can have in a Domasian noble family : she is female...(Domasians, to put it bluntly, are a bit backward in Lunenoire...) If Kholingenian A.L.K troops, all Marandese and Archipel soldiers and most of Figarese soldiers find perfectly normal the possibility of being commanded by female officers, Domasians are not in this case (Oisellery is a neologism for ‘’Cavalry’’ in a FF world)

11) Annah Shyde (Female Human, Figaro, Counter-Intelligence)
Annah looks like a very average Figarese...She use that for her work : she is the hidden high responsable of state security. The Shyde family is one of the most powerful in Figaro, but Annah is not existing for them : her mother was not noble. But when the Shyde will betray Figaro for gain power in a Quetzal-led state, Annah will try something to destroy the collaboration networks existing in Figaro : a very high-risk intoxication mission.

12) Antigone (Male Human, Kholingen, Partisan Leader)
Antigone is a relative of the former ruling family of Kholingen’s Old Regime. He is also a living paradox : he is a sincere and lifetime supporter of the Revolution, whose opposition to the power of nobility (but not, vital distinction, to the nobles in general) is well known. Antigone relations with the A.L.K. is not so bad : his partisans and the A.L.K maquisards make often joint operations, but they are in concurrence for the future of Kholingen...

13) Antiochos (Male Human, Doma, Siege Engineer)
Antiochos is not noble, a condition that bring scorn in the very conservative Doma. The King, however, was not a fool, and noticed several years before FF6 that his ‘’Ost’’ (feudal army) was going to have serious troubles in cas of conflict. Antiochos, who distinguished himself during one of the numerous feudal war on Doma by mining the walls of a fortress with great efficiency, was sent by the Domasian Crown in Figaro for learn modern destruction methods.

14) Anémone (Female Human, Kholingen, ALK Spy)
Anémone’s methods for gathering data are quite contestable on the morality point of view, as she is the mistress (with insane risks for her) of one of the worst men than the world have beared : the count Orsani, the father of Rachel and Mia, the leader of the Restauration...a monster rivaling Kefka. Miyuki is quite partaged on the question...Both her and Anémone are idealists, wanting the Revolution at all costs...but maybe not at the price of losing their souls.

15) Anzac (Male Human, Archipel, Clerk)
Anzac have been sent to Nakeli, to assist to the installation of many Thamassians and Domasians refugees....Anzac naive side led him to take a disastrous decision : the one to believe that the Thamassian girl in front of him was actually eighteen (the real age of Relm at this date was fourteen, but she was quite flatted than someone believed that she was 18.) Unfortunately, she was not buying Figarese champaign, but enlisting for an Intel mission.

16) Arica (Female Human, Maranda, Medic)
Arica is part of the very small medical service of Terra’s troops. Arica skills are not magical, but purely medical : generally, health care given by her have not exactly spectacular results like curative magic, but on the long run, it’s keeping alive very well (magic have dubious effects on broken legs, or shell wounds...) Arica is better when not employed in frontlines, but in field hospitals. She is a quite viable alternative to curative magic, rare in Lunenoire.

17) Astynatax (Male Human, Kholingen, Soldier-Scholar)
Astynatax is the younger brother of Antigone, and because of their Figarese mother, he was sent in Figaro for his own protection. Currently serving in a Figarese military unit in the Zamara region with courage, Astynatax is profiting of his stay in a city known for the wealth of it’s library to pursue his studies (many Kholingenian nobles thinks-stupidly-that knowledge is a thing useless for military command, as for them, skill in war come only by blood...)

18)Athéna (Female Entity, Unknown, Lancer)
Athéna may offer her help to Locke at a critical point of the story. She appears externally as an exquisite youg woman armed with a sarissa, a lance. With her name, you should have serious doubts about her origin, and her battle faculties. A...entity...like Athéna, of course, is quite picky. She will only help Locke if he acted ethically during Lunenoire (having a Succubi or a Tiefline in his party is not evil. Killing someone surrendering is very evil)

19) Avarielle (Female Succubi, Shéol, Huntress)
Like all the ones of her kind, Avarielle was once a Human (who was known as...Lyvia). Her souvenirs from that life became more and more blurred as centuries pass...Altought she is vaguely amical with Rachel, Avarielle is quite hostile to Humans in general, with one exception : her little treasure, her daughter Tanaris, born in the Archipel few years before FF6. Avarielle love her, and anyone who help Tanaris will gain a partial support from her.

20) Ayane (Female Human, Vector, Combat Pilot)
Ayane have been more than brainwashed...it’s almost as if her soul have been replaced by a combat software (this is an image) She was grievously injured in a accidental crash, and was “’taken care off’’ by Hartz, who profited of the situation to ‘’test’’ some ‘’loyalty enhancing methods’’ . Her life is now an abominable torture, as she continues to think and feel freely, but can just obey to orders (and her controllers are often pure sadists....)

21) Béatrice (Female Human, Jidoor, Informant)
The Protectorate of Jidoor have not exactly opposed a fierce resistance to the Occupation…(Why ? The Warlords were not foolish enough to destroy a city so rich by it’s commerce…) However, not all the population followed their leaders. Béatrice is not a mere spy : she is really a trader, selling quite acurate information. Sure, it’s not as noble as giving it, but she will get tortured the same way if the Warlords ever found the truth about her…

22 )Bérénice (Female Human, Vector, Scientific)
Bérénice almost worth her weight in gold : she is a scientific of the level of Cid (and Hartz), a thing of insane value in those days where the recovery from the Cataclysm is very slow (and the war is certainly not accelerating the process) . Hostile to the Warlords but captured by them, she is a perfect candidate for an ‘’energic’’ exfiltration by the Archipel. The problem is that Bérénice is without pair in comparative biology, but a public danger with a weapon…

23) Bria (Female Human, Figaro, Mech Commander)
Bria was conscripted into Figarese army, and showed great aptitude. She was transfered in the elite Second Infantry Division, to be sent into the ill-fated battle of Karas, which ended into a fierce fight in the lower zone of the region. She is unaware that during this hard battle, she was, let’s say infested, by an abomination of the Ennemy, the Ravager. The conscequences of that will be horrible for her, because when the truth will arise, she will become a pariah.

24) Bridget (Female Human, Vector, Special Operations)
Bridget, a veteran of reconnaissance missions deep in ennemy territory, was a member of Night’s ill-fated Intelligence team at Albrook. She was captured like all others. Unlike the others, she was spared, because as the closest friend of Night, she was kept for the end : Night breaked when it was her turn to be executed...Bridget remained in detention, to be later exchanged. Her souvenir have quite an influence on Night’s little brother, Thibault.

25) Capitaine (Male Human, Vector, Commander/Intelligence)
The Capitaine was Célès Chere first superior officer-and the only one she ever respected. His carreer never go very far because of it’s quite clear opposition to Kefka’s policies. The Capitaine (his absence of name is just a gimmick) is renowned for having play a great role in keeping the Archipel in one piece during the Cataclysm. Like Célès Chere (and unlike most of the Warlords), the Capitaine did not consider with scorn civilians authorities, far from it.

26) Cedra Quetzal (Female Human, Vector, Elite Pilote)
Cedra’s family was almost wiped out during the Esper attack on Vector. Every one except her father...who is right now of the most efficient Warlords. Quetzal’s really cares for Cedra (nota: in a totally normal way), and try to keep her out of some of the aspects of his way of making war : Quetzal indiscutablty commited crimes against humankind. Cedra herself is against that (but not against her father...) and she will ultimately desert to join the Archipel,

27) Célès Chere (Female Human, Vector, General/Adventurer
Célès Chere is without doubt the best general of all factions, her mere presence boosting the morale of the troops under her command, undermining those of the Ennemy. That said, Célès have a puzzling trait for a general : she hates warfare and the destruction and losses of life that come with it....Célès have a desserved almost-goddess situation in the Archipel, where she played a key role in the Liberation of the islands from Order and Honor.

