Just wondering why.
Threads pop into existence withing seconds of clicking the link; the Announcements page chugs away for quite a while...

Well, there are 172 announcements and most threads don't even reach 50 posts, so it probably has to do with that.

Okay, I never noticed that there were that many announcements. Hmmm. Hmmmmmm. None of them by me. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

I admit it's slower than threads, but it still only took 2-3 seconds :p

Stupid fast connections...It takes 10-20 seconds for a thread, about 35 seconds for the announcements.

the reason people make announcements is so that we don't have to bother reading them

Blame Loony BoB, he insists on all the announcements being visible.

Maybe we should make most of those non-visible again? I don't know how much point there is in announcements from 2 years ago.

Magestar is back, and needs new blood. (01-08-2002 until 02-08-2012) Okay, here's the deal. About two days before I was going to close it for lack of interest, Magestar came back to life.

Presently, there are only 3 major players involved. The game needs some new blood. Therefore, I've decided to make some changes.

First of all, I'm introducing a free-for-all RP'ing thread. In other words, the game isn't closed anymore. Anybody at all can just post a character profile and join in.

Secondly, in the two main threads, I'm looking for people to take over the main characters.

In the thread following the Wolfpack, I'd like to have somebody take control of the characters Thierry Cedric and Gerald Matsuken. I'm assuming everybody in the Companions thread has given up, and hence all six positions are open again. The characters are Chexit, Mitsada, Chach, Bossker, Kross, and Serge.

I'm also considering starting up a war games section--see the poll in the Magestar forum for more details.

Note that the two main threads are STILL not open for people to just jump in--Those are the ones following my script. The people in those threads are Major Characters--immune from death, 'cause the script needs them. Major Characters must be auditioned for.

<b>Regarding Dr. Unne.</b> (11-24-2001 until 11-24-2012)
At his own request, Dr. Unne will (permanently) no longer be serving on the Administrative Staff of Eyes on Final Fantasy. As a result, we ask that you direct any inquiries or requests to other members of the Administration, in the future, instead of bothering Unne.

Notice (06-13-2003 until 07-13-2014) Spatvark will not be allowed to make announcements anymore.

I like having them all there because they're fun to read, but yeah. It's like a little bit of EoFF history. There aren't any other threads with that kind of "what happened when" in EoFF's vB lifespan, so yeah. At least, not that accurate and in-depth.

I understand, there are good reasons for keeping 'em... but perhaps in the/an archive? The last couple of months' announcements are all we really need to have immediately accessible, in my humble opinion.

That's a good idea. Someone can change the old announcements from All Forums to just the archive forums, and only the recent announcements will be All Forums.

What, 8 hours, and they haven't been moved yet? :p

I'll do them later if someone else (BoB *hinthint*) doesn't get there first, I'm stepping out at the moment :p
