Hey guys i need some help and math isnt my best subject.

ok hers my problem: If the averages of the atlantic ocean are as follows: 3 miles deep, 3000 miles wide, and 5000 miles long from north to south, how many gallons of water does it hold?

thx for your help.

Find out the total square footage of the Atlantic Ocean (find the total square miles and then convert it into square feet), then find out how many gallons of water are in a square foot, then divide the square footage of a gallon into the square footage of the Atlantic Ocean.

yeah i tried but all those conversions are too much work for me.

I was hoping one of you guys on here might be a genius and just spit out the answer.

But you have failed me Mullet!

Well I imagine the fact that it's a lot of work is why you have it for homework. :p

You mean cubic. But if Enoki already got the answer, good job.

Yeah, I realized cubic after I started looking for conversions between cubic feet and gallons. Square feet wasn't there for some reason. Doh!

Using my rough math (and a bunch of websites for conversions), I come up with 49550142597120000000 gallons, or, if you want scientific notation, 4.96 x 10^19
