Not that anyone really cares, this is more for DocFrance. But today in the mail I just got my acceptance letter from the Air Force Academy and I leave July 1st! Sorry, I just HAD to get that out in the open right now, since I can't tell my friends until tomorrow at school.

Not a letter that I would ever want to get for myself, but congratulations. :)

Congratulations, dude! I hope you decide to accept this opportunity.

You better watch out, because this summer I'm going to be your 1st Basic Cadet Training ("Beast") cadre! Don't worry, I won't be too hard on the little guy.

It's hard to believe I got my acceptance letter well over two years ago... the time sure has flown.

Sorry, I was quoting Captain America. But now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

I'd suggest you start memorizing stuff now. USAFA is beig on memorization. Here's a little starter:

Sir/Ma'am, Major General John M. Schofield's graduation adress to the graduating class of 1879 at Westpoint is as follows:
The discipline which makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be gained by harsh or tyrannical treatment. On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to impart instructions and give commands in such a manner and such a tone of voice as to inspire in the soldier no feelings but an intense desire to obey, while the opposite manner and tone of voice cannot fail to excite strong resentment and a desire to disobey. The one mode or the other of dealing with subordinates springs from the breast of the commander. He who feels the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them regard to himself, while one who feels, and hence manifests disrespect towards others, especially his inferiors, cannot fail fail to inspire hatred towards himself.

Yes, folks, that was ALL from memory! Now, Squall, imagine struggling through that quote and doing fifty pushups while three of your cadre are yelling in your ears to SOUND OFF!!!

I'm not serious about getting a head start on memorizing this stuff. It's best to learn the same way your classmates will, as you'll soon discover.
