Okay, gotcha mate. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we have duely noted your concenrs. We're sorry that you feel this way. We hope that should you someday grace us with your presence once again that you have a more enjoyable time here.

But to have everyone's problems mixed up in one thread would have meant to lose a lot of other potential threads. :( That's what forums are for - multiple problems! Just imagine that the entire FFVII forum is your thread... that way, you can go around answering all the problems that get placed there.

Seriously sorry that it meant so much to you that you have to leave, though.

Seeing there was a thread excactly like it on the oage which was still going strong with 3 pages I felt it to be very unfair that the person in question closed mine down.
That exactly why threads get closed - there's no point having two identical threads going at once.
If you post something that's been done recently, or something with no point, or if you post in an old, old thread... chances are pretty good that it'll get closed. That's what moderators do, we 'moderate'. No need to ask someone before closing a thread; all mods have a clear mandate on what's allowed and what isn't. Asking the person first won't make a difference as to whether something is or isn't allowed.
The thread you mentioned was closed for the reasons given - it had no clear purpose, it'd end up stumbling along, with maybe a month or two between posts, and lots of confusion over who was asking what. Far better, as the moderator said, for people to make a specific thread for their specific questions.:)

And just for kicks, I'll repost what I did in your other thread. *it's fun to be a mod-whore*

Del works as a Cid's Knight here, which means he is volunteering his time to make sure that the forums run smoothly, and everyone is having the easiest time.

The reason that Del offered for closing your Help thread was valid, as it is true that helping threads often become confusing after awhile, because a bunch of different people ask different things at the same time. If anyone happens to have a certain issue with FFVIII, they can make a topic about it, and you will be free to answer their question. It overall makes the forums run smoother, and I am fairly sure a good percentage of the rest of the forums will agree with me on that.

There is a reason that Del Murder is a Cid's Knight here, and that he has the ability to close threads, and that is because the consensus here is that we can trust him with the job; if you got to know him, you would learn that he is a very cool dude, and a good leader here.

Since he's gone I suppose I don't have to feel bad that I need to have his typing translated:
Hi... Seeing this IS a feedback forum, I have a complaint which I am going to state, so when I leave here and never return you can stew over it and maybe do something about peoples downright spiteful and rude habit of closing other peoples threads.

SOMEONE (not mentioning names... because I dont want to cause them discomfort) closed my thread a couple of days ago without even asking me. It was just a thread wanting to know of anyone had any problemss with FFVIII "just whack 'em down"(?) I was just trying to deborify myself and trying to have some fun. But noo, someone had to close it with a pityful excuse. There was a thread excactly like it on the page which was still going strong with 3 pages, and I felt it to be very unfair that the person in question closed mine down instead of the one that was already there and active.

I have a just a brief suggestion. If you are going to close someone's thread because of the same old excuse, you better go through all the pages and close every thread just like it.

I am mad .*grrr*Okay, that's better. And, uh... Sorry?
