Can I find some of the FMVs anywhere? I've been trying to find something decent to extract and watch them, but it's frustrating me and I'd rather just download the ones I want. The one I'm REALLY looking for is the "hidden" movie that shows Aeris getting revived that I've heard so much about, if it even exists. Are there any sites that host the movies in standard (MPEG or something) formats?

There's no such movie.

But I thought I read here somewhere that they were going to make it possible to revive Aeris in the game and decided to take that out at the last minute...but that a lot of the signs were still there. There is dialogue written for her after her death if you revive her with a Gameshark, that extra ledge in the final battle that she would have been standing on, and a bunch of other crap.

The extra dialogue is from when the producers hadn't decided what order the story would be. For example, they were originally going to have the Great Glacier come before the Ancient Forest.

She's been dead for seven years, OK? Get over it. Anything you've heard to the contrary is just shameless rumor-mongering.

There could be any number of reasons why there's leftover Aeris coding late in the game, but it all comes down to video game creation being a long, involved, complicated process that isn't always as pat as the final product would lead you to believe. i've heard that one of the developers decided relatively late in production that rather than make Aeris the final love interest, they'd have her killed and center on Tifa instead. It could just be the remnants of an early possibility that Aeris be revived, later scrapped. It could be any number of things. i don't know, and it doesn't matter.

The point is, that's junk code - it should have been fixed (removed), but wasn't. Remember the nasty translations that plagued FF7? The game was, after all, a bit rushed, so it doesn't surprise me. What would it matter to leave in some extraneous junk that no one would notice anyway?

But then somebody did a bit of gamesharking, noted her extra lines and her platform at the end of the game, got a little imaginative and started rumors that somehow, some way, we could revive her. It isn't true.

EDIT: Oops, got a bit off topic. Your best bet for movie FMVs is, as always, a peer-to-peer filesharing network. You illegal pirate, you.

If you have the game discs you can rip the movies straight from them. The program is from Zophars Domain but I cant remember the name...I think The Abominatrix told me awhile back about it, she may know the name. Im too lazy to go look for it

Or, if you have the PC version, the FMV's are .avi's that you can read right off the discs with your computer.

Is it illegal to talk about game/file burning/cracking here?
Come on, we've all done it. :D

Dear oh dear...

People die! Just like real life, not all fiction is a fairy tale either.

Get-over-it.

I can't believe people are still posting about this after all these years...
