I couldnt get into the original Tactics the first time around, but I loved TA. It's definitly not a game you wanna get into for heavy story and character interaction, it never really gets it. There's story, there's a bit of character development, but not much compared to a normal FF game. It doesnt change much later in the game, but there's some neat stuff between the human kids.

Not one of the best games I've played. But still had some nice originality over other RPG's. I thought it was fairly nice, and not impossibly hard like the original FFT which was nice. Although I still say it could of used some more work to feel a bit more epic like, like other FF's. But still entertaining none the less.

It's a good game to play in short bursts for a while, which is what a good game boy game should be. A large epic with a complex storyline just wouldn't fit well in the palm of my hand. I'll leave those games for the Playstation.

I don't dislike this game, but can't shine a light to the original ff tactics, but then again not many games can. it's ok but it couldv'e been better.(I hate the law system)

Agreed, the real pain about FFTA is that every damn turn takes two hours. Please, couldn't they have made it possible to skip with the A button during battle?
I couldn't get into the original Tactics, so I didn't try this one.

I thought this game was alright. I never finished it though - It gets boring after a little while.
FFTA makes me happy. :aimsun:

I personally think it's a very good game. Not the best game of Square. But you first have to try it for a couple of hours before you like it.

I hated this game, i hated everything about it, from the judge system to the crapy jobs and abilitys. when i got it i was expecting something along the same "great game" lines as FFT but well i have to say imo i just can't stand this game...why couldn't they just make FFT with some new jobs and a few more missions? everything about this game just seems..."kiddied" if that makes sense.

I also think that the original fft was much better, because in this one, you cannot stay on the main quest whether you want to or not, cause too much side missions are there, or I even think the whole game is side quests and there is no main quest. Its also stupid that they have no job points like fft did which made way more sense then the ap like in ff9 here, because now to master skillls you cant do it in 1 battle but you have to join so many, and also it suck how you only get 1 exp for hitting a lower level guy, its all bullplop, im only playing it cause i wans to battle my friend and kick his ass/.
Also someone mentioned that fft was impossibnly hard.,.,, i dont think so, it was actually easy if you knew what you were doing, and missions went from one to the next and not confusing like here where you go from one place to the next and get no money for breaking laws. and they even took out 2 of the best jobs, mime and math mage! stupid bastards, I hate ENIX! theyre the worst thing to happen to square since that other crappy game they made, i forgot its name....

As I always say,
Storyline wise, FFT > FFT:A
Battle system wise, FFT:A > FFT
It's so obvious to point out. I like the Judge system. Because of it, I can actually get myself into trouble. You don't play this game for story, it is not that kind of game.
slow wasn't a problem for me for I'm using an emulator. But no linking :(

I think it was pretty clear made out in many reviews that it didn't concentrate on the story-line, but more on the side-quest, with especially the battles between the clans.
I personally think this is a great way to level up. And a tip before you will buy a game again and then says it is stupid. Read a review. I always do, and I am never disapointed.

I bought it, played it for three hours and realized I couldnt stand playing it at all. Just not my type of game.

The game certainly isn't the be all end all strategy RPG out there, but it's decent. There are times when the endless battling becomes routine and boring... especially toward the end when the enemies are all too weak to give you good experience... I had to resort to hitting my own team to level up my guys. Heehee. But overall... not bad.

It wasn't spectacular, but it was decent. I like FFT much better, which is why I've been playing it a lot and haven't been playing FFT:A.

As I already said, it surely wasn't the best game Square ever made. But it was good. I also said read reviews. Even if it's a Final Fantasy game. For example I read all the reviews about the FF games. And in the Netherlands FF IV and FF V were together in one package. I readt that V would be very hard. But because FF IV looked a nice game I bought it. Same with Origins. I liked FF I, but I hate FF II. If FF II and FF V were apart, I would never bought them. So I stick to my tip, read reviews before you buy a game.
Second: I think we should be glad. Because it's finally again a FF game on a handheld system. Yeah!!!! Altough the story kinda is lame. I think the battles with the clans rule. I find it very charming. Like I already said :D

Not exactly, Final Fantasy Legends I, II, III, and Final Fantasy Adventure.

Ah, my apologies. That "again" didn't seem to fit in the context of the sentence, grammatically speaking, so I wasn't sure.

Well, the laws suck but the names of the weapons are cool, and the jobs are cool as well. e.g. Cactus stick, Gadgeteer

I just beat the game, but there is more then enough to do, you can go (SPOILERS)
find secret charachters (what a word) like Ritz, Babus and Cid. And some new very fun missions
