click the state names and drag them on the state location. Go!

I got 8: cali, oregon, washington, florida, NY, texas, and two by sheer trial and error.

41, some of the eastern ones were tough since I'm a west boy. Also, I was unaware that the test was timed until about halfway through.

EDIT: Second try: 48/48

Let's do one for countries now!

SpiritWolf
03-26-2004, 06:52 AM
Bah I only got 30/48. I didn't realized it was timed at first either.

Strider
03-26-2004, 06:53 AM
I own you both. I got all 48 on the first try, with half the timer left.

Peegee
03-26-2004, 07:08 AM
There's 50 states. Where's alaska and hawaii?

Del Murder
03-26-2004, 07:12 AM
I guess that test was made in the 1930s.

Peegee
03-26-2004, 07:14 AM
On flash no less. I wonder what percentage of the population of N. America would not be able to get Hawaii and Alaska?

OCC: Hawaii's a state? I think so anyway, but it just seems weird. I thought Hawaii is a communist country. *was* it?

eestlinc
03-26-2004, 07:19 AM
that was not hard. i would like to note that it does not credit the upper peninsula of michigan as a valid answer, though.

Skogs
03-26-2004, 11:07 AM
Easy, and I'm not even American!

Levian
03-26-2004, 11:25 AM
I got 14 :p

The east side is hard.

Nait
03-26-2004, 12:37 PM
12, amongst them Minnesota and Michigan. I had no idea about the east. Some of these were like "wtf, that's a state?" for me.

Roogle
03-26-2004, 01:12 PM
Umm, I got 47. It wouldn't let me place Rhode Island.

Loony BoB
03-26-2004, 01:18 PM
I got 19, I should probably be less random and more hurried next time, but it was more fun finding out where the hell the obscure states go rather than doing the ones I already knew (which totalled about 12 or something).

DocFrance

The New England region does get pretty sketchy... even for us home-grown Americans.

edczxcvbnm
03-26-2004, 02:25 PM
48/48 on the first try with some time left to spare. It isn't THAT hard people. The west is the easiest because they don't have 13 trillion states crammed into a breakfast sandwich. Everyone who lives in america and didn't get this sucks.

Levian
03-26-2004, 02:35 PM
First: 14
Second: 15

That made me very very angry.

And I find I have problems with the midwest. I couldn't figure out where the hell Wisconson was, even though I have a very good friend who lives there. *shame*

The midwest always gets me. I can do the east coast no prob.

Good thing this test doesn't make you also place all the capitals also.

13/48. Cool.

Dr Unne
03-26-2004, 06:06 PM
First time, I clicked a name and let go while it was still in the list and it took a point off me so I got mad and restarted. Second time I got all 48. Capitals would be a bit harder, yeah.

ZeZipster
03-26-2004, 06:14 PM
I got negative 35.

Dr Unne
03-26-2004, 06:20 PM
I just noticed that it says I failed even though I got 48/48. Is there any way to pass the test? Maybe the programmer who wrote it failed the third grade too.

Strider
03-26-2004, 06:26 PM
Talk about burn. . . Unne gets the short bus. *shakes his head*

Lindy

7/48

I'm not American though, so me needing to know the states is unimportant.

I got California, Illinois and Texas first try though.

Then again, I don't even know where most of the counties in England are, but then we don't have to learn them to pass a year of school.

48, easy. I want to see a capitals one. I used to rule at that.

EDIT: Take the test again and try putting Michigan on the UP. It won't let you. I think whoever made this test isn't too smart themselves.

1st try I got 47/48, with the 48th in hand... :/

Tokki Wartooth
03-27-2004, 04:18 AM
I got 6/48. I actually knew which California was, and around where Florida and New York were. It took me more than half the time to guess where Washington was, though. I just clicked on every single space and of course it ended up being the last one I chose. :(

I'd like to see you bastards pass grade 3 IN CANADA!

Yamaneko
03-27-2004, 04:38 AM
Anyone can miss Canada. Tucked away all down there. :D

I got them all, only because I did this a few months back in my Gov't class. The East Coast is the hardest. Why can't they just form into like two or three big states like over here?

But I agree with whoever it was early on that said they should make a countries one. =D

I could do a countries one, methinks. I got 13 first go *wins*

Kirobaito
03-28-2004, 03:13 AM
I found something close to a countries one; it's actually individual continents. www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/afrquiz.html is the Africa Quiz. You can navigate to the other ones from there. My scores:

Africa: 141 of 147 points *lucky guesses*
Asia: 82 of 84 points *stupid "-stan" countries...
Australia: 21 of 24 points
Canada: 36 of 39 points *I've never heard of Prince Edward Island*
Caribbean: 29 of 72 points *stupid little islands...*
Central America: 42 of 42 points!
Europe: 104 of 111 points *too many countries in Yugoslavia!*
Middle East: 85 of 87 points
South America: 38 of 39 points
USA: 150 of 150 points
World (Oceans and Continents): 33 of 33 points
TOTAL: 771 of 828...

or 93.1%. I think that's pretty good. Let's see if anyone can beat me! And NO USING A MAP! I didn't, so no one else should.

Africa - 138 of 147 (admittedly, I'm a bit rusty there)
Asia - 81 of 84
Australia - 24 of 24
Canada - 35 of 39
Caribbean - 47 of 72
Central America - 40 of 42
Europe - 108 of 111
Middle East - 84 of 87
South America - 39 of 39
U.S.A. - 150 of 150
World (Ocean and Continents) - 33 of 33

Total - 779 of 828

So much for that challenge, huh?

EDIT: Overall, I wasn't as sharp as I could be. It didn't help that they were hard to click sometimes.

Dr Unne
03-28-2004, 04:13 AM
Europe: 85/111
World: 32/33 Come on, Artic Ocean? How am I supposed to know where to click for that? It's not like there's lines on the map separating the oceans.
Canada: 29/39 Miracle I got that many.
Asia: 65/84

At this point, I became too bored to do any more, and I'd rather not embarrass myself by attempting the Africa or South America tests.

Del Murder
03-28-2004, 04:15 AM
I'd have to agree on the Arctic Ocean thing.

And, sure, you guys know where all those countries are, but can you sing the Anamaniacs country song? Didn't think so.