2 Celia (Female Unknown, Unknown, Dark Sorceress/Seducer)
Celia appeared during the Heresy Warr as a quite seductive assassin, on the side opposed to Renard’s group. Her master dead, she is now free to do what she want. She is a quite special mercenary, never wanting gold or material stuff (to do what ?), mainly wanting to entertain herself (of course, seducing and toying with humans is quite a form of entertainement...) If she encounter resistance (like for Renard), it’s merely spiking her curiosity...

29) Chrysanthème (Female Human, Archipel, Figarese High Command)
As the youngest member of the High Command staff, Chrysanthème have been labeled also as the more expendable. So she have be sent in the bessieged city of Figaro-South, to assist the local commander (Cyan). She also have personnal orders (but oral, putting her in a hard position) from the King to, in the case of fall of the city, make sure that no military material fall into the hands of the ennemy : and it’s really not a far fetched hypothesis....

30) Corail (Female Human, Mandalia, Thief)
Corail’s small village was burned at the end of a civil war, leaving her few choices but to join a group named the Brigades Noires, only for the food. Her first skirmishe was a disaster, as her group was decimated. She was the only survivor, because it was Flora and Renard who found her, and spared her She joined their small group after, and make with them the War...(By the way, in French, the Death Star became the Étoile Noire. So Brigades Noires...)

31) Corinne (Female Human, Andoral, Dark Priestress)
Corinne was a young priestress sent to kill or capture Orta...who destroyed her companions without the slighest trouble. When she noticed that Corinne was still alive, however, she did not achieve her, viewing the possibility of making an ally out of her. She converted Corinne to her cause by unknown means (but involving freewill, not brainwashing), and the duo is now sowing Chaos in all Western nations. They are currently in the land of Cypria...

32) Cornelia (Female Human, Vector (Past), Aide)
When Jaina found surprising allies in the region of Inorshe (Narshe), she sent Cornelia for assisting them in the best way she could (altought they did not require the said help) Some cryptic reflexions by the said allies about the outcome of the War of Magi really intrigued Cornelia (as they did for Jaina and Lyvia), but she was reduced to mere hypothesis about their goals. It’s only later, as they did not have much choice, that she learned the truth...

33) Cortès (Male Human, Figaro, Cleric)
The youngest of all Figarese bishops, Cortès is surprisingly (sarcastic) the most dynamic. As his évêché desert city of Zamara is being threatened by Quetzal, Cortès is more than making his part for the defense : organizing field hospitals, shelters into the caves of the cathedral....Edgar find it’s a positive change from the attentist attitude of many others bishops and cardinals from the Church, whose attitude against Quetzal is a bit ambiguous...

34 )Cyan Garamonde (Male Human, Doma, Knight)
Some realities are had to face, like the one that oiselery charges are no longer what they used to be (especially when the ennemy have minefields, machineguns, tactical aviation, campaign artillery, and bipods) Cyan courage and skill at the sword remains as deadly as they were in FF6, but it’s ultra-conservatism side is seriously impairing him. He is a perfect troop leader, but for the grand strategy or the modern tactic, Célès is without doubt far better.

35) Cyzania (Female Human, Issaria, Mercenary Leader)
Issaria, the realm that pretends to be heir of the fallen great empire of the Central Sea, have fallen on hard times : the corrupts Basileus of this realm usually last around one-two years, before being assassinated. Cyzania grew up into this poisonous climate, and was exepelled from the capital after one of such plot, toward the frontiers zones. In the chaos of this place, Cyzania had no trouble raising her own little army, to use at her own ends…

36) Dantès (Male Human, Kholingen, A.L.K. Special Operations)
Dantès is the responsable of one of the most vital service of the A.L.K, the communications between the different cells in Kholingenian territory. It’s mainly done by messengers, who are sure of a painful and long death if they are catched…So, Dantès only pick for his service the best recruits of the A.L.K, and they are so trained that they are often used for the ‘’spec ops’’ of the revolutionnaries (It’s important to note that the ALK is really not a ‘’funny’’ rebellion)

37) Desaix (Male Human, Empire, Artillery Specialist)
Desaix was originally into the prestigious Imperial Guard, but as he stated his serious doubts about the sanity of Kefka, he was affected to posts like meteorogical stations in the great North. (the newly promoted General Chere recuperated him some time after...for her, opposition to the monster known as Kefka is far from being a default...) Now in the Archipel, Desaix find much to do in his speciality, as the Archipel have artillery in huge numbers...

3 Dniers (Male Human, Empire, Civilian Defense Responsable
One of the new nation in Lunenoire is the Archipel, who was actually liberated from a corrupt regime named Order and Honor by the Imperials (with a certain Lieutenant Célès Chere in their ranks). Dniers, a long time member of the Resistance, is now of of the five members of the (elected by universal suffrage) ruling body of the now independant Archipel, the Directoire. Dniers did his job quite well, as civilian casualties are relatively limited...

39) Dora (Female Humain, Kholingen, Not Applicable)
Dora, a young niece of Antigone, have for parents a couple of harcdcore tenants of the Old Regime (both figuring quite high in the A.L.K list of war criminal to put on trial). The A.L.K is not targetting her in any way, as she never manifestated orientation for eitheir side (she is critically ill in any way, having a hearth malformation)....It’s after the victory that things will change, as an digusting story (in which Dora is not guilty), but true, slowly spread...

40)Drake (Male Human, Figaro (Past), Knight)
Drake is Jaina’s best lieutenant, known for his perfect correction (very chivalric with his ennemy and with civilians). The...intimate...feelings between the two are not known, Jaina being a bit...cold (icy, rather) on such matters. Anyway, the two have much to do in the current war...A mission that Jaina gave him-bring reinforcements to her bessieged positions-will be known by future generations in a way that would have made her scream....

41)Écume de l’Aube (Female Human, Nisen (Past), Adventurer)
Écume de l’Aube was, like Jaina, an orphan. Their childhood was not Oliver Twist style, as their foster mother really cared for them. Unfortunately, she was killed by pillaging soldiers when Jaina was ten and her six...Both survived long enough to become feared warriors. Écume de l’Aube, however, unlike her beloved ‘’sister’’, prefers to live as the traditional adventurer, seeking artifacts. Her tragic death will affect terribly Jaina...

42) Edelweiss (Female Human, Essaria, Rebel)
It’s paradoxal, no, to give the name of mountain flower to a girl living an almost aquatic life ? The realm of Essaria on Lancer is mainly built on a huge lake, and it’s almost true that Essarians learn to swim before walking. Life on Essaria itself is not easy, however, as Déesse rule is always quite harsh. Edelweiss, offered to Déesse by her own family and unwilling to do so, is currently-and despesratly-trying to flee from Essaria as fast as possible...

43) Edgar Figaro (Male Human, Figaro, Commander/Knight)
Under pressure, Edgar have been revealed as one of the greatest Kings that Figaro ever had. The Desert Kingdom may be bessieged by the Ennemy, but the resistance is always increasing. Edgar is particulary skillfull in the art of deception, sowing dissenssion in ennemy ranks, particulary in those of the Figarese traitors that want the triumph of Quetzal ; Edgar very progressive views for the future of Figaro have angered many hardcore retrograds...

44) Ellasame (Female Human (Altered), Templar, one of the four Tears of Déeesse)
Ellasame real existence is really questionned on Templar, as her apperance in all the wars of the Holy Land (and those before) is suspicious : the first reported sighting of her was during the Fall of the Empire of the Central Sea, one millenium before the Siege of Scion during the first Holy Land War…Whatever is the truth, seeing her is really not a happy presage : she usually announces new wars and new destructions, a role quite fitting to her appearance...

45) Enguerrand (Male Human, Cypria, Comnmander)
Enguerrand is widely known as the only man that ever touched ther heart of the Countess Geneva, whose county is certainly one of the richest realm in Templar. The reason for that is that Enguerrand is Geneva’s only child (nota : the relation between the two is NORMAL) Altought she never even liked his father, Geneva is very fond of her son. Enguerrand’s education was flawless, and he his a quite promising leader, both for war and peace.

46)Erin (Female Human, Vector, War Correspondent)
Both Figaro and the Archipel (in opposition to the Warlords) are firm believers in the danger that any form of propaganda pose. So, there is almost no censorship in their medias, and journalists are authorized into most warzones. Erin volonteered for the Marandese front, the one where there situation is the most desperate. Her problem is that in addition to the bullets and shells from the ennemy, she also risks to get a knife in the back….

