I keep on trying to download stuff on torrents but Bit Torrent keeps arfing up. The downloads don't even move at all. Are there any other torrent applets other then bit torrent?

It's probably the file you're trying to download.

It's because BitTorrent is either the shit, or else just shit, and there's no telling when it'll be which.

Thanks Guu/Arche

You aren't giving us enough information. How many seeders are there? How many peers? Is it a new torrent? Which torrent is it?

You need the following applications regardless (just look them up I'm too lazy):

- Torrentspy: you can right-click a .torrent file and check how many seeders there are

- ABC (another bittorrent client): I've had some dodgy experiences with this, but all-in-all it's really good. It also (if you configure it to) shows the amount of seeders and downloaders and total speed.

or

- Bittornado: it's better than the original BT client imho. You can affect upload speeds, or set it to the preset bandwidth settings (56k, isdn, slow/fast dsl, cable, t1/t3, unlimited). It also shows the amount of seeders/peers connected to.

Get to work.

Azureus is my favourite - it might be Java based so eats CPU, but it's nice for information overload and has lots of features :p

Ok Ill search for these clients when I get home.

Of course, none of the clients will work if the torrent is abandoned or the tracker is dead :p

Eating CPU is bad, mmkay? I like a client that isn't resource intensive, as I am using a paltry P3 right now.
