I was thinkin' about settin' up a Yahoo deal for bracket filling and predictions and stuff, so that we can settle which of us knows the most about March Madness. Or something.

Who wants in? It can take any number of people. Just post in here if you're interested.

I'm so going to own you bastards in this bracket challenge. More people need to sign up before tip off.

We'll just see about that. ;)

I'm pretty confident in my picks this year.

Boogers. Stupid Charlotte, there goes my perfect bracket.

Strider
03-18-2004, 08:41 PM
At least Maryland survived UTEP, bro.

Dang...I suck.

Dingo Jellybean
03-18-2004, 11:15 PM
WTF...I could've swore I had Syracuse in...how the heck did BYU get in? Ugh...atleast I had BYU on the CBS Samuel Adams bracket...which is more important.

Kirobaito
03-18-2004, 11:32 PM
Yeah, I was surprised by some of my picks too. I never remember picking them! I could have sworn that I had Manhattan beating Florida, as that's what's written on the bracket that I made two days ago right in front of me!

PeTeRL90
03-18-2004, 11:54 PM
You know, I don't mind if my team loses in a blowout, but just about 3 of my losses today, all were by 3 points or less.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 12:02 AM
My Southern Illinois Salukis lost by 1. I had Florida winning for some reason, I don't know what the hell I was thinking, I don't remember even picking that.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 12:08 AM
I had Southern Illinois to win also.

I also had VCU and BYU to win, and they were so close.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 12:11 AM
That's another weird thing. On my current bracket, the one that I wrote in, I had BYU winning, mainly because of Rafael Araujo, but for this pool I put Syracuse winning, which I don't know why I would put that. But oh well, now I look smarter.

Virginia Commonwealth I though would put up a good fight, because it's not everyday that a Colonial Athletic Association team gets to play an ACC team on a neutral floor. Which, hey, they did put up a fight, but I still thought Wake was gonna come out on top.

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 02:03 AM
Florida is the annual choke job. You should never put them in the 2nd round...even if they are a #1 seed.

This is the 4th straight year Florida has been bounced out the first round, and the 2nd year where Florida was ranked #1. It's such a pathetic excuse of a program with all the talent they horde.

muchacho
03-19-2004, 02:41 AM
FLORIDA A&M ALL THE WAY! WOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEE............

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 02:46 AM
Ugh, just great. I had Michigan State meeting the Zags...looks like my bracket is done, but thankfully I know many of you picked MSU also!

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 04:24 AM
Just about everyone picked MSU. That was a big surprise. And Air Force is hanging with UNC. That's a little scary too. Oh well, my brackets are already messed up.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! Is anyone watching this Depaul-Dayton game? I think even I can hit a free throw with a higher percentage than they can.
DOUBLE EDIT: Hah! DePaul just chunked a long pass from out of bounds with .4 seconds left and the game tied, and it hit the scoreboard. Dayton gets the ball underneath their own basket.
TRIPLE EDIT: Nah. Dayton couldn't get it in. Double OT coming up next.

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 05:36 AM
Arizona lost too...damn it all...my bracket is going down the toilet.

eestlinc
03-19-2004, 05:52 AM
it only really matter when teams lose in the first round that you have picked to win multiple games. stupid mich state. otherwise i did good. I was wrong abotu arizona and s ill.

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 06:09 PM
Yeah...thank goodness I only picked MSU to win one game, as well as Arizona. If everything goes according to my picks, the ACC should go 6-0, Boston college should be upset, nad Louisville should upset as well.

But you're only up by 2 points!

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 06:19 PM
Yeah, the teams I lost on only get out of the first round, they all lose in the 2nd. I just gotta hope for Utah.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:00 PM
I picked Michigan State. I also picked Dayton, but of course, the Sports God hates me and makes my team lose yet another close game.