47)Evayne (Female Human, Vector, Officer)
Major Evayne, a quite competent officer in the elite Imperial Guard, choosed to return to Vector-or rather, what was left of Vector-after the Fall of Kefka, for helping in the rebuilding. Unfortunately, Vector was one of the first target of the Warlords, because of it’s several almost intacts arsenals, war factories...Two times exiled, she then rallied the Archipel. Evayne can make either a quite decent modern combattant, or a quite decent commanding officer.

4 Fée-de-la-Lune (Female Human, Figaro (Past), Wizardress)
(This is a real Chinese mythological name ) This exceptionnal enchantress is supposed to have founded after the War of the Magi the current Kingdom of Figaro. BTW, there are several versions of her adventures...some are ladden with moral lessons (the least popular ones), some others are detailing ‘’her sentimental life’’ (hmmm....) in a very graphical way (those versions are quite popular, strangely). The truth about her have yet to be found...

49) Fentan Sjaller (Male Human, Archipel, Elite Pilote)
The Sjaller’s family came from Jidoor, and was one of the heaviest support to the hated Order and Honor regime. With exceptions : the uncle of Fentan (and Fentan himself) were against the such regime. His cousin Kyria, with an Hasai mother, was considered as a shame to the family (like all her brothers and sisters). Fentan finally stopped to just be a silent dissident when Kyria barely escaped death, due to his father. He rallied with her the Resistance.

50) Flora (Female Human, Lessaria, Archer)
Flora is Renard’s twin sister (older by fifteen minutes !), and her true name was Fleur d’Abricot, their mother being quite poetic. Flora and Renard were renowned even as cadets for their marked preferences for unconventional methods (anything short of charging at an ennemy while yelling was dubbed as ‘’uncivilized and coward tactics’’). She is one of the deadliest Lessarian archers, a thing that will greatly help the Murians to accept her...

51)Floriane (Female Human, Figarese, U.N.C ‘’Juge d’Instruction’’)
The UNC is not a funny organization...It’s the United Nations Court (of Justice), made by magistrates from Figaro and the Archipel (the only totally free nations) for judging the captured Warlords criminals (accused of war crimes, but also of crimes against humankind). Saying that the debates of the UNC are heated is a euphemism, but the trials are fair. Floriane’s job as unfortunately no equivalent in US justice, so it’s not possible to translate...

52) Foix (Male Human, Cypria, Squire)
Foix is a simple squire, from low nobility, whose eventual future heavily depends on luck. And Fortune indeed smiled to him : Foix is the only living person to have encountered the Sorceress Orta when she was not wanting to be found...and survived to tell it. Wild tales of magical resistance, divine protection and other stuff ignore the critical detail : Foix was not attacked for the simple reason that he was the only one not acting hostily against Orta...

53) Gau (Male Human, Veldt, Ranger)
Gau language skills significantly improved in the last two years (except the infernal invention that’s called in french the participe passé. Let’s say irregulars verbs for you). His skills from FF6 prove quite useful in Lunenoire, as Gau can live on the land in almost any place, making him a fantastic scout. He will be affected to Night mission in Albrook, being fully qualified for such operation-unlike his Second War of the Magi companion, Relm Arrowny....

54) Geneva (Female Human, Cypria, Leader)
Countess Geneva is not leading the life of the average princess (being kidnapped by a dragon, rescued by a hero...or a plumber ?) : her rich island county of Cypria is the sources of many convoitises from most of her family in law since the death of her husband in the Holy Land wars. She took the matter in hands personally, and dealed with paid assassins, mercenary armies, baronial revolts with ease. She have a new problem, however : Orta.

55) Ginger (Female Human, Vector, Pilot)
Pilots have always a reputation of being reckless to the point of insanity. The average Archipe or even Warlord pilot is not like this...but Ginger is certainly sticking to this description. Like Romanova (and, in fact, almost all the modern arms personnel...), she is having repeated clashes with Domasians and old school officers, particulary the generals Cyan and Sabin, who considers aircrafts as expensive toys (that consideration not alien to their poor performance)

56) Glycine (Female Human, Archipel, Mech Pilot)
After the Liberation, Glycine, an indiscutable member of the Resistance, lied to help her brother, who was a member of Order and Honor (she pretented he was too in the Resistance). This act of pure goodwill was really unrewarded, as the said brother never switched allegiances, and is even blackmailing her sister for getting technical informations about the prototype Archipel equipment she is testing, especially the all-new T-34 Shark mech.
57) Halde (Male Human, Figaro, Royal Guard Commander
Halde is the commander of the elite Figare Royal Guard, an unit that never surrendered (or fled) in face of an ennemy since the foundation of the Kingdom (their casulaties are often quite high, however). Halde is himself totally loyal to the Crown of Figaro, but several others officiers in this prestige unit are targeted by the ennemy for corruption (and for obvious reasons : the Guard is charged with the rapproched protection of the royal family)

5 Hans (Male Human, Maranda, Temporary Governement Member)
One of the few success of Figaro and Zander in the early days of the war was to liberate Maranda from the (inept) Warlord Daeril. Unfortunately, that soon brings several elite divisions at the Marandese frontier, and panick in the Temporary Governement. Some members tried to strike deals with Quetzal, but others, including, Hans, are totally outraged by this treason, and try to stop them the best way they can, including by plots...

59)Haydée (Female Human, Archipel, Pilot)
Haydée was sent to Figaro to help with the accelerated training of Figarese pilots (because, quite logically, skilled pilots are harder to get than aircraft that can be mass-produced), and is quite liked in the small Figarese Fighter Command. Conventional aviation (aircraft, not airships) play a huge role role on Lunenoire, and altought very loosely based on the design of the air units of the IAF in FF6, it’s a very realist role, certainly not a ‘’funny’’one.

60) Hélène (Female Human, Archipel, Recon Pilot)
The thin-framed Hélène was a perfect candidate for the high-speed recon units, aircraft stripped of all useless stuff except engines and high fidelity cameras (the said useless stuff includes heavy weapons and armor, making those missions quite dangerous if the craft is localized by the ennemy radar defence) . Hélène have noticed something very strange in one mission in high atmosphere, but as her sensors did not register it, she is reluctant to talk….

61) Ian (Male Human, Tzen, Specialist)
Major Ian is a veteran from the heavy cruiser Galatéa, whose role was critical in the Liberation of the Archipel. Ian would give his life for General Célès Chere without hesitation-and as General Chere is quite econome with the life of her soldiers, Ian loyalty is even more enhanced. Ian is the responsable for the highly specialized airbone (gliders) or naval boarding operations (and in a Final Fantasy world, the two may be combined...)

62) Imoen (Female Human, Albrook, Pilot)
The lovely Imoen came from the Mainland (where most of her familiy was killed by Warlords, and is now ‘’resting’’ in a mass graveyard), and is the wingman of Fentan Sjaller in Alpha Squadron. She specialized herself in the difficult task of analyzing data from the not exactly accurate radar system, and will several times distinguish herself in the Figarese Campaign. It’s quite obvious also that she have some very tender feelings for her leader...

63) Iqua (Female Android, Unknown, Rogue)
Iqua was built to imitate Humans, to a point that lead to serious questions about the sanity of her conceptors. During the milleniums that separated her creation from the present date, she managed to gain freewilll...to do what ? The fact is that Iqua was programmed to be an Human is not helping : frankly, it’s pretty useless...Iqua is not very stable ‘’mentally’’, having be betrayed or treated like a slave many times by Humans she was trusting...

64) Iris Chere ( ??? You read well. It’s Chere) (Female Human, Tzen, Any Classes)
Iris awakend in a military installation in Tzen, and was hastily told to get away as fast as possible (due to a complex plot from Quetzal). Externally, she is a black-haired, blue-eyed appearing to have fourteen years old, with a remarkable intelligence (and for a reason that she ignores, many look at her strangely). The name ‘’Iris’’ is in fact a codename : Iris is the name of the ‘’messenger of the Gods’’ (forget the God part, focus on the ‘’messenger’’ part...)

