As for this question, I think my tournament proved that Cloud is the best FF character so he needs to lead this all star lineup, though I do think Yuna or Locke would make a fine leader.

Yeah, that about sums up my thoughts.

I wouldn't like any of the existing characters to be the main character. It's be fun to have a new character and all of the other "all-stars" are available to play. Maybe like an Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen where you can put them all into parties and it's more strategy or something.

FF6 is 2D :p At least it's 2D done darn well, unlike FF7 which is 3D done rather poorly in places. It's good because of the other aspects of the game as well, namely storyline, characters (these are far better and numerous than FF7's), and music :p

I'll agree with Mr. Gogo though for this game - a new character as the lead would be better and the characters from the other games can make guest appearances, bit like in KH, I guess :p

There's a PSX remake, yes, but I think the SNES version played on the PC using an emulator is better, plus you can download that one from the front site here :p

Instead of complaining about what is and what isn't on the poll, it's quite easy to say who you'd choose, without voting for an option that's there. A poll-maker can't really include details on things he doesn't know, and a poll can't cater to every individual's personal opinion, either. It's like if someone makes a poll on "What's your favourite food?" and then gets about a thousand replies saying "omg ur poll r da sux cuz i liek tomato w/ mustard n creem n no salt plzkthx why dont ur poll haev MY oponion?!!?!!?!?!?!?!" even though there are twenty popular choices listed on the poll options...

Anyway, in my opinion, Cloud is the best "hero" of the FF series - he overcomes genuine burdens, confronts profound horrors from his past, and makes a comeback to unite his comrades and strive toward a goal, even though he knows he mightn't succeed. He fights for altruistic purposes, as well as personal vendetta, but not because he's getting paid or because he wants mad schnoogles from a girl he travelling with. He actually cares about the world's wellbeing, and about correcting the trouble that was caused when he was used. He also never whines about his personal issues at a critical time, or treats them as being more important than the big picture. He depends on his friends, though, and and creates strong bonds of trust and support. Good qualities for a leader/hero.

However, another good "all-star" leader would be Celes Chere from FFVI (not on the poll, but do you see me raving?). She's strong and independent, idealistic and courageous, but also with a very human sense of vulnerability and guilt - qualities I admire about Cloud, too.

A fictional leader or hero shouldn't be some idealised image of perfection, in my opinion, but rather a charcter with believable flaws, and personal hurdles to overcome during their quest.

Not having really played FF4-6, the 'all-star hero' is Cloud in my opinion. I share the views that you have on Cloud - not once can I remember him whinging or complaining about the massive job at hand which is a quality of a true leader.

If you really want me to, I will though.Yep, Cecil sure did a great turnaround... but but as far as aI can tell, he wasn't as much of a 'victim' of his past as Cloud was. Cecil, it seems, chose to be a Dark Knight and a killer because the King wanted him to, whereas Cloud was manipulated, used and abused by more powerful forces. For some reason, that alters my opinion of the characters. But then, I really need to re-play FFIV...

In the poll it says,"Gilgamesh-V". Gilgamesh is a character in FFV, a fairly inept but persistent opponent, but with a whole different side to him as well. A four-armed warrior, armed with a variety of weapons and dogged determination.
Incidentally, Gilgamesh is also a GF of sorts in FFVIII, but that's another story...

i could not add Squall to the list cuz i felt that he was the worst main character(my total opinion)~ i felt that there were 20 other characters that deserved 2 b in the poll more than him cuz i dont see him as the "ultimate final fantasy leader"!