I also picked Seton Hall over Arizona, so I'm happy with that choice.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:06 PM
I think the same God hates me too. I picked Arizon, because, I mean, come on, Seton Hall? They haven't had anyone good play for them since...uh....?

And Arizona has Salim Stoudamire, Hassan Adams, Channing Frye, and Mustafa Shakur. How did SH possibly win? Same thing with Nevada.

Utah's tied with Boston College with 3:30 to go. Come on, runnin' Utes!

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 07:07 PM
I had DePaul, but I wanted Dayton. To be honest, I always got those 2 teams confused. Maybe it's because they share the same number of letters and the same first letter and the same number of syllables.

I know Michigan State screwed everyone over by laying an egg. But I don't know how they could've squeezed past Gonzaga, if they did make the 2nd round. Hopefully Gonzaga won't choke early like they did 2 years ago after finding out they were a 6th seed.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:09 PM
Wow...I'm actually not in last amongst our pool. I'm 3rd to last! eest's in first, but there's no way Stanford's winning it all, so we know he won't do well in the semis and finals.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:10 PM
All of my losses but one were really close games.

Peeved me off.

Eep, I'm in last.

Oh well. Hopefully my picks will rejuvinate me today.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:15 PM
The picks today are going to be a lot easier to call. The game I'm looking forward to is Xavier-Louisville. Louisville has superior talent, but is playing horribly lately. Xavier is playing great. The St. Joe's blowout should give them confidence.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:16 PM
I'm looking foward to the Washington/UAB game.

I also want the W. Michigan/Vanderbilt game, since I have W. Michigan winning that one.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:18 PM
Oh well. There goes another pick. Utah's gonna lose, most likely.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:21 PM
Wooo.. thank god BC pulled that one out.

If they lost, that would have screwed up yet another region of mine.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:24 PM
Geez...even the picks I was sure about have gone down the crapper, nearly. NC State is only up 9 on Louisiana-Lafayette. They'll win, but even a 9-point win doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in their ability.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:26 PM
Illinois won, and Memphis is about to win.

Two more points for me.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:28 PM
Yep. And Oklahoma State is playing Eastern Washington next. There's another point for me, because my Cowboys better win. They will. They HAVE to. I have them going to the Final Four.

I know I won't win EoFF's pool, but atleast I beat my dad. He has Northern Iowa going to the Final Four.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:32 PM
Oklahoma State better win. I have them winning it all this year.

Your dad thinks Northern Iowa is going to make the Final Four?

If there's going to be any seed below 5 that's going to make the Final Four, it's UNC.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:36 PM
I think he was being stupid, giving NI a F4 bid. Clark Kellogg's voice frustrates me. Does it frustrate anyone else?

I have UNC losing to Mississippi State in the Sweet 16. But I'm starting to regret that pick...I'm not sure if they can beat UT. Which part of NC are you from, Pete? Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, or Durham?

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 07:37 PM
I think Clark Kellog does a great job with insight on games.

But as for my bracket, I got 3/4 of the early picks. Stupid Utah. If they had MAjerus, he could've at least sat on the other team and crush their hopes.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:40 PM
I have no problem with Kellogg's insight. It's his voice that bothers me. The way he says his "s"s...

So far today, my only screw-up was Utah.

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:43 PM
Which part of NC are you from, Pete? Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, or Durham?

Jacksonville. It's about 5 hours away from Raleigh.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:44 PM
What I meant was...Duke, UNC, WF, or NC State? Which are you a fan of?

PeTeRL90
03-19-2004, 07:46 PM
I'm more of an NC State person than Duke and UNC. I just don't like Wake Forest for some reason.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:48 PM
I'll be attending Duke in 2 years once I get out of high school. So, obviously, I have them winning it all. They could win it all next year, if Luol Deng doesn't leave.

Dingo Jellybean
03-19-2004, 07:54 PM
Since I attend Maryland, I'm an obvious Maryland fan. I have Maryland winning it all in my bracket for play, but my bracket for money I have Kentucky.