65) Ithilia (Female Human, Muria, Commander)
Ithilia is rumored to be apparented to the current Queen of Muria, but as no non-Murian have been ever allowed to enter and leave the proper city of Muria, such things are hard to confirm...Ithilia is a great commander, despite her young age (26), in charge of the defense of the Hiigara frontier fortress. Renard’s group being the target of the Inquisition (Muria’s destruction is a fixation of the Inquisistors), Ithilia is quite willing to grand them asylum.

66) Jaenra (Female Human, Boréalis, Priestress)
Jaenra willingly joined the ranks of the followers of Déesse, losing (litterary speaking) her soul...She tried to not sever totally the ties with her family, but both her mother and father renegade her. The only one still speaking to her is her younger brother Jaks (and in secret). Jaenra managed, using her great influence (Déesse have a certain liking for her...) to spare him the forced join in the army. Jaks really hope that she can help him to save Lorien...

67) Jaina (Female Human, Nisen (Past), Commander)
Jaina was found as a baby in front of a temple in Nisen. Time have passed, and she is now one of the best commander of the War of the Magi. A succession of clever strategic moves will allow her to sustain an incredible siege in the city that will be known as Vector. But the Ennemy have almost infinite ressources, and Jaina is growing desperate...or rather, prone to desperate methods. Other detail, because of her eyes, she is known as the Rose of War...

6 Javier (Male Human, Vector, Pilot)
Instructed by the precedent of Ayane (who was reported dead), Cedra, when Javier crashed too, categorically refused to let him in the hands of Hartz. As a result, Javier is much more loyal to Cedra than to the Warlords (he was conscripted, and would certainly have deserted for the Archipel if he had found the occasion. He is Cedra’s wingman. and men-of-confiance. Of course, there are some rumors about their exact relationships (false rumors).

69) Jean (Male Human, Doma, Regent)
The king of Doma died in FF6, but in Doma, kings never really die (it’s just a figure of style for saying that the second he died, his succesor became the King). Unfortunately, the closest parent he have was a ten years old boy...A regent was needed, and Jean (his uncle) was choosed. Jean was certainly the best choice (he is very loyal) possible, but unfortunately, due to a dark treason, the little King was captured by the Warlords during the invasion....

70) Julia (Female Human, Vector, Military Aide)
Julia, the first military assistant of the Capitaine, live to prove to the world that Imperials are not all monsters like Gesthal, Kefka and Quetza (she is herself an Imperial from the continent). She is personally a clever troop commander, especially for sieges (and on close level, she is an slightly above average combattant) Julia’s attitude toward Ambre is a real enigma (especially for Ambre herself) ; the fact is that she knows the truth about Ambre.

71) Kyria Sjaller (Female Human, Archipel, Elite Pilot)
Kyria mother’s was an Hasai, an ethny often persecuted by far-right extremists (there is a QUITE clear parallel with an Earth concept here). Order and Honor was such a regime, and Kyria first years were miserable...All her family was killed some months before the Liberation, and herself barely escaped with her cousin Fentan. Physically, her health is permanently crippled from the assault : she have no hope of living above 25 years old.

72) Laam (Female Human, Igros, Healer)
Laam is trying to compensate for her past passivity, as she escaped the wrath of the Inquistion because a sort of gentleman agreement her brother have with the King (Laam is a pseudonym, but her real identity is REALLY obvious) Lavian and Alice have a more than mild dislike for her (it’s perfectly understandable) Laam herself have been not trained very efficiently for combat, but her healing skills (both natural and magical) easily compensate for that.

73) Laetitia (Female Human then Altered, Figaro, Soldier then Huntress)
Laetita was a simple Figarese soldier, conscripted. She was lucky in a sense : one of her first affectation was the all quiet North-Figaro, under General Sabin command. (How you guessed that this was not in fact a quiet place ?) During that time, Laetitia was injured to death...and in fact died. At this time, the modest garrison was down to less than five soldiers, and Sabin, desperate (and without formation) tried something took on the ennemy labeled as digitalin...

74) Laodicée (Female Human, Archipel, Botanist)
Imperial past genetic research was quite dubious (first, it’s was always blowing out the credits, and then it’s played a part in blowing out the whole world, the kind of thing that lead to further credits cuts). So Laodicée, one of the geneticians of the Archipel, is sticking to totally inoffensive projects, like determining what kind of wheat is the more suitable for Figarese climate. But her analysis of some flora from the Karas region will cause a shock…

75) Lara Narkel (Female Human, Vector, Assassin)
Lara, under the name of Ange Déchu, was trained-and brainwashed-to kept in check the Imperial Court-by killing ploters. One night, profiting of a emergency situation, she allied herself with a target she had to bring back in control : Terra ! For escape, Lara betrayed her and let her fall back in the hands of Kefka....Lara was later helped by Locke and Rachel.. Ange Déchu felt very guilty about Terra...who hate her. That put’s Locke in a hard situation.

76) Lavian (Female Human, Damaskia, Dark Knight)
Lavian is the lifetime friend of Alice, and the Inquistion mercilessly toyed on that, threatening her to harm more Alice if she was not cooperating (of course, the reverse threat was made to Alice...) Lavian sanity shaterred during that constant pression, the guilt of being flagged as an heretic not helping...Alice is far from abandonning her, even in the more than dire circumstances. Lavian’s state is not irreversible...but it’s complicating things even more.

77) Lede (Female Unknown, Unknown, Dark Sorceress/Seducer)
Numerous are the Humans that have say to Lede that she was ‘’drop dead gorgeous’’. Well, it’s not totally false, as there are a lot of corpses on the path of Lede. As Celia’s, Lede magic (especially for the Dark Arts) is quite powerful…However, having Lede in a party is a bit dangerous, especially for Lavian and Alice. The problem is that Celia and Lede are very interested when they see the two ex-Knights taking a path more and more darker…

7 Leih (Female Human, Figaro, Specialist)
The widow of the Royal Guard capitain Nox, Leih is renowned for never giving up when she is tracking a ‘’prey’’. There is a slight detail : she is not a bounty hunter or stuff like that, but a member of the Figarese equivalent of the I.R.S. She use her skills to track down and dismantle the numerous money sources of the Cinquième Colonne(it’s a generic word in Lunenoire-and in France and Spain-for designate traitors and collaborators)

79) Lia Narkel (At first Female Human, At first Vector, Naval officer)
When the Empire started the Magitek project, Kefka was not controling it, so there was humanistic measures took for the children (also for not get sociopaths Magitek Knights...) Lia Narkel, who have lost her own child , volunteered for caring for those children. She immediatly liked Terra, and is the only Imperial officer that Terra ever liked (Célès included). Lia was on the verge of adopting Terra when she died (she have a very dark secret...)

80) Lilith (Female Unknown, Shéol, Dark Sorceress)
Very few is known about Lilith, who qualify herself only as a a ‘’One of the Fallen’’. She thrive in making complex deals-with a clear intention of backstabbing-with the Humans that are foolish enough to triffle with the Shéol. Lilith is however quite friendly with Avarielle and Rachel, and the key of gaining her help-or at least her neutrality-is to pass by those two. In all cases, altought she is deadly, Lilith is only actually usable in precise circonstances.

81) Lloth (Female Drone (Altered), Unknown, One of the four tears of Déesse)
The ‘’creator’’ of Lloth was a very harsh man, wanting her to became a great asset in the war Mankind was waging against the Ennemy. Lloth was by ‘’nature’’ very good-hearted. She changed very slowly...but constant pressures and bad treatments pushed her over the edge, and she killed him in a outburst of rage. That shattered her sanity, and milleniums later, she is rivaling Phaere when it’s time to speak about total obedience to the wishes of Déesse...

82) Locke Cole (Male Human, Kholingen, Adventurer/Rogue)
Locke is now very....close...to Célès Chere, and totally loyal to her . As Kholingenian, he always had deep sympathy for the Revolution cause, and deep antipathy for the aristocraty. After Rachel’s death and the Restauration sponsored by the Walords, this is now open hostilities. Locke is in very good terms (friendship) with both Terra and Lara Narkel, which cause problems... The role of Locke in Lunenoire is one of the most critical.

