View Full Version : Are you Healthy?

Would you consider yourself a healthy person?

I do, though I can always improve. I believe the key to being and staying healthy is to never get satisfied, and always push yourself more and further. I've kept away from sweets and junk food for the most part, don't smoke, do drugs, or drink, and get outside whenever I can, but I still feel I can get healthier.

Enough about me though, do YOU feel healthy? If not, why not, and what do you think you can do to improve this? Even if you do feel healthy, are you satisfied, or are you crazy like me and are constantly trying to get even healthier?

Take care all.

I'm about average weight, no drugs, no smoking, no alcohol. No major injuries or disabilities. I live with someone who is disabled, so I value my health very much, even the ability to walk and run. I'm not a fit physical speciman, but I'm not too bad. I eat junk food, but I like it, and might as well enjoy it while I can. Most of my extended family is grossly overweight, and compared to them I'm very fit.

I may eat like a pig, but I exercise more than enough to keep myself strong and fit.

Not at all. I'll die by the time I'm 50 but I will have lived more in those few years than twenty average people combined.

I suppose, if you are indeed happy with yourself, then who's to stop you? Still, I think that being healthy makes life much more enjoyable, but that's just me.

Take care all.

I could stand do lose ten or so pounds and cut back on my meat consumption (yeah, right), but otherwise I'm in enough shape to do an hour and a half of vigorous exercise without cramping or dying. :)

EDIT: Yeah, no smoking, drugs and I drink maybe three or four times a year.

My diet is approximately 90% meat. I'm trying to get that up to 95 or 96.

Maybe not, but I wish it was.

I don't smoke or do any drugs, and I rarely drink, but I don't exercise (save for in mosh pits) and don't eat right in the least. I'm still skinny and I don't get sick often... but eh. *shrugs*

Where are the veggies?

Take care all.

TheAbominatrix

Guh, I hate veggies, save for a select few... and usually only if they're smothered in butter.

The Captain

Butter with vegetables, sort of like ordering coffee with your sugar... still, if it helps you eat them, I'd say it's for the best!

Take care all.

Carrots are the best!

I think we need a carrots vs. cucumbers thread. *makes it*

I don't smoke and definitely don't use drugs. I'm always striving for better and better scores on my PT tests. I have a big APFT coming up shortly so I'm really pushing myself.

I used to eat healthily but now that I live on my own I pretty much just eat pasta/pies/macaroni and cheese for tea every night. I rarely eat junk food though, too expensive.

I drink but I don't think that's affecting my health too much and even if it was I wouldn't care.

So yes I am healthy :smash::smash::smash::smash::smash:

No I am not a healthy person. Live fast... die young... leave a beautiful corpse!! Right?

I could consider myself a very healthy person as long as I didn't drink or smoke, ie I work out every day and eat a good diet. I'll probably stop though when my habits take an impact on me.

Well I don't smoke and I don't drink alchohol very often. I also drink lots of water, about 2 litres a day, since it's supposed to be good for your skin and energy and stuff.

On the other hand I live on junk food and drive everywhere.

So no, I'm not very healthy. But I'm working on it.

The only healthy thing I have done recently is lose about 75lbs. I eat like crap still. So I guess the only REAL healthy thing I do is I drink water 95% of the time and completely stopped drinking pop. I been trying to find time to work out, but that isn't happening. I am also trying to eat more letuce.

EDIT: Yeah, I don't smoke, drink, or do any drugs. I got that going for me.

I am very unhealthy. I have a bad heart, an enlarged thyroid gland (not dangerous but it massivly slows my metabolism, and if it swells I could die) I have a history of colon cancer and heart disease throughout my family, I'm overweight, and I've done alot of drugs in my past.

Working on turnin it all around the past year or so, and on the right track

Yeah, I would say I'm fairly healthy. I eat loads of veg and meat and stuff and try and avoid the majority of junk food. I play lots of sport, I do hockey and I study PE in school.
I also managed to get 3/4 of the way through a CORE muscular endurance test, thats like 2.15 mins. Quite impressive as no-one else in my clas got past 1 minute. Thats 2.15 of holding your whole body weight on your elbows and toes while doing crazy stuff. Hehe.

I work out every day, eat a healthy diet, and avoid the usual things that are bad for your body.

I'm quite unhealthy, though, which sucks. All of that effort only really serves to keep my head above water. Bleh.

Well, I try to maintain a balanced diet foodwise, but I find that my consumption is off. I eat one big meal a day, usually in the evening, which is very bad for me. I'm trying to cut back on fast food lunches. However I drink water constantly, and I walk pretty much everywhere I go. My weight could probably use some attention, but I'm not hurting my body because of it (according to my family doctor) so I feel pretty confident in my health.

I do drink occasionally, and too much when I do. Something else to work on, maybe.

I have better things to think about. Health isn't that important. I'll start to care when I can't dance for hours on end.

I excersize every other day and try to eat healthy things, to some extent. I used to go running but hurt my knee one time and now it hurts every time I go :(.

The Captain
04-03-2004, 02:13 AM
Did you ever go to see a doctor about that? It would be a terrible pity to not do anything, if your knee could be healed and you could once again be out and about as you like.

Take care all.

I'm not very healthy at all. I eat pizza every week, drink pop all the time, and watch T.V. and play video games. NOT HEALTHY AT ALL! :( :( :( :( :(

I am a very thin person, a bit too thin actually. I dont work out, but I walk at least one hour to visit my friends every weekend (I hate taking the bus). I drink lots of milk (1 liter every morning, then some more during the day).

Hahaha.

It doesn't hurt to walk on. It's been a few weeks, maybe I'll go running tonight and see how things go.