So as long as Kentucky or Maryland wins...it's all good. The only thing I hate about the ACC is that it's so biased with the tournament. The next 4 out of 7 sites of the ACC tournament will be in North Carolina, most of them in Greensboro. It's expensive for the other schools like Maryland (and eventually Boston College) to travel all the way down to play. Luckily next year the tournament will be in Washington D.C.

But the last 10 ACC tournaments, 7 of them were played in NC. You have teams in Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and eventually New England now...that's why Duke and NC and NC State keeps winning it...but at least Maryland got one this year.

Kirobaito
03-19-2004, 07:58 PM
Well, there are 4 ACC schools in NC. That's more than anywhere else. However, I guess there should be a bit of variety on the site. There should be a neutral location, but unfortunately there isn't really a "neutral" site. The Big XII has had their tournament in Dallas for the past few years, and that is fairly neutral. Our area (The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex) has UT, A&M, Tx Tech, OK State, and OK fans in it. They could have the ACC tournament in Virginia, possibly. That's about as "Neutral" as you can get.

EDIT: This East Tennessee State-Cincinnati Game is really good. I have Cincy, winning, but I'm starting to root for ETSU, just to piss eest off.

Dingo Jellybean
03-20-2004, 05:27 AM
Okay, I'm screwed. I'm 22-10 overall.

I didn't expect to get 8 losses out of the whole tournament...now I have 10 out of the first round.

Stupid Washingon, Louisville, Utah, Western Michigan, and Providence.

PeTeRL90
03-20-2004, 03:04 PM
I got the whole first round of the Atlanta Bracket right... I only got 2 wrong yesterday, I think.

Dingo Jellybean
03-21-2004, 01:27 AM
I am done. Maryland busted my bracket and Stanford losing didn't help either.

Now if Kentucky wins or any underdog wins, I'll be happy because I hate every other team.

PeTeRL90
03-21-2004, 01:58 AM
As long as my Final Four teams make it to the Final Four, then I'm happy.

Although I'm not happy with Maryland losing.

Enoki
03-21-2004, 02:52 AM
As a fan I want to see UNC take it. But if I was a bettin' man my money would be on UCONN.

Kirobaito
03-21-2004, 04:11 AM
I'm screwed too, for the most part. Atleast my Final Four is saved. With Stanford out of the way (thx Tide!), UConn should roll right through. Hopefully, Wake Forest can get rid of St. Joe's for me, and Kentucky shouldn't have a problem.

eestlinc
03-21-2004, 05:43 AM
stupid ass stanford. at least UC is still in the tourney. They better beat Illinois.

PeTeRL90
03-21-2004, 04:33 PM
Yay. My bracket's just about over with UNC's loss last night. Now I wonder who's going to be playing Oklahoma State in the finals.

Oh well. Let us rejoice, since I am in last again.

eestlinc
03-21-2004, 06:44 PM
um, Memphis is going to beat Oklahoma State today. :D

Kirobaito
03-21-2004, 06:47 PM
Memphis beating Oklahoma State? Nah. No way. Tony Allen will have 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals. Just watch. Ivan McFarlin: 13 points, 12 rebounds.

Dingo Jellybean
03-21-2004, 07:28 PM
Okay...my bracket is completely screwed this year. Miss St going out this early puts my bracket on life support. I had Miss St in the Final 4. Let's hope Wakeforest and Kentucky live up to my expectations.

Kirobaito
03-21-2004, 07:33 PM
My Final Four is still in (Duke, Oklahoma State, Kentucky, UConn).

Dingo Jellybean
03-21-2004, 10:35 PM
Ha, eest's hopes are done. Cinci got crushed.

Let's hope that Duke, OKST, and UConn loses.

PeTeRL90
03-22-2004, 12:40 AM
Yay. My bracket is officially screwed with Kentucky's loss. :)

eestlinc
03-22-2004, 05:07 AM
yea so I sucked it up big time this year. I guess I'll root for Xavier and Georgia Tech.