83) Lotus (Female Human, Lancer, Avenger)
Life on Lancer is often pure despair, as countless tentatives to kill or expel Déesse all ended in gruesome failures. The Lotus Blanc still continue the fight however. The woman now known as Lotus (of course to fit with the organization’s name) represents the meager hope of victory : like all her predecessors (who died…), she have beeen trained to resist to things that would kill someone in seconds (especially the Ennemy dreaded Ravagers)

84) Luna (Female Human, Muria, Scout)
Luna, even for Murians standards, is quite attractive (a fact that make the retrograds Rovannians systematically underestimate her), and is sent by Ithilia with Renard, Flora and Corail to the help of Murians prisonners (Saphirre and Singleton being kept in Hiigara officially as hostages, in fact as honored guests). Luna is not only a (very) nice girl : she is very quick of mind, her green eyes sparkling with intelligence. And a deadly archer.

85) Lune d’Automne (Female Human, Figaro, Monk(Eastern Style))
Lune d’Automne is one of the newest recruits from the Order of the Mount Kotz. Lune d’Automne have some useful habilities, like being able to kill someone with her bare hands, a trick of dubious utility on evenings and receptions, but that can be useful in covert operations...Like Sabin, she cannot use weapons of any kind, but she have less revulsion than him for the use of modern technology in general, making of her an useful spy...

86) Lys(Female Human, Figarese, Clerk)
In a very logical move, the Figarese Civilian Defense for South-Figaro, in need of air shelters used the old catacombs. Most of them are perfectly known and mapped, but there are some sealed areas…Lys, during an air alert, lost herself in such a zone because of a temporary failure of light. She did not panicked first, but after three days into the darkness, she was really growing desperate. She was then find by someone calling herself Selene,

87) Lyvia (Female Human, Vector (Past), Dark Enchantress)
Lyvia is one of Jaina’s lieutenants, and a skilled commander. She is as courageous as the others, but she fears the non-existence, the void (and not Death itself). That led her on a very dangerous path, the one of the Dark Arts, the magic related to life and death…Lyvia is not a fool, far from it, but her lectures are affecting her, and Jaina is more and more worried about her, fearing she might attempt something that could only lead to her Damnation in Shéol…

8 Madeleine (Female Human, Kholingen, Monk (Western Style))
This remarkable woman is officially one administrator of the Monastery of the Holy Name (think about western type ‘’nuns’’) Madeleine hide in this location, the most holy place of Kholingen, a cell of the A.L.K. It’s a surprising move from the Kholingenian Church, which is quite conservative, but not all members of the Church are mindless devouts, fanatics, or opportunistic bishops....Madeleine also help with the healing of the many wounded...

89) Maja Felix (Female Human, Moblitz, Not applicable (she is 8 years old ! ))
Maja, the only survivor of the Children of Moblitz, is basically what is still keeping Terra a sane person after all that suffering. Terra is now always near Maja, who is subject to horrible nightmares due to her very close encountering with death. The bond between the two is now incredibly strong, and any threat against Maja is likely to end to bring extreme response from Terra, a thing the Ennemy try to exploit against Terra, one of it’s most determined opponent.

90) Malintza (Female Human (Aasimar), Figaro, Adventurer)
Malintza’s mother is widely supposed to have been a very good friend of the then Prince Edgar (meaning, everyone believe that her father is Edgar !) Malintza was in fact rescued by the Prince when she was a baby from a quite dubious village, and her origins are unknown...Edgar never demented the rumors making of Malintza his daughter, the first reason for it being that a natural child from the King is far less ostracized than a normal one.

91) Marianne (Female Human, Kholhingen, Commander)
Marianne is a commander in the Archipel Sixth Infantry Division. She commands in that unit the companies of volonteers from the A.L.K that enlisted in the Archipel armed forces for help Zander (the Archipel capitol) in the conflict against the Warlords. As she is Hasai, she is a perfect target for Orsani propaganda, whose main line is that only Locke Cole, some outlaws and the Hasais are against him (in fact, around 95% of the population hate him…)

92) Masséna (Female Human, Figaro, Monk (Western Style)
The order of the White Friars was originally formed for the battle against Heresy. However, their methods are not the one of the Inquisition, the White Friars prefering persuasion to violence. The modern White Friars, like Masséna, are mostly doing education in current days, and are quite appreciated in this role. The White Friars, like the Frères Gris, are not fanatics, and the reactions they have to the separation of Church and State were remarcably positive...

93) Mia Orsani (Female Wraith, Shéol, Not Aplicable)
Mia Orsani committed suicide some weeks after the departure of her sister, for the same reason why Rachel was hating her father. Mia was thinking that Rachel was a ‘’shame’’ for the family, until she realized that her sister have been right...As for Rachel, neither her father or her brother Dorsk (nota : the Count Orsani and Dorsk Orsani are almost the incarnation of evil) shed a tear for her, as ‘’scandale was avoided’’. She is not resting easily.

94) Milenia (Female Human, Muria, Heavy Archer)
This young new recruit of the Murians Archeresses was captured in a clash against a Rovannian Crusade. Fortunately, due to the fact there was only three prisonners, she was treated well (for not diminish her future value as a slave). Noticing that rescuers were on the track of the group carrying her, she asked nicely for being allowed to take a bath in a river.Of course, the Rovannians, at this time, were not exactly looking for attackers, and were killed...

95) Miller (Male Human, Figaro, Soldier)
Miller was send to Figaro-North in the same conditions as Laetitia. They are from the same little town (Oran), so Miller was really devastated by her injuries...And greatly relieved when she quicky came back to ‘’normal’’ Miller is a rational person, but he is more and more worried about what happened to Laetita after the injection (and, by the way, the stuff found on the Ennemy was certainly not digitalin...this was a sort of weapon designed long ago...)

96) Mitsune (Female Human, Sanctuaire, Oblat)
‘’Oblat’’ is a word used on the medieval Earth Roman Catholic Church to designate children offered to God by their parents (of course, not to make sacrifices, but to make contemplative monks...and pray for their families...). The term have a much darker sense in Lunenoire. Jaenra is responsable for Mitsune, and is not very enthousiast at seeing her becoming a Servant of Déesse, even if she is much kinder with Mitsune that others were with her...

97) Miyuki (Female Human, Kholingen, Revolutionnary)
Miyuki devoted her life to a cause, like other gave themselves to religion : the Revolution, the final victory against the aristocracy of the Old Regime. She is the last alive cell leader of the A.L.K (Armée Libre de Kholingen), one of the most organized and efficienf movement against the Warlords...On a personnal level, she is quite close of Locke Cole : she is his milk-sister (it’s more original than blood pact sister...), and was raised with him...

9 Mog (Male Mog, Narshe, er...Mog ?)
Relm, for humiliating her father, took Mog as ‘’bodyguard’’ during the Thamassian Uprising. As Relm mention it, ‘’he is not as efficient as the...y’know, that big hairy thing in that SF film I saw, who was roaring instead of Kuppoinng...’’, but he have his utilities (of course, putting him against a mech is really not a good idea !), and his totally innocuous side leads ennemies to underestimate him (that said, Chewbacca really packs more offensive punch...)

99) Molay (Male Human, Doma, Knight)
When the Warlords captured the King, they did not harm him in any way-anyone who hold the king of Doma hold the kingdom of Doma....officially, at least. The Regent instantly lost a lot of support, and was unable to sustain warfare on Doma. He passed Oversea to Figaro, with some of his partisans. Edgar is really embarassed with what to do with some units, especially the heavy cavalry commanded by Molay knights against artillery are not a good idea...

100) Montrevel (Human Male, Lothian, Spy)
Lothian is a small island kingdom, very rich from trade. It’s make of it a tempting target for ennemy forces, especially considering that a good part of their navy and army is assisiting their Cyprians allies in the war against Issaria. Montrevel, in service of the Queen, is not seeking for the defense of Lothian and Cypria secret artifacts or similar stuff, but rather to organize a coalition to prevent the terrible war that is looming on Templar.

