are you in debt??

I'm not talkin you owe someone 50 bucks, I'm thinkin like credit card, car payment, mortgage, etc.

I learned today from this company Primerica (subsidiary of citigroup *#1 company in the world, appx worth 1.3 trillion) that 2% of all people in debt have a real plan to get out of debt. Interesting stuff

No, I think I'm pretty smart with my money. I use my credit card sometimes, but from time to time, I mostly rely on my debit card. Mainly because I won't worry as much if I overspend.

It's amazing how many people don't think about what they spend...even my mom is guilty of it too.

I have about $34,000 in student loans/lines of credit.

I have some credit card debt, but that'll be all paid up by the end of the week, so I don't think it counts :)

My net plus training is free because its funded by public high schools (except the cert test which costs 100 dollars to take.)

As for debt I kinda owe my friends about 50 dollars when we were betting on basketball games a few years ago.

I forgot what I was gonna say.

EDIT I just started school last fall and I currently have a subsidized $1360.00 loan and a $555.xx credit card debt. Comparably, I feel pretty well balanced, but I still flip out about it sometimes.

Just one big mortgage. Everything else gets paid up in full every month.

Never live beyond your means.

I don't.

I pay what I owe, and I rarely owe more than £20, and usually it's only a few pounds or such borrowed from a friend for lunch and such.

I probably owe my parents thousands of dollars in food, taxes, medical expenses, and emotional damage. I'll pay them back by not putting them in an old folks home.

I'm only 15, and I don't yet have a job, so I can't yet get a car/credit card, so I've got plenty of time before I'll be in debt.

I was in dept about $500 to my grandma a year or so ago when she loaned me money to fix my car, but I payed that off after a couple of months and haven't been in debt since. Then again, I haven't moved out of my parents' house yet.

Yeah, but I earn enough to pay my bills so it doesn't matter so much :) about £600 on credit card, and about that again on a finance contract for one of my synthesizers. but hey, it's managable. I'll be paying it for years but at least nobody breaks my legs or repo's my shit.

I was about 7000 in debt. I got that all paid off about a year ago. I don't owe anyone anything. (In fact, a couple people are in debt to me, I wish they'd pay me back...)

well... a horse's head on the pillow works wonders if you're in a hurry to receive payment :)

It's amazing how fast a debt goes away when you work.

(I don't work)

People owe me money. They should pay up so I don't have to go into student debt. Yes.

Student Loans, Mortgage AND credit card. Nothing like working just to survive [/end sarcasm]

Student loans are not part of debt. Mainly because most, if not all, student loans are subsidized and you have about 10 years to pay them off anyways...even if you can't pay it off, there's many subsidized options to consider anyways.

student loans still appear on your credit report and if you don't pay them on time you get a bad credit history. Anyway, my credit card is paid off, but I do have about $12,000 in student loans still.

Yeah, that'll really console me when I've got a five or six grand debt hanging over my head before I can even start making money =/