Kirobaito
03-22-2004, 08:50 PM
Atleast my team is still in it. Come on, Blue Devils!

PeTeRL90
03-22-2004, 09:18 PM
Same. When Oklahoma State beats Pittsburgh, it'll be an easy ride to the Final Four.

Kirobaito
03-26-2004, 01:12 AM
Ah, our March lives return to normal. Pitt and OK St has been a nasty game so far.

PeTeRL90
03-26-2004, 03:58 AM
And Oklahoma State has kept my bracket under a slim ray of light.

Kirobaito
03-26-2004, 04:00 AM
Your bracket doesn't have hope anymore. Only mine does. At this pace, I'll get 3 teams into the Final Four! Nobody can compete with that. **rubs crotch** You can't handle this.

PeTeRL90
03-26-2004, 04:01 AM
Hey, as long as the team I picked wins it all, then I don't care how the rest of it turned out.

Kirobaito
03-26-2004, 04:02 AM
Wow. Bama's up 11 on Syracuse. Wouldn't that be weird? But they can't beat UConn, thus, it doesn't matter.

PeTeRL90
03-26-2004, 05:32 AM
I never thought St. Joes would get this far.

eestlinc
03-26-2004, 05:38 AM
hey, i actually got them right in the elite 8. Of course my entire Final Four is out now...

PeTeRL90
03-26-2004, 07:16 PM
UConn and Oklahoma State are the only two teams that are still in the tourney that I have in the Final Four.

Dingo Jellybean
03-26-2004, 10:17 PM
Well, my picks are completely down the drain.

All four of my Final Four picks are gone. I cannot gain any points after the Elite 8, or even during the Elite 8.

Hopefully Duke will lose to spoil all other brackets.

Kirobaito
03-26-2004, 10:20 PM
Whateva. My Trublu Devils are winning it all.

Agent Proto
03-26-2004, 10:29 PM
The only team that I had in the Final Four that's out is Cincinnati. xD I had them winning it all too. I hope that the rest of my picks actually advance.

Dingo Jellybean
03-27-2004, 06:34 AM
I can no longer earn anymore points. So most likely I'll end up in last place. :'(

eestlinc
03-27-2004, 06:44 AM
yea me either. at least Ga Tech won.

PeTeRL90
03-27-2004, 04:19 PM
If Xavier wins it all this year (which is unlikely, but don't forget the Villanova team), then I'mma be pissed, because I had Xavier to win it last year.

Kirobaito
03-28-2004, 02:09 AM
That was one hell of a game.

Dingo Jellybean
03-28-2004, 03:18 AM
I'm hoping no #1's go through now.

I was hoping for a Georgia Tech, Xavier, Alabama, and St.Joe's final 4...something no one predicted in the preseason.

PeTeRL90
03-28-2004, 03:27 AM
Well, Georgia Tech and Xavier still have a shot.

Am I the only one from our pool that has the team they picked to win it all in the tourney still?

Kirobaito
03-28-2004, 03:32 AM
No. I have Duke beating Oklahoma State in the final.

EDIT: Well, our pool is already decided. I'm in second, and Denmark has the same results as me the rest of the way. 3rd's F4 is messed up, so it's over. I'll take second, though. Congrats, Denmark. Lucky bastard.

EDIT: F4's decided. I got 3 of 4. Come on, Blue Devils!

Dingo Jellybean
04-04-2004, 05:57 AM
Ha. OKST and Duke losing probably knocked off like 90% of the people who had these four teams in the F4.

I was hoping for G-Tech and UConn to win and they did. Now I want G-Tech to win...even though I'll still be dead last in the brackets. :(

eestlinc

Kirobaito
04-04-2004, 12:34 PM
Dammit.

EDIT: Congrats, UConn. They played well. It woulda been nice to see Ga Tech win, though. They almost came back.