101) Muriel (Female Human, Archipel, Not Applicable)
Order and Honor managed to keep a few cells in the Archipel after the Liberation, and still use them to pursue their strange aims. The very ordinary Muriel had the misfortune of being captured by a said cell, that neeed someone for a ritual. The said ritual totally backfired, as the ‘’Ordrians’’ were not aware than the average Succubi (Avarielle, in this case) have a very limited hostility against female humans. But the event have major consquences on Muriel...

102) Morgane (Female Human, Maranda, Aide)
The Marandese Morgane unfortunately attracted the eye of the Warlord general Tesse during the occupation, but managed to stall him until the Liberation. After that, Morgane attached her fate to the one of ‘’Milady’’, the title that many grateful Marandeses gave to Terra. She serves her as an aide de camp, assisting her the best she could in leading theur meager troops. Both Morgane and Terra have promise…but much to learn in the art of conduction operations.

103) Myst (Female Human, Tzen, Sorceress)
Myst is of course closely related to Rayne (c’mon, Rain, Mist…), but have far less moral questions about using Magic or being used by the Ennemy. Her tender age (12) make that most characters with a spark of humanity will simply refuse to attack her (gameplay example, Locke will not execute attacks on her-he will try to stun her at worst). The problem is, if she defects to your side, the Ennemy will not have the same ‘’weakness’’ than you...

104) Nalia (Female Human, Unknown (a realm of Templar), Ex-Slave)
Nalia was captured very young by pirates, for be sold later in the infamous slave markets of Issaria (with Analand and Khars, it’s the only realm still praticing the atrocity that is slavery). Romanova, Relm and Ambre where on place, and they were horrified by the look of the ‘’buyer’’ (to put it clearly, she was destinated for a brothel). They outbidded him, seriously straining the limited pool of monetary ressources they have a their disposition...

105) Night (Female Human, Archipel, Spy)
After coming back from the invaded Thamassa (where she befriended Relm) Night ported herself volonteer for a quite risky mission in Albrook, risky but not suicidar if correctly prepared. Unfortunately, Relm decided to come along with her...Her ‘’enthousiasm’’ (read inconscience) led to disaster, and Night and her team were captured...Night breaked after months of torture, and when she was exchanged, she was definitely suicidar.

106) Nova (Female Human, Narshe, Scout)
Nova make a confortable living in finding mineral deposits in the region of Narshe. But her main interest is in the legends about the ruins in the almost polar region...During one expedition, Nova reached a certain site, and get almost insane because of some ‘’living’’ things she saw. Altought she recalls very well the harsh path to the said zone (especially the way back...), she is vey reluctant at the idea of going there another time, or talking about it.

107) Ophélie (Female Human, Figaro, Archeologist)
Ophélie is a real archeologist-she is not tomb raiding with Teks weapons in hand (and lightly clothed ?) in the search of mythical artifacts (altought she think it’s would be more fun), but carefully unearthing stuff like fragments of pottery, not the kind of job that draws unwanted attention. Unfortunately, the zone in which she is working, Figaro-North (Old Castle), have attired that kind of attention from some maniacs operating in the ranks of the Ennemy...

108) Orta (Female Human, Andoral, Sorceress)
Orta childhood was hellish, the Church having took an interest for her for some reason. At fourteen, she cracked, and tried to commit suicide. Her desparation then awakened something in her, a thing that allowed her to escape. Orta is now a Sorceress of tremendous power, killing without mercy all groups dispatched against her. She seeks power in the form of artifacts, not worrying about the conscquences. Orta is not beyond redemption, however...

109) Pélisse (Female Human, Muria, Heavy Archer)
Pélisse, the second Murian prisonner, was sold as a servant to the Senechal of Taris, for a obscene price (and for no less obsene reasons) : having for slave a Murian girl is the kind of thing that bring consideration for a Rovannian. He even organized a reception for ‘’showcase’’ his ‘’acquisition’’, who was remarkably uncooperative, even drugged. The Senechal get an arrow in the chest some hours later, an arrow from Luna’s bow....

110) Perceval (Male Human, Lorraine, Hérault)
Perceval is a Hérault, someone who have to record, in a impartial way, the battles occuring on Templar. He is somewhat protected by his status, as no ruler in Templar is foolish enough to murder, even covertly, an Hérault, who is protected by numerous formal conventions (not mentionning that killing an Héraults would gave a very bad press to the murderer) He is currently in region of Scion, for observing the latest siege being put in place...

111) Persée (Male Human, Figaro, Officer)
Lieutenant Persée is from the last promotion of the Figarese program for forming commanding officers at an accelerated rate. He is not, by far, a bad commander, but he have a habit that only time will amend : he always going ‘’by the book’’. Persée second command send him to North Figaro, with General Sabin and Laetitia…His third assignement was to find a safe place for Laetitia in South-Figaro, when she began to...’’look really strange’’....

112) Perséphone (Female Entity, Unknown, War Mage)
Perséphone is less impressive than Athéna, but she still packs quite a punch (At base, you will ‘’get’’ her instead of Athéna if you acted correctly, but not enough well). Perséphone magic and attacks are, like Athéna, of tremendous power. Perséphone can only be used in very specific circonstances, but when she appears, defeat for the other side is certain (both her and Athéna are the ultimate ‘’rewards’’ in Lunenoire, deadlier than any ‘’holy sword’’)

113) Phraetiss (Female Human, Araki, Governor)
Phraetiss courage and skill during the second war of the Holy Land, where the counter offensive from her side almost pushed back in the Central Sea the Infidels, let her start a great career. Twenty years later, she is the presitgious governor of the citadel of Scion, the main goal of all the Holy Land wars. Like much leaders from the two sides of those wars, Phraetiss have no hate for the ennemy, and always treat ambassadors and prisonners with chivalry.

114) Phryné (Female Human, Kiavin, Thief)
Phryné came from the far away Kiavin, a realm in the north, quite friendly to Lothian, Cypria and Lorraine. Unfortunately, Analand and Issaria attacked several years ago Kiavin, and Phryné was captured, then sent as slave in Analand. She was then marked (with red-heated iron) on the cheek with a Analadian cross, to mark her ‘’status’’. Phryné managed to flee in Cypria, with several (embarassing) documents : the start of her present carreer…

115) Priss (Female Human, Maranda, Singer)
The War is hard for the nerves of everyone, and a minimal form of entertainement is required for prevent a total collapse of the moral…Unfortunately, finding an acceptable form of entertainement is hard (especially considering that Domasians find all music except religious chants a crime against morale). All the others troops however seems to enjoy the uplifting music from Priss, a Marandan officer that resigned, digusted by the constant intrigue...

116) Psychée (Female Human, Figaro, Soldier)
When Figaro-North small garrison was betrayed and slaughtered, some pockets of resistance lasted several days. Rather to be consumed alive by flame-throwers, one of the last group of survivors (including her) tried his chance in the ruins of the Old Castle. (And, of course, this led to their total massacre, Figaro-North being an...dangerous...zone) When Sabin found her days later, Psychée moral have ‘’totally collapsed’’ (meaning, she was delirious...)

117) Quat (Female Human, Kholingen, Adventurer)
Quat was deported at 12 years old the converted monasteries of the Crow Hills (translate Crow Hills in german, it’s a very obvious allusion) for what the Warlords name ‘’conscripted labor’’. In fact, it’s working to the death for the war industry...Quat and another Kholingenian girl of the same age and general constitution were, for an unknown reason, tranfered back to Kholingen. Quat’s train was attacked by the A.L.K., and she was rescued by them....

118) Rachel Orsani (Female Succubi, Shéol, Adventurer/Huntress)
Rachel is born into one of the most powerful families of Kholingen...one of the most hated families too. Rachel share this hate, especially against her father, for a very good reason. The death was not sufficient to calm this hate. It’s a feeling so strong that Rachel wanted to be eternally damned (as a Succubi), for get a slight chance of vengeance. She is still quite attached to Locke Cole, the only one who really cared for her and try to protect him

119) Raven (Male Human, Figaro, Meharist Commander)
The Meharists are one realistic looking military-unit in Lunenoire : they are light oisellery units that are widely used by the Figarese High Command for recon, pursuit…The Meharists are lightly armed (they don’t stand a chance against bipods), but their gear is up-to-date, and they are certainly one of the few mounted units that are still efficient. Raven’s elite Meharists are almost invincible in the desert as long as the ennemy is not bringing heavy gear.

