Hey I was just wondering, does Selphies limit break "The End" work on Ultimecia?

Sure does. I think it moves it to the next sequence (ie: to Griever, to final ultimecia, etc)

Yeah it works on ANY enemy in the whole game, absolutely anything.

funny 2 use it on omega occasionally, but its so cheap and sucky! pretty though.

What a way to beat her...pretty pointless you play for the end fight and you kill her so easily!

After all the story (which was beautiful, awesome, amazing etc) you just get rid of her so easily...thought it would be different.

thats the point, ultimecia is such an undeveloped villan its fitting u whoop her so easy. u thought the story was amazing? i think its quite the oppisite, an under developed inchorent flawed piece of garble.

but anyway, the end is REALLY hard 2 get. get 255 luck and it still doesnt appear as much as say lionheart. u can kill ultimecia just as easy anyway, just make sure u unlocked most of your abilitys...

Ok...i things its awesome the story ! I know shes like an un developed villian..but seriously she was supposed to be the most powerful sorceress...

I guess if you cast "The End" on anybody..there life ends...probably the whole point :D

actually adel was stronger. ultimecia just uses merges with griever and then time. the game is far 2 easy though. a big annoyance.

i thought the story rocked too but annoying things like seifers inane motives, the immature romance, the orphanege "revelation", irvines breakdown, zell, selphies, quistis, irvines character development collapse after disc 1 (ok zells parents but thats it) etc piss me off alot.

the end yep, means what it says, which it why so LONG 2 get! grrr...

I let my brother fight Ultimecia. He has never played FF8 before. He didn't use revive or recover, and got up to Griever.

I consider that a pretty easy boss.

The key phrase here is "I THINK." What are the facts? ... other than we all invested in it regardless that we like it or not.

Every end boss character from an FF game was easy as hell for me, because I was to leveled up. Usually there is a bonus boss that is extremely hard (the weapons, paragon, ozma) to satisfy that thirst of challenge in us. If the end boss was too hard, those who less like the game wouldn't care to beat it. I got friends that never finished FFVIII, IX, X and sold them back because they lost interest "it was too hard." And I still have VII rusting in my cabinet because i was too wrapped up in VIII, never finished. One day I'll finish it.

But the whole "THE END" kind of kills and contradicts it, doesn't it...

That's because Griever is easy to get up to. The first form of an end boss is never difficult.

I didn't even know there was a "Griever" until I got to Ultimecia. No one spoiled that for me...it wasn't even in the strategy guide...I'm glad!!!

Well you must be lucky, out of the times i fought Ultimecia, most of them i never even used a lionheart on her! And "The End" I never even seen it, and i mean EVER. :( What should i do?! I keep mashing DO OVER but Selphie keeps dieing. Although i got a weird magic once, Monsters grew wings and Flew away... That was weird... :confused: :confused: :confused:

The end is like cheating, they should have make selphie verry verry verry physicly weak because of her cheat magic.

It wouldn't matter if they did, you could just junction her strength way the heck up. The End isn't supposed to be an easy thing to get. It's rare that you'll get it and you can only use it at will if you're a dirty, filthy jesus hating cheater.

yea you gotta be at 1hp or something to get "the end." I never get it, I usually get the suck magic, like thundaga over and over, and her stats are at 255 for str, vit, mag, spr.

You can get The End relatively easily by popping open the disc cover just before an enemy's about to cast a spell. Spell animations have to load from the disc, so nothing'll happen. Then select Selphie, who should have low HP or Aura by the way, and start hammering 'O'. Be careful not to skip The End by mistake, or else you'll be "mad as a bug". Once The End comes up, unleash it at thine enemy who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

This even works for Ultimecia's final form, although The End won't defeat her outright - but it will take you right to the point where she starts to speak - "Reflect on your... childhood..."

hmm stupidest thing to happen to me last night sitting there hammerring away at a ruby dragon when selphie has her limit break go in to it and the spell "The end" came up in the window with the option of casting it 4 times. someone please tell me wtf point was of that also isn't it meant to appear with the option of casting it once? glitch?

yup probably...your one of the lucky ones...aprreciate the great blessing that got handed 2 you even if you are only gonna need 2 cast the end once :P Most of us sit there frustrated coz we can never get 'the end' and when we do we pass it accidently and kick ourselves.

It doesn't defeat her completely, but it allows you to skip all the fighting up to the point where she says, "Reflect on your childhood...", so basically you can avoid quite a drawn-out battle, depending on how strong your team is. Once you use The End in this fight, she'll be gone in only a few hits.

yes true, it takes i believe 5 sperate hits 2 finish her when she starts talking. 5 lion hearts or 5 fires, it dont matter.

Yea like aeris said, when she starts talkin, just walk up and tap her with anything, like a physical hit. You dont need magic, or lionheart. Basically when she starts talking, shes got 5hp, and every hit actually counts as 1.

Rapture. It's like death, but works more often. doesn't work on bosses, undead or Earth (i think).

the end does not work on ultimecia's final form, it does however work on everything else. i heard it doesnt work on undead creatures but i dont know i have never seen it while fighting an udnead creature

the end does not work on ultimecia's final form,It doesn't work in quite the same way, but it does have an effect. You know how Ultimecia starts talking when you've nearly beaten her final form? After that, she says another line each time you attack. Well, you can skip the first part of that fight and go straight to the talking by using The End. I tried this myself :-

Ultimecia: "I am Ultimecia... time shall compress... all existence denied".

Selphie: *The End*

Ultimecia: "Reflect on your... childhood..."

and so on.:)
