Rinoa and Squall, must read! Spoilers I'm sure!

Hey peoples! Ok...read all ya posts, now can you help me out here about. Is Ultimecia a offspring/great offspring etc of squall and rinoa?

Seeing Rinoa is a sorceress...would that mean...because ultimecia is offspring/great offspring etc of squall and rinoa...yet ultimecia is from the future who possessed edea, who gave her sorceress powers to Rinoa...and then squall and rinoa go to ultimecias time to kill ultimecia whom is there offspring/great offspring?

So it's like one HUGE giant circle! Ultimecia possess people in the past to achieve time compression..but for what reason?
She "makes" rinoa a sorceress by squall and co defeating edea and edea passing on her powers. Ultimecia is a offspring/great offspring etc of squall and rinoa, which means...Ultimecia..made Rinoa a sorceress when ultimecia is offspring/great offspring etc of squall and rinoa, which means squall and rinoa "created ultimecia".

So if you can understand that...am I right? And does any of that make ANY sense :P

PS does that mean...like squall and rinoa have kids an get married Nice thought AWWW sweet as!!!

So in actaul fact Squall and Rinoa and co have to go to the future to kill there great offspring ultimecia, so she cannot make possess people in Squall and co. time.

And the reason Ultimecia goes back to Squall time is because she knows Ellone exsists in that time. Sorry I forgot what Ellone can do oops :P
But yea..so I guess thats the whole reason for going to that time and possessing SPOILER! Edea, Adel and Rinoa, to find Ellone and oh! Achieve time compression.

And no one can die or vanish at the end, coz if Ultimecia is Squall and Rinoas great offsoring in the future, no one can die...coz then if they do Squall and Rinoa could never have kids!

So if that is all true, then all your R=U theorys are now all stuffed. Because then Rinoa would not become Ultimecia, but Rinoa is a great ancestor of Ultimecia!

Good question, and who says Squall and Rinoa ever get it on? I can picture Selphie landing the ragnorak on Rinoa, OOPSIE!

But more to the point there is realy no sound proof to your theory.

I don't think it makes more sense than R=U theory, and i certainly don't remember ever seen or heard nothing in the game or in the boards that could possibly hint such situation.
But it's your opinion and if it makes sense to you, well it's not my problem.

Plus it could happen. Where as the widley debated R=U theory does not make sense, well to me anyway, if you kill Ulty at the end and Rinoa become ultimecia then Rinoa would die automatically. See!

But I ain't saying my theory is right! Just that it is also valid.

Where in the game does it say anything to support the r=u theory???

Neither am i and i'm sorry if i gave you the wrong impression. The ultimecia=rinoa it's probably the biggest most discussed theory, in the game there is a series of facts that could be interpreted as hints for this situation here's a link if you haven't seen it:

As for the time issue, if rinoa died, ultimecia would, but the death of ultimecia would not affect this time, think about it.

Far out..I looked at the webpage you gave me, it sure is possible! It was spooky seeing Rinoas face change into Ultimecias! But hang on, think about the final movie (I have onky seen screenshots) but those pics on your webpage thing happen while squall see's himself losing Rinoa, but Rinoas come back through time to save him...everythiing is OK. I believe that that is what happened if Rinoa hadn't cam back to rescue which she did and that explains everything.
The flower field seen still makes since. When Squall travels through time with his comrades Ultimecia castle is at the orphange, but he is going IN the fute to deafeat her. Yet When he does, they go back through time trying to hold on to the image of Edeas house to make it back safely, they all do except for Squall thats when he probably reealizes what could happen and then Rinoa saves him and brings him back through time.

When all that is done and there at Balamb Garden (end movie) everything is perfect. Eg the good has happened. Ulty was beaten, Rinoa can no longer be possessed. BUT Rinoa then has to be defeated (not killed) so she no longer has to be a sorceress therefore she is not Ulty. She passes on her powers to someone else but seeing Ulty was deafeated she can no longer possess the people with Sorceresses powers therefore the powers jut being passed on till the end of time..

gosh this is onfusing! but hope that makes sense!

But then again..that theory is more farfetched than any others! But then my thoery makes more sense, seeing if Rinoas fave changes into Ultimecias...could mean her great offspring etc...

But anyways..personally I think we have all got caught up in making FF8 more confusing than it is! Really. I full just go with the storyline posted on www.fflegend.com

I seriously didn't get your theory at first. It made me confused. My head was going around in circles. The only real problem is that there is no proof to suggest that U = S&R's offspring.

I know that Rinoa does not = Ultimecia...and that Ultimecia has no relation to Squall and Rinoa.

Also if Seifer is Cids and Edeas son and last if Ulty has any realtion to Squall and Rinoa.

well of course she will be an offspring. rinoa is the last sorcerress alive, marrys squall (well i should hope so or the games a waste of time if they break up) and then has kids? why would she pass on her abilities to another who not offspring? R=U is so unplausiable to me. ultimecia would at least have ONE rinoa character trait or LOOK a bit like rinoa if r=u. she would RECOGNISE herself at least! sum scene like

" muhahaha, i could not kill my zquall and my zelf without erazing myzelf too! but with time comprezion i can bypazz this, live, and then erdicate all exiztence. "

u would think the writers would state the r=u in game to increase the story, which is lacking.

anyway i,d be squall, cause hes like an arrogant surly version of me and VERY developed, infact, the only developed character imho.

I think that instead of making sequals for FFX and FFVII, they should have defenatly put some effort into making FFVIII-2. It would have tied up alot of plot holes and explained so much more.

Onboard the Ragnarok in disc 4, Rinoa wonders about that. She mentions that, even if the party defeats Ultimecia, then Rinoa's still going to pass her powers on some day, and eventually Utlimecia will receive them - again. A kind of inevitable cycle... knowing that an evil and cruel sorceress is going to wreak havoc some day, using her powers, and it's totally unavoidable.
