Now then, let me just start off by going OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!
Now I've got that out of the way, I was recently chatting to a certain person not to be named and they were asking me about good NES emulators so I asked them, "Why not try this online Megadrive emulator?" and they asked me what the hell was a Megadrive!!!
This is a multi questioned thread, do you know what a megadrive is? Did you ever own one? What was your favorite game for it?
Along with this is there anything (and I mean at all) that you found out exsisted recently that you never knew did and you still don't know what it is?
Now I must go and play Sonic the Hedgehog on my Megadrive Emulator, I shall check back in later, and if this has been moved to another forum I'll be annoyed, ANNOYED I SAY!

Is Megadrive the equivalent of Sega Master System? Because there might lie the confusion.

Nope, the Megadrive came after the master system and as a master system is 8 bits and a megadrive is 16 their very different.

Megadrive was what it was in Japan and here in Europe, I think - Americans had it renamed to Genesis because they like renaming everything including games just to be awkward :p
EDIT:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Genesis
Sega Genesis was a 16-bit video game console released in North America. It was successor of the Sega Master System and Sega's sole success in the console market. It launched the 16-bit era of console gaming, and in the end slightly out-selling rival Nintendo's SNES.
Internationally the console was known as the Sega Megadrive.

Is this the dead console we're talking about or have we moved onto the Play Station?

heh.. First time i ever heard of the 'megadrive' i was thinking...
"gee, that sounds like some sort of banana shaped vibrator or something...."
later to find out from a friend of mine that it was infact, the equivalent to the genisis due to the craziness of the american trend....

Yeah, I knew it was called teh Megadrive. I still think Genesis is a better name. It doesn't really matter though because I liked Super Nintendo better.