120) Rayne (Female Human, Tzen, Sorceress)
Rayne is a parent of a member of the sinister Magitek project (Number 122). For that reason, her ‘’genetical blueprint’’ was judged appropriate....Rayne was surviving in Tzen by praticing little blackmail (pictures of her and high level officials threatened to be sent to the rich mother-in-law...) when she was arrested, and under menaces ‘’convinced’’ to help the Ennemy . Hartz injected something to Rayne that threaten her sanity. But gave her MAGIC.

121) Relm Arrowny (Female Human, Thamassa, Adventurer)
Relm realisation that her father was Shadow was not exactly an happy one ; as she have the (justified) feeling that she have been toyed and fooled. She is no longer in speaking terms with Shadow. Relm want, for the current war, to have a more active role than in the Second War of the Magic. Her sheer enthousiasm is a force to be reckoned on, but in the realist world of Lunenoire, it’s a great danger, as it’s can lead to very reckless actions...dangerous ones...

122) Riina (Female Drone (Almost Human), Unknown, Any classes)
Riina have been created a technology several times more impressive than the one used for Iqua : Riina is actually living, even if she is totally synthetic. The Empire found her completed (but not activated) some years before FF6, near the remote base of Ixia. It’s Cid that was designed to study her (this point have his importance, since Riina and others artefacts collected around her gave Cid an certain idea). Riina is currently under Warlord control.

123) Romanova (Female Human, Tzen, Heavy Pilot)
The cheerful Romanova, the best heavy bomber/transport pilot of the Archipel, is renowned also for her uncanny (but appreciated) hability to hide games and anime files (sic) in every computer she gain access, including the targeting computers of her craft. There is a slight detail about those programs she is a top fan, however, especially the ones involving space combat : some of the data used to create them was not numerized for gaming purpose...

124) Rynn (Female Human, Yiarzel, Engineer)
Rynn planned to became an engineer, and actually followed courses long enough to be a quite competent sapper. Her problem is that, as Imperial society shattered after the cataclysm, her skills were not in demand. She is totally traumatized by the things she was forced to do to simply survive in Tzen, for ridiculous sums of money (the said things being not shown or clearly mentionned) . Not surpisingly, she have huge problems trusting anyone,

125) Sabin Figaro (Male Human, Figaro, Monk (Eastern Style))
First point to note, in Lunenoire, there is a certain realism : so even the most awe-inspiring ‘’blitz’’ will have dubious effects on Mechs or aircraft (that said, they are really effective against human ennemies at close range...) Not unlike Cyan, Sabin have huge reserves about utilising modern technology, but also with some aspects of the modernity, like female soldiers and officers (often more efficient than many ‘’old school’’ officiers, conservative nobles)

126) Sarah (Female Human, Cilicia, Logistic Specialist)
Sarah is the lone child of a family of Kholingenian refugees (she is Hasai), and the heir of a medium sized shipping company. Most of the A.L.K meager supplies transit on her ships, and she have organized networks to move the said supplies from Cilicia to Kholingenian zones. Sarah is able to do miracles on logistic related skills, but she is very average for combat. The problem is that she WANT to have a more active role, for which she is poorly skilled.

127) Saranti (Male Human, Figaro, Monk (Western Style)
Sarranti is a member of the Frères Gris, a charitable order (nota : they are really a charitable order. They are not plotting for demoniac summoning or stuff like that), whose members cannot use weapons (they cannot use their fists too...they are logic). They have not objections to heal war wounded, however. The Frères Gris are very popular (they make poverty vows), and there loyalty to Figaro is far more impressive than the one of the high clergy...

128) Saphirre (Female Human, Lionel, Kensai)
Saphirre is a wonderful sword-user, prone to some crises of melancholy-in a more modern world, that’s would be called depression. Corail and Renard have serious doubts about the reason of that depression, because of an accidental encounter in Lionel...All the (quite meager) money she manage to gain disapear quite fast, and it’s obvious that she severed all ties with her family (Saphirre is of course a war-name, not her real name)

129) Scyllia (Female Human, Vector, Ressearcher)
This woman is one of the pioneer in the ressearch of Mechanized Combat Units (bipods, walkers, that kind of thing...) She prefer rationnal weaponry, like machine guns and canons over esoteric weapons. She is also the designer of many remarkable personnal units (individual armor) for missions involving heavy risks (Scyllia have regular trouble about those units, as many female users find that they are really too tight and close of their skins...)

130) Seldarine (Female Human (Altered), Sanctuaire, one of the Four Tears of Déesse
Seldarine is at the base like the others Tears : a Human with the heart totally corrupted by the taste of power, who committed unspeakables acts for the glory of Déesse...She was close to Phaere, who was supposed killed two years before the Second War of the Magi. Déesse is keeping her in Lancer : Seldarine is relatively still young, and there is still a tiny spark of humanity in her. Especially considering that Phaere herself was not beyond redemption.

131) Shadow (Male Human, Unknown, Ninja)
The man once known as Clyde Arrowny is having some trouble finding his place in the current world. First of all, for his assassin’s job, he is subissing serious ‘’concurrence’’ from Lara Narkel (she actually make him look a choirboy, and her methods are quite efficient). More seriously, Relm is ignoring him completly, not forgiving him for having dropped her mother when she was pregnant, and only left her the name ‘’Arrowny’’....

132) Sudeka (Female Human, Tzen, Soldier)
Living in the Warlord-controled Tzen, Sudeka had basically the choice between slave labor, selling herself (in the grim sense), or the army. She chosen the latter, and have the luck of falling into the unit of a decent officer...affected to explore the Ruins of Karas. Almost all her company was wiped out in hellish encounters, and she own her life to her ‘’capture’’ by Locke, Célès and Tahiri. That event totally changed her perspective on the war...

133) Sylian (Male Human, Far East of Templar, Emmissary)
Sylian came from the Far East, as an emmissary of the Khan, indiscutably the leader of the most efficient army of Templar-his mounted archers mowed down huge armies in far away lands…The Khan, however, is not a mindless barbarian, and have no intentions of risking his soldiers in the conquest the realms of the Central Sea in a succession of bloody sieges…The Khan is pushed on the path of war, however, by the deliberate actions of Orta…

134) Tahiri Djalier (Female Human, Vector, Hacker/Pilot)
Tahiri Djalier have a quite complex relation with Célès Chere, but a thing is sure : she is certainly the closest friend that she ever had. Tahiri played a key role in the fall of Order and Honor, the fascist movement that have took control of the Archipel before the Liberation made by the Imperials, but was captured before and tortured, affecting her terribly. Tahiri is almost a goddess when it’s time to talk about computer systems, and she can do wonders....

135) Taki (Female Human, Scion, Emissary)
Taki’s father was captured in the first years of the Holy Land Wars, and was supposed tortured to death by the Infidels (the said Infidels of course calling the other side Infidels too, leading to slight confusion...) In fact, he was liberated quickly, but stayed because of an exquisite ennemy knight (female, of course). Taki is born from that union, and her diversified cultural heritage made of her a perfect candidate for the delicate art of diplomacy....

136) Tanaris (Female Human (Tiefline), Archipel, Naval Officer)
Tanaris is one of the most promising officers of the Archipel...and have a dark secret : her mother is a Succubus, a demon, making of her a Tiefline (a ‘’detail’’ not preventing Tanaris to really like her). Tanaris is not evil, and act, behave and thinks as a Human. She is terrorized at the idea that someone may recon her heritage (in the Past, Tieflines were burned or crucifixed), as there are signs of it : numerous red marks on the arms, and her ears.

137) Tashia (Female Human, Vector, Naval Gunner)
Tashia is a quite rich Imperial from the Mainland. The origine of her fortune is a sensible subject in the Archipel. You see, Tashia is the last descendant of a top Imperial adviser, very loyal to Gesthal. After the death of the adviser on the battlefield, Gesthal took in hands very seriously the future of the children of the adviser (not for using them or stuff like that). It’s have lead to questions about the exacts relations between Gesthal and his female adviser...

