I felt like making a thread about our beloved computers and exactly what we do with them. So if you feel like it answer these questions.

Is your system a brand name system? If so what?: Mine is sorta made from the chassix, mother board, and processer from two compaqs my uncle let me have after he took a few parts out of it to add to his new system he build.

What has to be the best item inside your system? The Ethernet/ NIC card. Easy to set up for LAN parties.

Is the computer you use alot your own? Yes it's mine, mine alone, nobody else is aloopwed to go near it. Its my baby, my presssioussss.[/smeagle]

Where in your house is your computer located at? In my bedroom, where nobody can get to it.

What OS does your PC use? Windows XP Professional, I might upgrade to 2000 when I get some money.

What do you use your computer for alot? Games, web browsing, and music. LOUD music with that mother of a soundcard

Have you ever actaully lugged your computer to some placeo utside your house? If so where?: I take my PC to LAN parties at some friends houses alot. The farthest I had ever taken it was my Skill Center in Net Plus class, it was my last day before Summer Break so Mr. G let us all have a huge fragfest on Half Life and we where aloowed to bring our own computers if we wished. I had to lug mine on the high school bus with my own speakers, mouse and Keyboard (Mr. Gs keyboards and Meeces suck, half of them are castrated) and then I had to get back on the bus and carry the whole thing home when I got off, I wish I were allowed to drive to high school.

Have a nice day :)

Is your system a brand name system? If so what?:
It's a Dell.

What has to be the best item inside your system?
Yeah, I'd say the Ethernet card as well. Unlimited broadband courtesy of college

Is the computer you use alot your own?
Yup. I'm in my own room at college, with my own PC.

Where in your house is your computer located at?
See previous question.

What OS does your PC use?
Windows ME.

What do you use your computer for alot?
Web browsing, music, word processing, watching DVDs, games...

Have you ever actaully lugged your computer to some placeo utside your house? If so where?:
Yes, I had to get it from home to college in the first place. I also have had to take it to a storage centre over the summer holidays when college doesn't let me leave any of my stuff in residence. I've taken my old computer once over to a LAN party.

Is your system a brand name system? If so what?:
PC: Some cheapy crappy one I got cheap. I think I've only replaced the RAM and the old NIC though, everything else is either original or added.
Laptop: I won it at a university competiton thing at IBM, so yes, I guess it's a standard make IBM model. :p

What has to be the best item inside your system?
PC: I don't think I'd call anything "best". I guess 1 GB RAM and 200 GB HD space is more than most people though, considering how old it is.
Laptop: Again, dunno. TV-out is useful though.
Since both have firewire support though, I can use my 250 GB external drive with either - I think I need another one soon too (maybe 300 GB this time). :D

Is the computer you use alot your own? Both are, yes.

Where in your house is your computer located at? In my room.

What OS does your PC use? XP Pro on the PC, XP Pro SP1 on the laptop. I don't plan to use linux until I get another seperate computer for that.

Have you ever actaully lugged your computer to some place outside your house? If so where?: Between home and college.

MY PC is a complete pile of crap. I don't have the cash to build a good one right now so it's made of scavenged parts which are years out of date. :( Pity me. There are no side panels (merely a steel frame) and the noise made by the clapped-out 300W PSU is frightening... it sounds like a jet engine idling.

CPU: x86 P3 Celeron 1.1GHz
RAM: 128mb PC133
Graphics Adaptor: TNT2 AGP 32mb
Sound: SB Live! 5.1
Mainboard: It's so SHITE I don't actually know. It has slots into which some parts can fit, that's all that matters!

Storage: 7200rpm ATA100 20Gb HDD, 16x DVD ROM, 24x16x24 CDRW, Iomega external zip drive.

There's fans fixed to the northbridge with zipties because I fear it overheats (the original heatsink "broke off" when the board was allegedly dropped)... and I'm pretty sure even the stupidest goldfish gets fewer "out of memory" errors. Perhaps I push it too hard... :greenie:

The best item in my system? it's all trash... so I wouldn't give two h00ts if it blew up and burned to death. It would be a good excuse to build a new one anyway... with a shiny new AMD 64bit processor :D raa.