138) Tatso (Female Human, Cypria, ‘’Merchant with Creative Methods’’
The said creative method consist of ‘’buying’’ the cargo of merchant ships at sea in exchange of a ‘’assurance against sinking and assault’’. Some traditional merchants call it piratery, but in fact Tatso is a corsair for Cypria. Her fleet is small, but have very good intelligence in the ports of the ennemies of Cypria, allowing to strike the good targets. The fun part is that her ships often do actual commercial missions, as they are the safest ones of Templar....

139) Terra (Female Hybrid, Unknown, Kensai/Sorceress)
Terra never lead an happy life, but the last years are worst than all...First, all her memories about her horrible time in Vector came back to her slowly. The childhood was not too bad-Terra was even almost adopted by an Imperial, Lia Narkel, before Kefka took charge of her case, and the nightmare began...Another blow againt her is the fact that all except one of the Children of Moblitz were killed in a horrible way, putting her quite close to the edge...

140) Tsia (Female Human, Kholingen, Cosaque Leader)
The Cosaques (Cossacks) are in Lunenoire as there were in Tzarist Russia : irregular light ‘’cavalry’’ (oiselery in Lunenoire). They are mainly operating into the sparsely populated north of Kholinhen. Tsia leads a small group of such Cosaques, , that deserted from Orsani’s service to help the A.L.K. Again regular units, Cosaques are very very average (the Ennemy utilise is own Cosaques for repression only), but they are excellent scouts.

141) Valois (Male Human, Figaro, Commander)
Valois was with Edgar when he rescued Malintza, and being one of the few persons that the Prince actually trusted, it’s to him (and his family) that was given the task of raising her. Valois did it (quite well, AND IN A NORMAL WAY), with of course full financial support from the Crown. Valois is also one of smarter member of the ‘’new guard’’ (modern thinking officers), and all this make that he is one officer with a very bright future.

142) Voronov (Male Human, Figaro, Logistic Specialist)
Voronov was put by the Figarese High Command in charge of the war production in the second industrial center of the Kingdom, South-Figaro, currently bessieged by Quetzal. Those industries are situated mainly on the island of Millian, vulnerable to sea and land artillery attacks...To augment Voronov’s woes, he face numerous problems of sabotage, and his direct superior is not really caring for shortages of war material : it’s Cyan, as conservative as ever.

143) Yamasaki (Female Human, Cilicia, Clerk)
The intelligent but naive Yamasaki is a governement employee of the Cilicia, who is trying to rise a discreetly as she can (altought buying spray cans for painting anti-Warlords slogans with credit cards at her name is not a clever move...) the public opinion against the neutrality of her homeland...She is so polite, however, that she is have very good Social Skills in non-aggressive categories (for stuff like bargaining, gaining the confiance of someone...)

144) Yseult (Female Human, Archipel, Corsair)
The Archipel, suprisingly, is a nation with very strong naval tradition. Their war navy is unparelled both in material and training, but they have also another card : the ‘’Naval Ressources For Agressive Intervention on Hostile Strategic Shipping’’...or corsairs. Yseult is the best of those corsairs. She is so efficient with her frigate that she is quite high in the list of potential commanders for heavier naval units (including heavy cruisers and super-carriers...)

145) Zlata (Female Illusion, Moblitz, Illusion)
Zlata died horribly in front of Terra, a thing that putted Terra close to madness (especially considering the circonstances of her death...) As Terra was considering her (like the others Children of Moblitz) as her real child, she is constantly making horrible dreams about her. This would be traumatizing for any normal woman, but it’s worse for Terra, as her desire to see her again, combined with her latent magic power, have...some conscequences.

146) Zoyia (Female Human, Muria, Heavy Archer)
Zoyia is one of the three Murians Archeress captured by the Rovannians. She ended into the hands of the Inquistion, which planned for her a nice burning at the stake. However, the Inquisistor of Taris (the Rovannian Capitol) keeping her have a very depleasing visit the night before the execution, made by Renard’s group and Luna. He tried to buy his life with an information : the fact that Alice and Lavian were still alive, detained by the Inquistion....

You already posted this in the FFVI section. And I still don't believe it.

You're not going to finish - which may not be a bad thing, because this doesn't seem like it would be a very good game.

If you do actually do this, you may wanna cut down on the characters. But, like most FF projects, including the very promising FFVI prequel that I cant remember the name of, I doubt this will get done. I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh, and saying that it's currently "on paper" right now isn't much substantial proof.

Indeed. If every FF idea I've written or role played out were going to be made into a game... well... yeah there'd be a lot more FF fan games.

In fact... aside from the spoof version of VI from Something Awful, has there ever been a fan game that has gotten anywhere?

Well, it's certainly a very ambitious project, with low chances of success, and it will require a lot of help (Question : Why, in your opinion, I made this topic ?)

We may only have the story, but it's really a strong point in Lunenoire. Here is a small example of the scenario of Lunenoire, a tiny part of the huge story...(and showing it's not Kiddy) Give your opinion on it, and the characters !

Terra, in Lunenoire, play a really critical role...But her life is not a really happy one. Some memories of her time in Vector have came back to her, and it’s pushing her near insanity, as Kefka suceeded in ‘’breaking’’ (meaning, destroying her resistance...And it’s SAID, it’s not SHOWED) her, for use her latent skills at is own ends. But there is more than those horrible things : there is also the fact that Terra was in those years the ‘’test subject’’ of a man named Hartz, Kefka’s main scientific. ...The said experiences were almost nothing more than torture (they played a part in the ‘’breaking’’, but also in a overall tentative to understand in a rationnal way some things that not looked too natural...) and as Hartz is the man who designed the Slave Crown, Terra was almost hating him as much than Kefka. This feeling increased expontentially when, in the course of the new war (this would be long to explain, but this war, occuring two years after the end of FF6, a conventionnal war, and it’s much more complicated than stuff like ‘’good guys against bad guys’’. For example, the powerful Imperial nation of the Archipel is sincerly on the side of Figaro, and the whole Empire predating FF6 is quite different from the average ‘’evil Empire’’. The Empire in Lunenoire is really not fully evil...It was a very progressive regime, with laws against all forms of racism, fanaticism and discrimination against female citizens, laws that the new nation of the Archipel make a point d’honneur of enforcing), a raid was launched to Moblitz when Terra was absent...Hartz was behind that, wanting to lure Terra. (New point showing that Lunenoire is not FFX-2, the responsable for this is no one less than Duran....) The first chapter of Lunenoire describe Terra’s actions as she desperately try to find back the children from Moblitz...who all died, except two : Zlata and Maja. Finding Zlata will really bring Terra to the breaking point, as her ‘’daughter’’ had been exposed to ‘’experiences’’ by Hartz that had totally crippled her. To the point that Terra had to...kill her (Saying that this was painful is an understatement. Unaware of Maja’s survival, Terra basically planned after that to find Hartz....and shot herself afterward. ). Fortunately for her, Maja was still alive, and the link between them is very strong in Lunenoire (Terra’s consider her as her real daughter, and Maja’s have similar feelings...Terra feel very uneasy when she leave her, even for few hours...And, immediate precision, there is nothing ‘’weird’’ in this relation)

Why Hartz hates Terra so much ? For a reason that form an another subplot, related to Terra’s mother, Madonne...To put it simply, Madonne was an Imperial scientific like Hartz (doing harmless things like botany...)...and, absolute horror to Terra, she was engaged with Hartz, who was at this time maybe a bit strange, but still a decent man. He took quite badly Madonne’s disparition. And, he knowns perfectly who is Terra. It’s why he hate her and not consider her as Human...Because Hartz is quite sure that Madonne’s...consentment...was not considered (What anger him is not the identity of Terra’s father, but what the said father have done to Madonne according to him. The fact that Madonne is dead is not helping too. BTW, this exact point is not really digged out in Lunenoire, but anyone who have played FF6 should admit that the whole scene between Madonne and Maduin occured...quite fast...)
